So many sad stories about the Jap invasion .....too many.
The question is , do / did they say "We are offering our apology for we DID !"? the answer is "No".Did they pay for the forced labor? did they show sympathy to the victims? Or did they respect human life? Do remember the Chancellor of by-then West Germany , kneed down in front of the Jewish memorial ............sad, so sad !
There were also the" Die Hards" My uncle was captured on Xmas day in the Wong Nei Chong Gap as he and three others had run out of ammunition, he was then sent to the prison camp in Sham Shui Po where he was a prisoner for some years and then put on a Ship caled the "Lison Maru". The Japs refused to put up the red cross flag and was torpedoed by an American Sub. Many Scots, Canadians, English and other soldiers were in the water being used as target practise by the Japs.
After over half a century Hong Kong people will never forget the Canadian soldiers from Winnipeg "The Royal Rifles of Canada" gave up their life to defense Hong Kong against the Japanese invasion. Thank you for all the good works.
