2D animated movies converted to 3D not sure how that's even possible but it worked for The Lion King so it could work for other movies too I don't really prefer 3D or 2D animation more but I could accept a compromise like this
Crazy Stupid Love underperformed?? It stands now at $81,5 million! It opened with $19 million so it had great word of mouth and holded good through out the summer!
Sorry to hear you got axed by Marvel Grace. They always seem to get rid of anything good. You, Spidey's continuity, etc. I guess I'll be unsubbing from The Watcher as you were the one that made it tolerable for me to watch.
I didn't enjoy Planet of the Apes all that much. It's definitely an overrated movie. It felt prolonged and empty in many scenes. However, it's definitely one of the best movies (if not the best) in the franchise.
I'll admit, I'm surprised you've been fired from Marvel, Grace. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. The support of the BTT viewers will never let you down. We, as your viewers can always guarantee you that.
I really hope disney go back to hand drawn animation I thought princess and the frog was fantastic and most of my favourite animated movies are disney 2d movies
Movie Math is by far my favorite part of BTT. Box office break down along with solid relevant information (you wouldn't get the "Fight Club"/"Driven" comparison any place else.), and not to mention Grace herself.
@AmadeusCho My pleasure! I work hard on these to make them both informative and unique, and I'm really glad that makes a difference to you and others. And thank YOU for watching!
I had a pretty cappy day today. But as soon a logged on and saw a new Movie Math in my subscriptions box, I felt so much better. Thanks Grace for brightening my day!! :)
Great vid, but last time I checked, Contagion has gotten great word of mouth. A lot of the YouTube critics loved it, including myself, and professional critics enjoyed it as well, great video nonetheless.
@HumanGuitarTV1 Reviews and critics aren't necessarily "word of mouth". Word of mouth is when you go to to school and someone tells you, "Oh hey, that was a good movie" or when a friend recommends it.
@HumanGuitarTV1 Yes, I'm referring to audience word of mouth. It got just an 8 here on BTT and people were disappointed, while on CinemaScore it got a B-. Plus I've talked to several people I know personally who didn't enjoy it. But critically, you're right, it's been very well received.
Grace you should do a video explaining how in the world they transfored the lion king to 3D, I was blown away by how it actually looked great in 3D. It looked better than recent 3D conversions like the las air bender(grap)
I think if Disney took the hand-drawn beauty of The Princess and the Frog, combined it with the great 3D of Tangled and combined it with timeless plots like The Lion King, they could have a great formula on their hands.
I really don't see much appeal in Taylor Lautner, aside from starring in those XP Twilight movies. As for Disney's idea of re-releasing their classics in 3D, I hope it doesn't go the way of the "Star Wars:Special Edition" movies (as in enhancing the cgi), and I hope it does regain interest in hand drawn animation.
the funny thing about the LK 3d was a couple days b4 it came out is was the voice actor of young simbas birthday, and the monday after it released it was the voice of pumbaa and scars birthday
Any Disney movie can transition extremely well to 3D. Because of the animation style of layering to give everything depth that Walt started doing in the animated movies since Snow White. And any classic Disney movie in theaters my fiance will drag me to
grreat video, keep up the good work. i hope not too long from now, we can see you on network tv.Giving us movie reviews with interviews and movie math (my head hurts) instead of those old geasers that we have now.........You know who you are!!!
remember grace.. Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because "he lacked imagination and had no good ideas." He went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland. In fact, the proposed park was rejected by the city of Anaheim on the grounds that it would only attract riffraff.
@tanman1110 Out of professional courtesy it's not something I can really discuss, but I can say I was totally blindsided. The situation is made a little better though by the wonderful support I've been getting from viewers.
@BeyondTheTrailer Whoa what?! I just figured you were taking a vacation or something, you won't be working with Marvel anymore (in the near future)? Stinks for them.
Grace, I likey the new end screen, but maybe have a more attractive color than gray. How about you do a blue design. A solid is a bit boring, but I like the new ending concept :)
I honestly wouldn't mind if Disney were rent out the theater I work at (AMC Downtown Disney) and re-release Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Tarzan, and The Little Mermaid. :)
I don't think Drive will hurt Ryan Gosling. He was already known as an indie darling and Drive is an art-house, indie movie. Drive will probably do extremely well with it's DVD/Blue-ray/Rental/On-Demand Sales and become a cult classic. Gosling's star power is on the rise. I think if he continues to make more mid-size to blockbuster type of movies and they do reasonable to great business, he'll be fine.
@FebbieVanceGarcia Math problem....for example "You buy 16 apples and eat 12 of them. How many apples do you have left?" or "You bought 16 apples and ate 12 of them, how many percent from the starting 16 did you ate?" Just wrote that because of what read on her shirt.
Awesomely informative, and as sexy as ever Grace!! I really loved the end bit, its always a little confusing at the end when only 3 of the links are actually on the page! Keep it up, you rock my socks, and are among the dying breed of movie-casters!
That's crazy how well the Lion King did. It's probably the perfect movie for re-release. If Disney decides to re-release those other movies you mentioned, I don't think they'll do as well as Lion King.
