Nickelodeon has had family oriented programming or family centered characters look at Rugrats, the Adventures of Pete n Pete, hell even the Angry Beavers were brothers, so because Nick doesn't air shows based around families is crap. TMNT was suffering in the later years under Liard's mirage, wo considered the TMNT fanbase as kids not taken into account the nostalgia of it. When Nick took over we got shot glasses, SHOT GLASSES!!!!

@trans8010 Nick listened to the cry of the nostalgic fan base, before Nick I had one T-Shirt with the logo on it thats it. After Nick I have sleep pants, boxers, snuggies, Goblets, magnets, several t shirts, hats etc etc. Plus what exactly is wrog with the 87 animated series the show and toyline made TMNT what it is today. The show was able to detail the characters some nifty action scenes (for the time) and some great comedy some lines still make me chuckle today. Klang? Did you say klang?!

The IDW TMNT comics we have gotten so far under Nickelodeon's watch are by far above and beyond anything that was ever produced solo by Peter Laird. So fuck off!

The minute Nickelodeon started producing material the franchise started growing into a life of it's own again, because they don't have a deathgrip on it's creative direction, and because they have brought in people like the original co-creator of the turtles Kevin Eastman who isn't afraid to try new things.

Call me way too optimistic, but I think there is hope for Nickelodeon doing a good job of this. Think Avatar: the legend of Aang, it's a great series with a lot of the major strengths inherent in TMNT. Family, violence, martial arts and comedy.

They really screwed up. Nick has had good shows, but the Ninja Turtles series should remain true to it's roots. I always wanted them to go back to Eastman and Laird's original comic book, which is much more graphic and violent. I wouldn't want Cartoon Network to buy the show either, because they would abandon the original idea and ruin the show with their wierd adult "humor".

I got in a discussion about where and when would I go if I could time travel.

I would go to 2012 and see Nickelodeon's TMNT cartoon and find out if it's really good or if it's really shitty.

If it sucks, then I would go back to October 2009 (just as the rights are about to be sold to Nickelodeon) and say to Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird "Wait! Wait! You guys cannot go through with this deal. These nut jobs are gonna fuck up TMNT."

If I bought TMNT, I would make it dark, grim and gritty.

A cartoon series for kids as well as a separate cartoon series for adults.

It's like a win-win situation for all TMNT fans.

Kids can have their cartoon (which would contain slightly more comedic value) and adults can have their cartoon (dark, gritty, more violent and serious).

Have both on Cartoon Network if they're willing to air it.

1 for the kid shows and 1 for Adult Swim or bring back Toonami.

@Angel90900 look it up, the creators where very angry at 4kids because of the 100's of edits they would do, even going as far as demanding that they edit it to there liking (just watch the last few seasons, it was kiddie and watered down) thats what lead to the loss of the license. nicktoons has had a great track record with keeping shows the way they where intended (aside from fowl language and nudity *see dragonball z kai*). also, new iron man and wolverine and the xmen plox :)
