  • hoooorahhh i agree the troops are heros and the cause is totaly crap

  • @rickybarningham i agree with few things that you said but the start of this war was not BS around 5000 innocent mothers fathers brothers lost their lives for some extremeist views and i wish there was someone honest and someone that will actually act on what is right for the country and the people that should truely run this country

  • thank you to all of the men and women that has thought for the UK, USA, what a epic song, i am going next year can not wait to help

  • 1. Slipknot

    2. Stone Sour.

Corey Taylor is a amazing artist. He can do MUCH more then Scream. He has a VERY good voice! MAGGOT 4 LIFE

  • For the war or against it, I believe everyone should support not just our troops but all the troops who fight against tyranny, oppression, and terrorism. Because these are the few who risk their lives so we can live in piece. Thank you to all who fight for peace!

  • Reminds me of addiction or depression..........

  • This song could relate too military... These lyrics are really deep... Be safe out there yuh guys

  • my cuzin jon is in afganastand fightinh and my brother daniel is a vetrain

  • i love the song and you get a god effekt by the pics i support the soildiers

  • 93 people hate America and their homosexual orientations

  • I pray for my comrades

  • We should SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN SERVICE. Thank you for all that you have done. You are the reason why our country is so fucking awesome!!!!!!!

  • @kryevil your an idiot soliders are the bomb and they fight for freedom with out them we would probobly be dead and u think its fun for them when there away from there familys i could not be one of them i would miss my family too much u dumb shut

  • OK who gives a shit if you dont support the war the soldiers would still be over there fighting because that is what good soldiers do and that is why we live in the best damn country in the world because we have people that will die for our right to free speech

  • the troops put in alot for us amricans respect

  • Love this video and thank you for that stone sour is awesome and You people in my country are amazing i spent 4 yrs in combat duty and i loved it bc you were all here missing and appreciating our sacrifice dont remember us who are alive but dont forget the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice they deserve your love and praise bc they gave what most wouldnt for us all

82nd airborne Ranger And i love the ppl

  • At mazousea. Let me guess you support abortion. And that is right?

  • Are troops are all over in the world to make peace happen. Yes I know what if love and talking fails. What if we stop war. What if your love ones die because we have no troops to protect are freedom and peace. Sometimes we may have war to have peace. What if we try to talk instead of war. Yet what if they continue acts of war against us and others? We set back and talk and talk. What if we go no where with talking? Yet when we go into war to try to maintain peace. That is wrong

  • Thank you

  • They kill children, babys , women and elderly people------

and come back and to their families... incredible...

now wonder that most of them needs happy pills or drugs..

    so sad..

  • :(:( everytime i watch this vedio.it makes me cry:(

  • I know a girl that does a great cover of this! Go to LECTALENT she's the third place winner.

  • I served for 5 years and was deployed twice, i STILL can't watch these without loosing my shit, somethings stay with you forever......

  • Good Video, great song. But this sounds slightly different from the version I know. Only slightly. Like the transition between verse 1 and 2 is a little longer, and the solo is longer. Any reason why?

  • @paranormal17

The version you have heard is called the "pop version", they came out with that later... This is the version that was on the album, the real version....

  • it makes me cry to watch this..and listen this song very emotional..but anyway thumbs up for the troops:)

  • the thumbs up for the troops was my comment on my brothers acount... oops

  • thumbs up for the toops!

  • im going to join the coast guards soon wish me luck

  • My brother is at this moment on the way too Afghanistan :-(

and this is our song :-(

I hope you come back soon

  • A high percentage of Stone Sour's music is hard, and that wasn't even really that hard compared to other songs. Also, Corey Taylor sang in Stone Sour before Slipknot, so why would Slipknot choose to bring Corey on if he sang soft all of the time? They wouldn't, and this song is testament to his metal background. Even when hes soft, he stll has that metal core.

  • This has exactly everything to do with the Military. Throw us a bone and pick us dry... tells us lies and say we are a part of history and we can have it all... For all my fellow Airman and Soldiers I want to say good luck and be safe.. We will get out of the enemy's country soon.

  • im all about supporting the soldiers, but this govornment is very corrupt, this war is a bullcrap war for bullcrap reasons, soldiers are nothing but pawns to this govornment, and its becuz of these things that i feel for the troops even more then i usualy would, i thinks it sucks that theyre over there fighting with all their hearts for a govornment that doesnt give a damn about them and sent them over there for a cause that is far from noble, my grandpa, mom, dad and about 7 or 8 -continue-

  • @rickybarningham of my friends joined the military, so dont give me any crap about not supporting the military. fact is the masses in this country are blind to the truth and are not (and probly most never will be) ready to hear the TRUTH about this govornment. i used to try and spread the truth but 90 percent of the people i explain the truth to are so pacified by this govornment not only do they not believe the truth but get angry when they hear it. the troops are heros but the cause is crap.

