I love have Billie smiles during these takes. But, I think they went with a quieter kiss in "Journey's End" because Rose is still supposed to be ambivalent about #2. Plus, time-wise, it's equivalent to right after #9 regenerated into #10, so although they have feelings already, Rose/10 have yet to have had all those great moments from Season 2 to bring them even closer.  This other version is like a great gift from RTD & Co, for the fans who REALLLLY wanted to see this happen on the show.

David Tennant is hot and rocks--and it's so much better when he actually looks like he's --kissing her back-- -because when they cut it down to what's in JE, it is very short and you don't get to see any of his emotion in it-which makes him seem not as authentically in love with her at THE Doctor!!! I mean, c'mon! You've gotta see SOME emotion from him to believe everything is going to be okay, as weird as it all is!!!
