What kind of backing plate do you use Paul? I know you are a busy guy and this is a simple question but I am just curious as im getting a replacement. Top work as always.
I can't figure out why in the world he would be using a rotary buffer on new paint unless it had some issues . A cyclo buffer would be the only buffer to correctly achieve the same results less the swirls.
This guy merely created a NOVELTY in a country where most detailers do it on a less extensive basis.
A "novelty" always looks great the 1st time.
After a while, many wil realise that no matter how grandiose the detailing is, the car will look like SHIt if its not washed properly and not maintained consistently and professionally.
In the US, this is nothing special at all.
Do it in Japan, Korea, the UK, or any other European countries....wow! you're God!
this guys success is based on his excellent internet marketing and above average detailing skills. i'm impressed with branding ability more than anything. good work!
Even brand new cars have paint that can be improved some may well have sat around in a huge car park for a year before being sent to it's first owner, even new paint can be less than smooth, my bro is a detailer.
your right about the new cars having paint damage, friend of the family works in a body shop, brand new cars arriving to the peugeot dealership have dents, scratches even rust on the body. Peugeot arent exactly the best cars u can buy but their still new cars
He uses an ultra sound depth gauge to see how much paint he has to play with then through experience will know how long to spend on each panel and assuming checking a re-checking with the gauge.
I still use the local polish lads for a fiver for my motor
its not just a simple car wash man, there is many many many processes to do what he does. Not to mention he is super anal and uses nothing but the best equipment. If I purchased a veyron he would be the only guy to touch it.
@DrXsjado I understand that completely, but the engineering that goes into these cars makes them well worth the money. I'm sure you could modify a car to perform on the same level as a veyron, but at the end of the day, you'll be driving a lesser car.

why would you be using a rotary buffer on new paint ? A cyclo polisher would be the correct buffer to use to achieve a swirl free finish

why does a 1 million pound car thats not even a year old need this doing? unless the owner took it through a 2 pound tesco car wash system!!!

you should really watch his interviews. Even new cars can have paint damage. Look at his videos to see my point.

actuely in this vid he is removing any formed holograms and last polishing stages.
for the looks of it, using a 3m backingplate and 3m blue wafel pad
this combo is so terribly soft.
also he's not really cranking the rpm