  • @findark I agree with you it's such an emotional song and then all of the sudden bam it turns so fast and hard (no pun intended). Although I thin it starts at 3:30 but hey its five seconds so I think we can agree for the most part. LOL

  • @dunbar1471 if you think this is hard, and fast, you havent heard the FULL track. this is the short version of the song.

  • @dunbar1471 it doesnt change all of a sudden. it builds to that point.

  • @dunbar1471 im a medic over in Kandahar with 1-25 SBCT Arctic Wolves outa ft wainwright i hear ya brother......

  • @joeypartridge

I lived at Wainwright Aug 08 to Mar 10 Loved it there... Have lots of friends in 3-21

    GOD SPEED !!

  • @findark dude it's called the climax of the song, an instrumental breakdown just playin like shit till it's out, I think that's very emotional! there's two sides the slow softer subtle parts and then the BAM in your face big finish, what's not to love about that? jesus christ that's rock n roll 101, go back to school

  • @aaronpaugh go back to school ? wow... someone's being freakin' irritated by personal opinions. you're a pretty pissed teenage rock n' roller, aren't ya? :) as i was saying, FOR ME, that climax of the song is just like playing slipknot's psycho-fuckin'-social at a goddamn funeral... it's just out of place.

  • @findark Man no need for name callin here. I just think it's only fitting to have a big improvised solo at the end of every song. Some of the best things in music are out of place. I enjoyed it, out of place or not.

  • @findark I have to disagree. I think it just helps the song build on the emotion. The whole song gradually picks up and you can feel the emotion building until it bursts out.

  • @cousinjake Exactly. The kind of pain and ambivalence expressed throughout the song is emphasized, I think, with the intense instrumentals towards the end.

I can also say that, as a military wife, that is what it feels like.

You go through bouts of passiveness, of trying to make sense of things and speak logically to yourself, but sometimes, between watching the news and/or having long times of radio silence(no communication with your loved one),you can't help but go manic,in a way.

    Great song.

  • @findark what do u expect, it is real rock n roll..

  • @findark. your right, but there's an alternative Version of this song without that hard screamy end. Unfortunately i don't find it on youtube anymore

  • WE LOVE YOU GUYS AND YOU WILL FOREVER BE IN OUT HEARTS AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!!!!!!!!!! Rest in Peace to all the fallen soldiers and thank you ALL for your service.

  • My girlfriend and i (Yes i am a girl as well) are in JROTC at our highschool. We absolutely love it and wanna have a military career when we are older. When we put on our ACU's we wear them correctly, and proudly! It takes alot of guts for two 15 year olds to wear it much less an active soldier in the army. THEY MUST HAVE TONS OF GUTS!!!! You military people who have read this, you are my hero's and my role models. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE AND ARE STILL DOING! -Next Comment-

  • PLEASE READ!!!!

THIS SONG MAKES ME CRY =/ People have no idea what's so ever about what our soldiers are fighting for...OUR LIVES PEOPLE!!!! We have to honor and respect them and thank them billions of times for defending our country. Their risking their lives for us as we enjoy so many things that most of us don't even appriciate! We have more than alot guys, our soldiers are the ones who should have it all...THEY DESERVE IT! -Please read my other comment-

  • 4:23 is the best part of the song

  • I'm gonna miss my uncle, RIP Uncle Shawn!

  • corey is an amazing singer, he can scream in slipknot and sing soft like this in stone sour

  • I was deployed to Iraq in 2005 with the 172nd Stryker Brigade. This came out towards the end of our 16 month tour. It hit home in so many ways I listened to it over and over. I don't care if people talk - it doesn't change the fact that we know what we did was honorable, and no amount of politicking can change that. I miss my brothers that are gone, and I carry their memories with me and live my life the best I can. It was an honor serving with great men, and my country.

    CPL C. Smith, U.S. Army

  • @csmithrun2

Well thank you very much for your service to this great country!!! I'm glad you don't feed into any of the BS people try to say about you guys!

  • @csmithrun2 Honey you have more support than you can imagine....Much Love Tisha ;))))) I want to say Thank You for everything you have done and sacrificed......I will alway's pray for you ....

