@scrapthrall - For heavy outdoor work it would probably be better to get a high carbon steel blade, but they use this stainless to keep the price affordable
Yea it has similar features of an m9 bayonet. My girlfriend has one n she explained to me the teeth on the back r for tearing through the hull of a downed aircraft. My dad once told me he couldn't take his knife with him parachuting because it only had a single handle strap.
what i was thinking is that you could use the lanyard hole in the base of the knife and the one that isnt in the blade and put a strap that you put your hand through so that it you cant drop it.
@jonesm16 Good thinking, that is true, in fact I have seen some TOPS knives that do have that built in already, their new machete does I think. ~Israel
you know. the boker g4 is a well made boker plus knife. very well made and thought out. but it came dull. so i dont want to buy any more bokers at this time. maybe the nopal. that would be a breeze to sharpen. well i still have the boker catalog sitting by the throne. they have alot of interesting designs out now. ive been looking at some expensive sogs right now. the san mai with vg10
I enjoy your reviews allot. As to pricing on knives, I knew a lady who's son in law was murdered with a 50 cent (type) knife. You know, the crummy wooden handled knife, with a super thin flexable mystery steel blade? He was stabbed in the chest and the blade flexed right between his ribs, into his heart. It's kind of humbling to know that in this case, the cheap knife would beat this type of knife (most likely) due to the flimsy blade.
German company, manufactured in china, american tanto design, named after a soviet. Sounds like an idea that started at a UN meeting! Nice review man. -Cash
kool reveiw on a sweet looking blade!, thank u Sensei, i think i might put this on the get list (as a"fun" blade rather than a "user" blade) cheers brother, best wishes and take care
How odd,
Germany using China to manufacture knives, named after a Russian rifle...further, those knives being purchased in the Northen United States ...

440C? How's the edge retention on that thing? Not saying anything 440C is crap,but I've had a few mixed experiences with that steeltype.

the teeth r for sawing plastic or aluminum. the 2 straps r jus to make it jump capable. it looks like an airman survival knife.

@TacticalHadoken
well, you could use a course stone to grind it and go up the grits until the edge is sharp enough for your liking.
that's what I did to my KA-BAR because I was so used to the sharpened swedge on my camillus kabar.
