My golf pro wants me to not have my right side dominate the swing so much. He advocates me doing hitting balls with my left arm only. What is the difference between extending your right arm through impact and flipping? I think flipping and scooping are my causes of super high ball flight I produce with little or no divot.
Does it not make the right wrist and arm extend too soon, causing fat shots to occur? I thought most instruction aims for you to keep the right wrist dorsi-flexed of bent back toward forearm through impact? Thanks.
@mpb1472 so I must not have explained this well enough. A flip would have the club head passing the handle through impact. A punch or push with the right arm (right elbow going from bent to straight) would not make the club flip. It actually can help to keep the handle ahead of the club head through impact. Just put your right wrist in dorsiflexion, then bend and extend your right elbow. The right wrist is an independent part that should remain bent of course.
@samgouldengolf you just clarified it very well for me. I thought it might be that but I wanted you to explain. Thanks, I enjoy the videos and your personal replies.