  • @csmithrun2 Well I just want to say Thank You to everyone there who is serving or have served for our country.. I got a few friends over there and my best friend is there in Afghanistan... I support the troops 100 % I even got a flag tattooed on my back... plus I have lost a few friends there fighting for our freedom... I Hope everyone will support our troops... Dont care if they dont like Why we are there but they are our families and friends there

  • @csmithrun2 Hi brother, thank you for your service. I know the media tries to demonize the war efforts...but there are still people who are aware of the evil you were fighting out there. Thank you for everything...i just want to remind you that we care and appreciate what you've done. Thank you.

  • @csmithrun2 There are still plenty of people who care and appreciate what you've done. Don't let the liberal media fool you. Thank you CPL. I am not brainwashed like many byt the bullshit and I know what you've been fighting against out there. Thank you again sir.

  • @csmithrun2 glad you served man. I have relatives over seas right now and I think about them every day hoping they are alright. You got my respect and I thank you for serving the our country

  • @csmithrun2 I support the army, but not their cause. God bless u I know it is so hard. IM with u

  • @csmithrun2 God bless you and all fo our troops

  • @csmithrun2 thank you for your service to this country

  • @csmithrun2

    Amen!!!

  • @csmithrun2 hurah sir. thank you so much for everything uve done. u are the real heros

  • @csmithrun2 I can't say I was for the war, but, especially as the daughter of two parents in the military, I thank you so much for what you do, for what you sacrifice, and for what you carry with you; your memories, your strength, and us.

  • @csmithrun2 God Bless you. I am Russian. I am in the Russian army as well. I love Slipknot and Stone sour. i am glad you are in good shape comrade! Greetings from Russia :)

  • is this a live version of the song or n extended version? either way they're still my 2nd fav band

  • @bosskp90 Its not live so it must be extended.

  • @dunbar1471

This is the album version.... They came out with a pop version later that has a second chorus in it. This is the real version....

  • @bosskp90 There is antoher shorter version, with a background melody in the end, anyhow, this is the original studio album :)

  • I can understand on how the Troops can feel to this song.. I myself is not in the service but my best friend is and many other friends are.. god bless them and anyone else.. may they get to come home soon and safe...

  • Hey Dunbar. Just gotta say even though this isn't what the song was made for the words can be felt by many. I am not sure how it got on the topic of soldiers and such but I am in the army on the way home from my 2nd deployment. I do agree with the fact the lyrics can appeal heavily in that sense. As a soldier, as an American I want to say thank you. To those of you that don't like the military reference you don't have to, but you don't need to bash them either.

  • I was going to write a big schpeal about how this war isn't to protect American freedom, how America isn't "free", how you should support soldiers on a personal basis, not as a whole, and how ultimately they're people doing a dangerous job. However, everyone will get uptight and take it personally and bitch at me, because American's are great at bsing about themselves. So instead I'll make this as striaght forward as I can: shut the fuck up and enjoy the song, it's beautiful and well written.

  • Great video dunbar1471! But, don't waste your time responding to useful idiots like "certainlysure" and "diaxina" - one probably lives in his parents' basement and doesn't have a clue how much different his life would be without these brave soldiers doing what they do. The other is an ignorant foreigner who's country undoubtedly calls on our brave soldiers at the first sign of trouble or natural disaster. Screw them, they're idiots. Again, great video!

  • @HoosierD12 lol yes very true and thank you very much!

  • I love this song and have been searching for the meaning of it for a while. I come from a military family...so it always reminded me of that...thanks for the sharing!

  • senza parole....bellissimo!!

  • You'd be surprised how appropriate the line of "I'm get to go home in one week, but I'm leaving home in three weeks" is to servicemembers, particularly on deployment. This song has nothing to do with the military, but it voices how many of them feel. War is terrible and it forces people to do horrible things, but few people want to be there, and most just want to come home. You could show some respect for those who died in past conflicts to give you the right to voice that your opinion. Ingrates

  • @bulletsponge62485 AMEN buddy!!!

  • @certainlysure I never once stated that Stonesour supports the war nor does their interpetation of the song have to do with war in fact they are talking about being on tour in the music industry. I however support the TROOPS not the war and think this song in my own OPINION is how it feels to be a soldier.

  • Actually, the song is about Corey going through rehab, the struggles he had with it, and some people close to him not believing he would see it through.

