I can't stand this without Ruby and Vicky and Alec too! It seems so weird and the first two were so awesome and this is kind of dull. It feels weird when Er Kang called the new xiao yan zhi xiao yan zhi because I was so used to having Vicki being her. I don't even count this as huan zhu ge ge anymore. I've watched it, it's just not the same, they've changed the storylines, added new characters, and re-modified everything, it's not just Huan Zhu Ge Ge anymore. Quite frankly, I think they've ruined the classic. I don't understand why they keep on feeling like they have to remake everything when it was already perfect!
season 3 was soooo dramatic...it lost all the comedy elements that made me fall in love with the show. I think the new cast was good in their own ways, but it was just different. Xiao yan zi is hardly the same person in this season and her relationship wtih yong qi is really kinda annoying and sad in this season :(
season 3 kinda changed my image for yong qi and xiao yan zi.... my image of them is a loving couple and would not really fight/jealousy and stuff like tat.... but im season 3 xyz became kinda too ummm serious or something and yong qi i just couldnt look at him as the same yong qi anymore cause of zhi hua....(even though they were forced) srry for the ppl who r fans of season 3 but i think it totally kinda disconnected me from the happy go lucky xyz

i think this is one of my most fav songs of HZGG3 despite the fact that this was not one of my most fav dramas (HZGG1 and 2 were :) since it shows YQs feeling to xyz "the whole kingdom can not compare to your smile" Because when i watched this HZGG there was always one part of me that felt that in the end there was some small insignificant part of YQ's heart that liked/loved Zhi Hua, and i was not cool with that (im all for the one life one love thing esp when it comes to XYZ and YQ ;P

the series would have done a better job if it werent related to the previous two seasons which everyone loved..i like the originals (actually, i LOVED season 2 and probably watched it 10 times already) ...this season had sooo much drama and the part with Er Kang getting abducted and then becoming a coke addict was pretty disturbing to me...it freaked me out a little when i watched it but it was the more interesting part of the drama. i hate zhi hwa..why do they put her in the series?!
I can't bring myself to watch this, without Ruby, Alec and Vicky this series is nothing. They brought this series to life, it was so perfectly acted by all 3 of them and without them this series is crap. They portrayed all their characters nicely, saddens me that they weren't in this. I can't believe 12 years have passed and i still remember all the scenes exactly. I should go rewatch part 1 & 2.
Season II was my favorite, in fact one of my all time favorite TV series. I liked season I as well. But honestly, I can't get season III. The author at first didn't want to write series III, but then she changed her mind, too late to gather all of the old cast I think. I really don't like the direction of the story in series III, and some the acting scenes made me cringe sometimes.
If anyone is thinking of watching this, watch episodes 25-33. That's the highlight of this series. At first I wasn't impressed at all because the first few episodes were so draggy, and the acting was really bad. But the war scenes and its consequences were done very well. I thought the acting for most of the new cast were pretty poor, but I was really impressed with the new Yong Qi. His character became deep, he's no longer the fun-loving YQ of the past, but faced with the burden of leading his
... people, and also faced with choosing between his responsibilities as the future emperor (needing to have many wives), and his love for one woman. Sure, Alec is better looking, but I don't think he could've portrayed such depth... I quite liked the plot for Er Kang nearly driven to insanity, it also gave depth to his character. But it's a shame it was dragged out way too long and lost its impact. HZGG3 had what the first two lacked... a lot more maturity. Almost like a different series...
I don't think Zhi Hua is really an evil person, she represented alot of women in ancient China. She's afraid to be neglected, because once you become neglected by your husband, you're nothing. The Queen is a good example of this... And she was only 17 when she married, a rebellious and selfish age. Also liked how everyone showed a darker self in this series, always thought everyone was too perfect in the first two... And the opening theme is incredible, very epic! :D
but she kind of took advantage of him to get pregant and become the queen....actually she thought she could win his love if she had a child and (forgot her name) didn't

it sucked! the more i watch it the more i got mad. its sucked i was pissed off when i found out that the old character was not in there. AN i dont like the plot for hzgg 3 at all it was stupid and depressed. the hzgg movie was suppose to be kind of drama plus happiness but it jsut sucked.. they that replace vicki was annoying. vicki act in that was not annoying just rebellious she has her own ideas. but that girl who replace vicki ruin most of the movie for me and the plot.
Watching Series 3 was a torture for me, the show had lost that magical touch. I had grown up with the original cast in both series 1 and 2, it was just too hard for me to swallow the new actors as the characters that I had adored.
I'm not saying the writing or the acting was bad, no, actually it was very good, but for me, the original cast had something special that the new cast just couldn't mimic.
The king, Xiao Yan Zi, Xiao Jian and Yong Qi were better in the original. But I prefer the new Zi Wei. She seems kind, strong and selfless, whereas the previous one was just cute but a bit weak/whiny - the drama had to keep "telling" us how great she was instead of showing us. But of course, no one will ever beat Zhao Wei at XYZ. She owns that character forever.
You have a good point, though I still kinda think Ruby Lin made a better Zi Wei. I felt like even though she didn't really stand up for herself, she had a really good heart and could be defiant when she wanted too. =D

I could never really get into this drama after the cast changes, I just really lost that connection with the characters. Series I and II were my fav, most especially Series I.....but Series III I never finished watching because I just couldn't see these new actors playing the characters I loved so much....
It's nothing against the writing or the acting, it's just my own feelings changed and I couldn't connect to the characters anymore.

