  • Linkin Park xD

  • Colling quin

  • this is when girls wore dresses and a guy could dream about the cute curvy 60's hairdo student teachers.i remember one started crying in front of our 6th grade class because she made a mistake on the blackboard and kids started laughing.boo hoo sniffle sniffle i hate you all she said, but came back next day all smiles and apologized

  • Dancing with someone you wanted to kiss while this song played in the background was fun. (still is!)

  • Great scene from Beverly Hills Ninja

  • great song, original and the best.

  • Comment removed

  • Yea you got it right. As an outsider it seems that the education of our children jhas gone to pot...

  • I was listening to the Girls Aloud version, and my dad was like no put on the original! I never even knew that this existed, but now I love it!!! I love finding "new" old music!

  • Oh yeah sha boo da de wha licky shit

  • I LOVE THIS SONG !

  • I swear I'm the only 80s baby that enjoys this version more than Tiffany

  • fukin rocks

  • Oh yeah, right in the back seat!

  • Yep! this was the theme song when I was in High School. "Parking", & hoping that the county sherriffs didn't catch us with our pants down! HA!

  • I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME~ ITS EPIC

  • NIKOLAI SENT ME HERE

  • I'm no expert on music, but Tommy James and the Shondells were from up the road in MI! We would go up to Shula's Club and bowling alley about 10 miles north and watch them sing and play, they were great and no this is the original version, not Tiffany!!!

  • @thrashdouche21 Then I'm sorry, but your taste sucks. This is an excellent song.

  • it' funny how comments on the Tiffany version say that THIS was music, and not the half naked skanks today, and on this video they say that tiffany's song was lame, and this music is the best.:)

  • For some reason, when I was a kid, I used to feel calmer listening to this song. I suppose school was stressful for me, so I often felt the need to run away, just as fast as I could. :)

  • Great song and the best version I've heard since Lene Lovich (it was on her debut album)

  • I was born in 82... and I prefer this version.

Tiffany just CAN'T hold a candle...

  • @OuroborosChoked...ya think?

  • I wish I had grown up in the 60's, all the best music was around this time. Being a 90's kid all I got was horrible pop and grunge. Oh well, at least I can download it and never have to listen to the radio.

  • @GrizzChawCopen There is some hope. There are a lot of radio stations that only play this kind of music!

  • @GrizzChawCopen or ESPECIALLY watch MTV! HORRIBLE! Wish Cable would DROP it!

  • My older sisters used to listen to this song .... it reminds me of those times when we would all blast the 45 and dance around the room that ALL FIVE OF US GIRLS SLEPT IN!! Good times good music!

  • Lots of Parking lot time in late 60's listening to Tommy James- great stuff-great memories!

  • My mother hated this "dirty" song....todays rap would have killed her!!!! ha ha

  • Just heard this for the 1st time. Sorry im late...:)

  • Tiffany covered this song. Somewhere, two ancient Mayans are clinking martini glasses.

  • I love the original. Tiffany's Version is good too, it's an 80's spin. I love this song, it feels so heavy in places.

  • tiff cant touch it!!!7

  • I want a to find a girl and run into the woods with her.

  • come to canada and you wont have these problems go canada go we have some great music up here

  • TO acvgso haha I agree

  • I Think We`re Alone Now

  • i still think this song is about saboteurs.

  • @Nertrender

i still think this song is about saboteurs.

    Prolly about homosexuals.

  • @SkidRowJosephine I don't know running through the night and tumbling to the ground sounds like running away from an explosion to me.

  • @Nertrender Todays liberal mindset!

  • @alexp8654 what is?

  • @Nertrender With the way things are today, thats probably the truth! So sad, the world today, the music today, the kids today! Back then, a bunch of kids could get together and have fun with music, but nowdays, if they got a huge bunch of kids together, theyd all fight, swear and beat or kill each other! Just look at Woodstock and you can see the difference in the way we were in the 60s! Not one altercation! Makes me damn proud of my generation!!

  • @SkidRowJosephine Wrong! That's just what YOU think about!

  • this was a mega hit

  • This is Classic early rock-n-roll.!

  • Wow for the last 23 years I always thought Tiffany's version was the original. I even went to see her sing it live in a shopping mall in '88. I feel so betrayed.