  • @certainlysure have you eveer thought of what the army stands for?? wdh hell do u think u r saying ? why do u act befor eu think? so many people out there llose there lifes self-center-basters like you so just keep the comments to ur self. me personal i support them 140% nmw! so go scerw ur self

  • @certainlysure I want you to read what you just wrote. Now thing abvout the right in which you have to speak your mind. My husband fights to make sure you keep that right. I want you to remember that at night when your sleeping in your nice warm bed he sleeps on the groud when you spend time with your family all he has are picturs of his.

  • @certainlysure hey you fucking piece of shit im in iraq right now and i surely havent killed anyone you know what we are trying to do is help them create a stronger government and an army you know thats why we are really here right but when we get fucked with we fuck with them back so go to hell if you dont know what the fuck your talking about ok fuck you and all you fucks that agree with him mother fuckers

  • @certainlysure i would like to see what you would do if we got nuked. would you liked it if we got invaded. i dont think so. i dont like war but i do infact support the reasons we are over there. bin laden killed americans on american soil. and we put sadam in power over in iraq. so its our job to get rid of him like we did. you certinly dont know anything.

  • @certainlysure

im guessing you were visiting anartica or something when 9/11 happened right? because i was here and umm i got pretty pissed, were not killing inosent people were killing terrorists who threaten to end the life of every american, if only you understood the magnitude of which we are fighting right now, i am a proud american and it pisses me off when tree hugging hippies like you dont understand what our troops are doing for us and how people like you take it for granted

  • @FartPoper11

i also want to go back and say not just americans, wanted to clarify that because there are ALOT of countries receiving threats

  • @FartPoper11 i am sure if they were attacked and thier families died they would understand but till then they are going to be closed minded!!! Just ignore them they probably think if they blow themselves up they will have 7 virgins to fuck everyday for etirnity!!!! Weird people will never understand why people help out other countries and attack when attacked!!!

  • @certainlysure if we were not occupying the Middle East there would be nothing to stop Islamic extremists from comming over here. They would love to chop your head off in front of your family praising Allah. Since when does fathers and husbands go into another country, defending their own, and rape a mother...you are fucking retarded. P.s. ...you may want to take a few grammer and typing clases...socialist pigdog hug a tree

  • @certainlysure Hey fucker....

You live in the U.S. correct? You eat, shit, sleep, and bitch when you want to correct? Well fuck, if you don't like being free and living as you please, why don't you move your pathetic ass out of the States. Nobody wants this war but our brothers, sisters, fathers, wives, and husbands are there. Shut your damn mouth and show some respect. Ass hole.

  • @certainlysure If you stand behind the troops, feel free to stand in front of them. They are the ones who gave you that freedom of speech to speek out against them.

  • Does Stone Sour support war? I would listen to the whole album. Stone Sour do not advocaat our silly world.

My opinion, murder is murder...with or without a suit. Fight for your country whilst kill and rape another...well done bombing all of those brown people who are apparently not allowed a valid opinion.

I can not believe you put this hero bull on this track. Be ashamed you conspiritor to murder!

  • @certainlysure support the troops not what they do you don't know the hell it's like over there so how can you say that thats all they are doing and logicly they are killing because they are told to you dumb ass

  • how stupid are you to assume that anyone would just assume that this song is about the troops? is that how close minded you are? mind your own fucking buisness

  • The first time I ever herd this song I had chills beacuse this song speaks of everything a soldier goes through....people just don't realize what it's like in our shoes :( Weird too...had a flat tire on the off ramp to Zzyzx rd lol...god California suck balls!

  • anybody who served like me know this song anbody gets leave like for 2 weeks see his famaily then has to go off do what u haft to do its like a bone to pick u dry

  • w.m.d. ?

  • if you aint infantry, you aint shit!!!! us army 11B/11R/21B/OIF/OEF!!!!!!!!!!

  • I pray for all of you Soldiers out there, that you come home safely, and thank you!

  • From someone who is in the Army, I thank you for your support. We do it all for the ones at home.

  • @dimarziotonezone23 Sadly the majority of the picture were the Marines, and if no one joins the "army" who will protect our country? Do u like ur freedom? without them fighting we wouldnt have all our freedoms.

  • well if nobody was fighting, it would be better :)

  • @dimarziotonezone23 Well yeah man, I hate to see my relatives and other people go to war, but freedom isnt free to acheive.

p.s love the pic at 4:24

  • To everybody with positive comments for this video and/or our troops. THANK YOU

    SUPPORT OUR TROOPS

and to those with negative comments SUCK IT HARD AND SLOW!!!

  • Great tribute video very moving images.

    I liked your song!

