Making extraordinary claims with no evidence does not automatically give them respect, that's why we criticize religions. You seem to have missed the fact that the Iraqi and Afghan armies not only got thrashed in days, but with almost no losses on the part of the west.

You also have missed the fact that it was the very fact that muslims attacked the US that caused the invasions in Iraq and Afghanistan. You also seem to have missed the fact that these bombings seems to have stopped or suffered severe setbacks. Probably because large amounts of the Jihadis got executed in muslim lands instead of in the west.

There's no conflict between those two options. I kind of agree with you here though. It's silly to talk about fair fighting, We can talk about fighting that has as a goal to cause the maximum amount of suffering to civilians and other types of fighting, directed at accomplishing military goals, though. We usually label the first type "terrorism" and is what the muslims do.

Their bloody and barbaric history of slaughtering their way through north Africa, the middle east, India and parts of Europe seems to suggest that. Unlike the rest of the world, the muslims still hold that their barbaric leaders in the middle ages set the standard for morality. Not unlike claiming that we should act like Genghis Khan. The moral superiority of this stance is simply amazing. Where it would be dead easy to create a final victory by having the troops execute every living being in the border villages to Pakistan, the west chooses to selectively go after terrorist targets *even at a cost to themselves*