  • @TheInformalstyle So what you're saying is that the videos of her singing in a mall aren't staged for the video shoot, she actually did that as a kind of tour? That amazes me for some reason, in my town we just get buskers lol

  • 22 personas no aprecian la buena musica

  • I love this was I was a kid they would flood a tennise cort in the winter I learned how to skate there and they would play this song,I had such a good time there.Seems we never got cold but they had a little fireplace inside this little place were we could sit and warm up,we would flirt with the boys skate allday those were times when innocence was the best and fun never cost anything

  • @65whiskeygirl Sadly those days are long gone.... since now everyone is so SUE happy, and someone would fall and break a leg, and sue whoever flooded the tennis court for millions and millions of dollars, even though they were the idiots that fell in the first place.

I like how they do it in Spain, everything is AT YOUR OWN RISK. You want to be a hero and run with the bulls, fine, at your own risk. You get fucking trampled, we'll help you out, but you can't sue 'cause you're the idiot.

  • haha =D if you listen to the birthday massacure version she does it from the point of veiw of the girl =P

  • screw Tiffany. her 80's can shove it.

  • great song

  • Its a shame that people think this is a cover to Tiffany's song because that one has more views...

  • This reminds me of my 17 year old bride in 1967 when we were in San Angelo, TX. having been stationed there with the AF. What good times and every day at the lake with my classmates.

  • I love the fact that I grew up with this kinda music..I really feel like it shaped me into the person I am..my parents were always playing stuff like this and a wide variety of music. This is the good stuff. :D

  • this was the in music in my parents teen years. And now i am enjoying it in my adult years, thanks

  • Let me see if I got this right. Tommy James 706,221 views; Tiffany version... 2,915,363 views. This country really is in trouble!

  • @acvgso You got that right! What's even worse, they probably thing it's her original and not a cover!

  • @acvgso There both good, but I get what your saying alot of originals are better than covers, but the beatles cover twist and shout way better than the original so.

  • @acvgso Don't you dare bring Tiffany into this. She's done nothing wrong.

  • @acvgso Who the fuck is Tiffany?

  • @staphinfection Exactly!

  • @acvgso Just one of many indicators my friend. What's really sad is that most of the Tiffany voters have no idea that her's is just a cover of this great original.

  • @twajetmech1 LOL, I don't even know who Tiffany is and have never heard her version. No, I am not even clicking her on the sidebar. I remember my big sister's crush on Tommy James and the Shondells! I also remember the marathon AM Radio nights when everyone in town would call-in dedications to request "Crimson and Clover" over and over. Of course, in a small town the DJ did it as often as the gag stayed cool and fresh. Grovey times back then!

  • @acvgso i love the Tiffany version, and I think I'll forget about this one.

  • @acvgso

    The Tiffany version is better.

  • @Heaney5551 Heresy!

  • @acvgso the one that killed me was having A young niece come up during the earlier part of the 80's and ask me "have you heard that NEW SONG BY BILLY IDOL, MONY, MONY?

  • @bigfootskitty I know..what really kills me is when the youth of today say, "Hey, i know that song! Its played on my video games"!! It is indeed sad that a lot of the great music from past eras is now played in the background of some junk advertised for sale or a video game!

  • @acvgso Well, you have to take into account that most kids today, know nothing about the music of the 60s. All they know is the crap theyve been force fed on the TV, radios and reality shows! Its up to the parents of todays kids to teach them about music history. I introduced all my three sons to these great 60s bands and they all love them. They know more about music than just about any kids for miles around! Im so glad i collected music over the years!!

  • @horsenaround Kids? Tiffany's version came out nearly 25 years ago (1987), and so what if people prefer music from the 80s and 90s? I'm a music appreciator, i like almost everything from the 50s until now. I was surprised to know that this was the original version, however I think they're both good.

  • @acvgso True true. I guess that some kids were not as fortunate as us. Our parents shared this music with us and we listened and loved it! Other parents either did not share it, or the kids were not smart enough to listen to it.

  • @acvgso First of all, Tiffany's version was more popular, like it or not. Second, most YouTube users are younger than 30 years old, and were kids/teenagers when Tiffany's version came out, thus when they search "I Think We're Alone Now" they look for Tiffany, not for this one. Don't generalize because of that, not everyone is going to like the music you like. This isn't bad, but i personally prefer Tiffany because i grew up listening to her version (I'm 19).

  • @acvgso: OMG you are nothing but right. Wish we were back in the 50s and sixies. Forget Tiffany look at that whore gaga and justin booger. Nobody want talent anymore. Thank God for the folks at youtube or I would be crazy

  • @acvgso The youtube country?

  • @acvgso think about the generation of computer-savvy users...I'm sure the folks whose 'hey day' included this song in their formative years prolly doesn't do much youtubing, you can't take it as a slight.

