There are surely only a few hundred (if even that) of these games in circulation. To actually obtain them would require a few thousand dollars or even more.

the normal play is pretty boring but the boss battles are awesome.

Dunno, I don't know any other people who play this... I recorded this when I had this for two days (Description, meh.) , but had some luck with the second boss in stage 10... Can only give you tips.

=> When the yingyang ball comes, it's mostly better to hit it away, not to shoot it.

=> You can block the white particles with your hit attack, but can't block missles.

=> If you have no lives left, your bombs can harm the enemy and the cards you collect.

So in the first levels you can get an instant win with a single bomb, later you need two for some cards.

Don't worry, I suck at the other Touhou games ...
