I think it's good knowing that Chuck was killed in the parking lot... otherwise it just leaves everything open for a lot of drama in the future. I mean, do you think Chuck just left town after getting his ass kicked at the prom!? HELL NO! He probably went home, got some more of his boys and beat the shit out of Kevin Bacon a week later when he wasn't expecting it. At least with this scene, we end Footloose knowing that the dragons have been slain and everyone lives happily ever after.