  • @hiphophomework I'm almost 57 years old. I'm grateful for youtube. We can go back in our younger, and MUCH better sgon years. The last time I bought a CD of a group still singing was the Bee Gees in 2001. Since then, I have only bought CD's music from the years 1960-1978, give or take a few years. I couldn't tell you a group or singers name of today to save my life! What I have heard, well, you don't want your mama from way back when to hear it.

  • @4everBeeGs Will be 57 in Feb, and I agree. I always listen to this music. The memories they bring back are wonderful. Better days. Nothing to think about except what you were going to wear to school or who you were going to prom with!!! I do listen to todays music because of my 3 grandchildren, I want to stay "hip" with them!!! LOL!!! Nothing compares to this though!!!

  • @4everBeeGs You and i both, sister! I am 58 and i cant stand any of the new music and havent followed it since the 80s rock bands. I dont know how these kids today can stand to listen to all that boring pop music. And the rap is so bad, its no wonder the kids of today are so troubled! I am so thankful that i had the chance to grow up with wonderful happy clean music that i could really enjoy. It was truly some of the best music the world will ever know!

  • @4everBeeGs Well most of the UK are 50+ years old.

You can make a difference in the popular music by standing up together

  • @acvgso : Country ? You mean the world !

  • @acvgso Now the "Tommy James" version has 816,407 views, and the Tiffany version has 3,442,396, and it's probably getting more.

  • @acvgso I tried telling the people on the page for the Tiffany version this one was better, but then I got seriously flamed :(

  • @acvgso Nothing wrong with Tiffany. The bulk of U Tubers weren't even born when TJ and the shondelles were going

  • @acvgso I agree.............

  • Scooby Doo anyone?

  • This is a really good cover of that shitty Girls Aloud song!

  • @hotelmario510 Cover? This is the first version.

  • @dethwing watch?v=xECUrlnXCqk

  • Love this song, however at my age, 57, would have to change the lyrics to:

...You put your arms around me and we tumble to the ground and then we say, Can we get up now, there doesn't seem to be anyone around, Can we get up now the beating of my heart is a lovely sound.

  • isfunny, you actually believe Tommy James and The Shondells stole from Tiffany

  • who's a moron,plz specify,we don't want to go off on false tangents

  • so theese guys did the origonal of 2 of my fav songs that i origonally heard els were

  • from this to crystal blue....i bet tommy tuned in and turned on????

  • Can't believe they ripped off Tiffany so blatantly

    (cue the idiots)

  • Classic cut

  • Absolutely great song

  • love this original.i've heard this before tiffany's version in 1987. got the 45 to this in 1984.her's not too bad,but if anyone tries it today their way would flop in my book.thanks for this one.

  • Hahaha ole navy ruined this song but I'm sure this song has gotten so many hits because of it. Btw I'm here because of old navy too -.-

  • I got here because of old navy (old navy sucks)

  • Wow; my next door neighbor was a really hot and I was best friends with her brother. She knew a lot more than I did and played this song for me and waited for a responce. When I was to stupid to pick up on it she took charge. I loved the 60's

  • Old navy has been ruining good songs lately

  • Iv'e got a new blouse!

    V.S.

    I think we're alone now...

Thumbs down for a blouse, thumbs up for alone!

  • whyd they ruin the old navy commercial song no jk

  • Who got here because of Old Navy haha

  • @pointofinfo Excuse me, please, but...I'm the parent of grown children and I don't think 18 people's parents are having a problem with this song, unless it's 90 yr. olds looking over their 59 yr. old grown-child's shoulder. I love this stuff. My brother was the one who bought it and played it on a Sat. morning. I started dancing to it. I was around 12 and just went crazy over these gus. We are the older ones (baby boomers), mostly, who grew up on this. This isn't Gaga or Beiber, ya know!

  • I like the remake by The Rubinoos too!

  • 18 peoples' parents are looking over their shoulders.

  • Tommy James and the Shondells I Love All Your Music & Have Every One Of Your Hits! You will forever be Amazing to me I Love You!

  • OMGGGGG these guys totaly copyed Tifanny!!!

  • @Savipalooza - This version is from 1969 :-\

  • @pinoyboy1964

I'd hate to break it to you, but you got trolled so hard.

  • @Savipalooza

So you acted like an idiot just so someone would call you out on it? You must be a full blown retard.

  • @abunkoske

Apparently you don't understand how trolling works. Regardless, I wasn't trolling as much as I was making fun of people who would say something like what I said in my original post, but in a serious manner.

  • OOOOO love it :)

  • me suena familiar, creo que hay una version en español, una adapatacion de esta cancion

  • @therotiv4 no... o si? jaja, no se :D

  • @miichelle1221 yo me acuerdo de una hehe aunque no recuerdo la letra :/

  • SO ahead of its time

  • KINDA MY FAVORATE

  • my first time song for sure, wow

  • beautiful memories

  • what drives people to state their age in the comments ,who gives a shit how old you are just listen to the music and be happy about it.