I must say that Huan Zhu Ge Ge III wasn't so bad. Most people thought it wasn't as good as the first 2. Just change of characters. The movie plot line is really good and I like most of the characters. I think Zhu Hua or Zhi Hua was like a spoiled brat towards the end but I think you should really watch it! (:

i agree with the mature bit because in HZGG 1 we saw Xiao Yan Zi playing jokes and being playful and kinda immature but in HZGG 3 the storyline was much more serious and because people already had their views on Xiao Yan Zi as the playful one in the scenes of her losing the babies it wouldnt have the same effect as it is planned to have you get me? with new actors we wont presume anything! =]

i see this as a totally separate series from the first 2 Huan Zhu Ge Ge's. The cast change made the mood of the series totally different. Not only this, the plot and everything made the lighthearted-ness of the HZGG world totally disappear. The characters didn't have their memorable traits anymore. To me, everything ended at part 2
i think i would agree! the second one was soo much better and the main attraction of HZGG is the fun they have around the palace but once they got married i guess they needed to act to the status they was in and how people would have acted in that time! but i totally loved the first two i used to watch it all the way through my childhood!! =]

Watching Series 3 was a torture for me, the show had lost that magical touch. I had grown up with the original cast in both series 1 and 2, it was just too hard for me to swallow the new actors as the characters that I had adored.
I'm not saying the writing or the acting was bad, no, actually it was very good, but for me, the original cast had something special that the new cast just couldn't mimic.

The king, Xiao Yan Zi, Xiao Jian and Yong Qi were better in the original. But I prefer the new Zi Wei. She seems kind, strong and selfless, whereas the previous one was just cute but a bit weak/whiny - the drama had to keep "telling" us how great she was instead of showing us. But of course, no one will ever beat Zhao Wei at XYZ. She owns that character forever.

You have a good point, though I still kinda think Ruby Lin made a better Zi Wei. I felt like even though she didn't really stand up for herself, she had a really good heart and could be defiant when she wanted too. =D

I think Im just going to pretend that there is no PRP 3, I love the 2nd ending, I don't want to see anymore of it, Im kind of scared just to even think of something bad that can happen to the couples! BUt in a way I am curious about part 3....

I actually liked this one more than the first two...perhaps cos I didn't really like or get to know the first two well so....partly cos I don't really like ZhaoWei...no offence....

I could never really get into this drama after the cast changes, I just really lost that connection with the characters. Series I and II were my fav, most especially Series I.....but Series III I never finished watching because I just couldn't see these new actors playing the characters I loved so much....
It's nothing against the writing or the acting, it's just my own feelings changed and I couldn't connect to the characters anymore.

the houses look like tudor houses

fashion changes. and the change in commonor outfits is cause they were in a different part of the country & in a different county in those scenes.
how do the houses look tudor. they are nowhere near tudor!
and i feel that the cast fits well into the character's changes in the few year gap between the story timeline. I like them. They fit the personality changes. The only quirk is rong momo looks younger when she is supposed to be older. =P

I must say that Huan Zhu Ge Ge III wasn't so bad. Most people thought it wasn't as good as the first 2. Just change of characters. The movie plot line is really good and I like most of the characters. I think Zhu Hua or Zhi Hua was like a spoiled brat towards the end but I think you should really watch it! (:

I only seen the 3rd 1. but hopefully I'll see Huan Zhu Ge Ge l and ll in the future but i do agree with u this was serious and Zhi Hua was a spoiled brat. i despise her still. it was so sad when zhi wei was singing at the time when er kang was gone. :( i started crying but my brother was staring at the T.V as if meant like nothing was wrong. :( weirdo. lol. then something funny happened and i started cracking up. a lot of people say that the actors in part 3 are more mature and all that, and i agree, but i still wish that they didn't changed the cast. I wished that Vicky Zhao and Ruby Lin and the rest of the old cast would play in part 3. Since part 3 is more serious and people say that vicky zhao wouldn't fit as Xiao Yan Zi because she's more mature, i wished they could put in some more comedy. but part 3 is amazing too.

i agree with the mature bit because in HZGG 1 we saw Xiao Yan Zi playing jokes and being playful and kinda immature but in HZGG 3 the storyline was much more serious and because people already had their views on Xiao Yan Zi as the playful one in the scenes of her losing the babies it wouldnt have the same effect as it is planned to have you get me? with new actors we wont presume anything! =]

i see this as a totally separate series from the first 2 Huan Zhu Ge Ge's. The cast change made the mood of the series totally different. Not only this, the plot and everything made the lighthearted-ness of the HZGG world totally disappear. The characters didn't have their memorable traits anymore. To me, everything ended at part 2

i think i would agree! the second one was soo much better and the main attraction of HZGG is the fun they have around the palace but once they got married i guess they needed to act to the status they was in and how people would have acted in that time! but i totally loved the first two i used to watch it all the way through my childhood!! =]

Ummm I think it was about the same-ish length. It was different; but it was good too. I was a bit bummed when I saw the new emperor, but he did pretty alrite =]=]
Xiao Yan Zi was pretti much the same, but seemed smarter lol. I liked the new Zi Wei and thought she was sooo pretty (the old one used to annoy me cz she just seemed too 'gentle' and butterflies and daisies kinda thing.)

I think Xiao Yan Zi had a miscarriage or something; and the king's mother wanted Wu A Ge to have a baby asap; so she got this really seemingly perfect girl for him as a concubine. Xiao Yan Zi was of course broken hearted cz Zhi Hua [the concubine] was smarter, prettier, and younger than her. Wu A Ge refused at first but went with it anyway and they ended up having a baby together. U shud definetely watch it :D:D:D

I still like the first season of this series, the second and third just drag on when its not even necessary and also Ruby and Vicki r still the best actors for these characters. U can't replace them with some other actresses...