    Thank you for posting.

    A Proud US Navy Veteran!

    *****

  • Thank you i'm glad you liked it and thank you very much for serving this great country!

  • The message isn't "support our troops" its more about how it feels to be over there for long periods of time, away from home, away from friends, and away from family. Day in day out putting on your gear...not knowing when your going to get attacked, and the physical/mental stresses it can put on you. Oh and by the way...United States of America is our countries name. Hence AMERICAN...same as German for Germany, Italian for Italy, Russian for Russia...shall I go on?

    SSgt Tucker

  • Thank you for helping the ignorant people in this world and thank you for serving!!

  • What the fuck's your point? People call "asians", asians. Asia's a continent, so they must be just like us then, huh?

Who gives a fuck what the message of the song is, we still support our troops, and we always will.

  • Damn right we will!

  • like josh said the songs message isn't about supporting troops its about how alot of soldiers feel! My message on the other hand is to support our troops!

I Love your logic though ("and you are not Americans, America is the continten..always trying to have what's not yours.. but whatever... ") LOL you just help support everyones theory on why the rest of the world needs so much help and cant make it on there own!

  • That is very true. It is how they feel. My boyfriend is in the Marines. God bless our brothers, sisters, moms, dads, exc...Thank You Everyone!

  • @dunbar1471 America just tries to help other countries since they have so much power. its so sad other countries hate america so much when we dont go make things worse!!! Think of america helping out a corrupt younger brother then maybe you will like America a little more!!! Stop hating on a powerful country that has freedom and looks out for everyone else and fights back when attacked!!

  • @diaxlna idk who u think you are but "trying to have what ant ours"? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmlast time i checked americans are from america that is our country our home and nmw so people say i still believe so go really got anything else to say?!

  • 4:40 to 4:55- The terrorists have won the coin flip and have decided to recive.

  • The part with "I'm over existing in limbo, I'm over the myth's and placebo's, I don't really mind if I'd just faid away" is my favorite part.. it's just so powerful. It makes me think of what people would actually do for freedom, for humanity, and it's so sad that some people don't recognize and appreciate that....

  • PTSD is an easy way out for those who cant cope i've spent 27 months in country as a sniper and havent felt the need to end my life because what is that going to really solve? Call me an asshole if you want thats just how I feel.

  • pic at 2:52

thats why men risk their lives everyday

  • exactly!

  • Reminds me of "November Rain" by GNR.

  • R.I.P. those that have fallen to to those that are still fighiting I'll be right there to support you next summer support our troops no matter where they get sent

  • my husband went to iraq and this is the song i listened to the whole time he was gone...thank you for those who served for our freedom

  • hi all

my friend introduced me to this song last year when i was discharged from the british army,

it is now 1 on of my favarite songs, but it also makes me think of all the friends iv lost over the last fer years.

so please support all the troops out in afganistan and iraq, us and uk.

i think this is such a great dedication to them.

and thank you for making it as it reminds me so much of the long days in training.

rip al those that have laied down ther lives and may the rest stay safe

  • My friend Amy filed a missing persons report for her BF..about a week went by then yesterday they found his body. He killed himself, a gunshot to the head in his works' parking lot. We speculate it was severe PTSD from serving 8 years in the marines. If your feeling suicidal please tell someone you love & GET HELP. God bless.

  • Its such a shame we can't work harder on providing help and advice for our soldiers who suffer with this. My prayers are with your friend.

  • if we are fighting for freedom why are we in a different country

  • fighting for freedom of thier country and to protect national security intrestests like oil and other resources. its not completly political.

    LCpl Bagley USMC

  • OORAH..... Without resources nations can collapse from weakness. where would we be without oil? I'll tell you. trying desperately to keep disorder, crime, and terrorism out of our own country.

    LCpl Owens.

  • It sure as hell isnt the soldiers fault that they are in war!!

And they do what they do because there is no one else with the balls to do whats nessesary, every soldier is a hero. Putting his or her life on the line so that idiots like you can say what you want, when you want.

    Support the troops!

  • fuck you

  • i leave for bootcamp next month. I support all that have fought and died for my country. This world is messed up but hopefully I can do my part to make it a safer place. God Bless the USA!!!!!

  • God protect our soldiers

  • i HATE the military! but i do support the cause to gain freedom, i just wish we didn't have to fight for it, i wish the entire world could live in peace and we wouldn't have the need for all the chaos, but i do thank all the troops fighting for our freedom, my best friend ships out for basic in about a month, he is going active, and i just hope he will be ok