  • Love this song

  • I wish music today was this good <3

  • 15 people were left alone in the dark

  • All of a sudden I'm 15 yrs old again and its 1966. Thanks for posting a wonderful memory.

  • Tiffany! LOL

  • HEARD THIS SONG ON A RADIO FOR THE FIRST TIME. IM 15 AND I LOVE CLASSIC ROCK, BUT THIS IS A GREAT SONG. REMINDS ME OF THE BEATLES A LITTLE, (MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BAND)

  • Loved this song from day one-now an old critter and still love so much. Timeless.

  • the beating of the heart wasn't the only sound, there were crikets makin' noises too lol.

  • how cant you like this shit???? good music to sing along to and drink massive quantities of alcohol, yea I live in Milwaukee....

  • Tommy James and The Shondells are so overlooked.

  • Roswell, well, do you have any connections with Capt. Kirk or ET?

  • Bass line in this song is possibly the best ever laid down in a rock song.

  • This is music. I can't stand listening to the radio as it is now. Unless it's an "Oldies" station. I think I was born 40 years too late.

  • music to build streetrods to , and , . . . I do , Im russell bradford banks on fb , living the good life in Roswell New Mexico july 31st 2011

  • Good stuff! Timeless!

  • Song brings back some good memories of my 1960s childhood. Watching the local teens dancing in the street at the neighborhood block parties. By the time I got in my teens it was all gone and it was all about disco, but there was somethingtruly fun and innocent about the music of the 60s that's very hard to recapture in today's music

  • @choosing2lookeast Must be such a let down, seeing as today's youth is all being 13 and poppin' their ass to hip hop beats and music that is electronically processed and shit out of a robots ass

  • @FollowersofDamu Haha, those of us who don't are severely underrepresented, which is a shame. There are plenty of oldies fans among us; you just need to know where to look! Personally, I don't comment on many of these videos because the sheer volume of adult listeners and what their opinions may be intimidates me. Like, I'm afraid one false move or word will ruin those who grew up with this music's idea of modern youth (not that the media hasn't already).

    At any rate, great tune!

  • @choosing2lookeast Hi I agree with you about things. We had dance parties in the pool but I am a 70s child.. Born in '56. Don't you know our children would have loved this growing up?? I think they would..

  • @choosing2lookeast fun and innocent is a great description of this type of music. Just saw Tommy James last night, such great music!!

  • @choosing2lookeast -=-This song was banned by the 'adults' of the 60's for the explicit sex lyrics. When you have a memory in movies, they make is like all smokey and surreal for a reason, dude. Just saying...

  • @crazyshirley2100 My mother hated this song, guess she wasn't the only adult that felt that way. Fortunately the radio stations played the hell out of it.

  • @choosing2lookeast i wish i could have experienced that

  • I think I'm a clone now... there's always two of me just a-hangin' around.

  • They do deserve to be in the R&R Hall of Fame

  • @masterSpartigus 11 people are very gay!!

  • @kyle00kris, being gay has nothing to do with it. Grow up and speak like an educated adult if you want people to take you seriously. Thanks.

  • @shutitok just shut up it gets old how all you people try to act all mature & stuff when someone says something about dislikng gays or being homophobic...you reply "omg like grow up get over it etc." yada yada yada

    JUST HEAR THE SONG!

  • @FromHyrule, I know you're a bratty little kid and all, but do you know what hypocrisy is? What about a contradiction? You seriously just responded to a two-month-old comment complaining about "us mature people" who need to shut up and hear the song. So why are you even bothering to respond? Oh, that's right, you're probably not that smart. Makes sense now.

  • @shutitok thats what i mean you ask me as if those words were so hard! "oh hey look at me im so mature saying big words like contradiction" -_-

  • @FromHyrule, I ask you as if you were a moron because that's how you portray yourself. Run along, little twit.

  • @kyle00kris So you must be exclusively homosexual to dislike this video? Idiot.

  • MY FUCKINNNNNNN JAM!!!!!!!

  • This is Scooby Doo music=]

  • I love Lene Lovich's cover of this song but its hard to beat the real thing.

  • Comment removed

  • I first heard this in the 1980 film Mothers Day which is a low budget exploitation film lol

  • And i think I'm a CLONE now

  • This song always reminds me of my very first bf. We were fifteen.

  • I used to think the beadles made this. stupid right?

  • @aucajaha

very stupid, who are the beadles?
