Hey you guys I am a boy that has just started to dj and if you type into you tube (dj decks home mix ). I am the first video please please Check it out and like it :) thank you lots !!!!x. PLEASE DON'T DISLIKE I NO IT ISN'T VERRY GOOD
yo man i've got a cdx and am thinking of buying one of these, i have problems with my cdx skipping with my time coded cds for my software and half the time they won't even read the cds and when they do they only play for a few minutes before constantly skipping, is it true these never skip? even with software?
CDs because of the sound quality, durability and portability. Though I've all but transitioned to Mixxx on the computer using FLAC (lossless compressed) sound files and MIDI controllers. (See my other videos!)
@steffanshowaman Just search the web. I use Stanton cartridges. (These particular ones are the Trackmaster II-RS, which would be the Groovemaster.V3 in the current product line.)
I have Numark X2's and I have to say that they suck! Sure, they seem great at first but they are not durable. Cue and stutter buttons are broken in both of my x2's and they also tend to everheat and that leads to probles. For example skipping, "auto looping" and automatical pitch down and it's wont read or eject the cd. Also, the flutter effect is way too wide for my liking. I've had mine for 18 months and I'm gonna to get rid of them soon.
You should get some Scratch Records (with hip hop beats) and practice with that. Juggling is wicked hard (to sound good) but using hiphop or breakbeats is easier for practice.
Sorry about the neg comments Pegasus. I usually don't put people down unless they deserve it. I was in a bitchy mood that day. Keep trying, everybody has to start somewhere. It took me years of practice to get to the level i'm at now. My bad dude.
It's cool, bro. I always get nervous when the camera is rolling and it was my first time. I appreciate the info tho. I'm much better at faderless scratching...I should probably make a video of that... :)
I have the TTX's which in my opinion are "The Best Tables" and I've tried em all. Except these. I think i might get these though. As long as they perform as well as the ttx's. Which i'm sure they do. Numark is very under rated company. Alot of pro dj's believe Technics are best, but there not. Once upon a time they were but they don't even come close in torque, record control, pitch shifting. It's just that almost every club has them....and i hate having to use them.
hey i only have cds and im geting your whole set but do you have to have vinyl and wat were those blue disc on the top of the scratch bored was it a record plz reply
Uhh, why not just get CDXs if you only have CDs? The point of the X2 is to be able to play CDs AND vinyl on one unit.
The caps on the blue records control CD play & scratching (they can be moved to other records if you like.) The blue records themselves have scratch samples on them, as seen in the HTFR video.
i did one of buddies owned a pair and everytime i played a record the needle will skip and thats using a ortofon club needle.they're not sturdy enough when it comes to mixing.thats why technics 1200 will always be #1.
funny story try picking the ass end of ur x2's up (cd entry slot facing u) and just hold it there till it loads it workd 4 me and still does these damn things hat if u sneeze on em let alone having a spec of dust in the room
The X² is realllly finicky when it comes to CD-RWs. Use only 4X max CD-RW discs. (Search for # 8245970 at Walmart's web site)
Stay away from High- and especially Ultra-speed CD-RWs. (I have issues with the Ultra-speed ones even in computer drives!)
When you try them in the X², make sure the deck has been turned on for at least 10 minutes and is warm. Then let it try to read you disc for awhile (5 minutes or so.) It should eventually cue up. If it can't, it will automatically eject the disc.
In any case don't use CD-RWs of any type for a gig on these decks since you don't want problems when you're playing out! Even if it reads the TOC, you may still have problems seeking through tracks. (I use CD-RWs just for testing.)
Sure, they are regular turntables where vinyl is concerned. It would be better to use time-coded CDs though to avoid any skipping and wear. (That's what I do when testing Mixxx.)
Guitar Center is the only retailer that sells them for $499.99. They usually have only 2 in stock. Also they don't always have them at that price. I bought 2 from Guitar Center about 3 months ago and I was there to buy something else actually. By the way these decks are very professional decks and are not for a beginner DJ. You essentially have a TT500 + CDX merged together. Cool thing is you don't have all the problems that the CDX is notorious for.
That depends on how much you want to spend (considering how long you plan to DJ) and what features you want/need (CD, vinyl, digital/computer.) Search Google for "beginner dj" and check some of the links. (YouTube won't let me post links in comments.)
I got these because I have alot of CDs and a fair amount of vinyl and wanted to have all-in-one units.

SO, what exactly did you mean when the table just plays like a vinyl turntable?
you can't switch the pitch or speed on the vinyl? u sure?
dvaifilmsdotcom 1 year ago
I meant it plays like a vinyl-only DJ table where you can adjust the pitch. You just can't do key lock.

I'm confused..... With vinyls, the music you're playing, is that coming from a C,D????
adamennis999 1 year ago
@adamennis999 yes. The center spindle of the platter controls the music from the CD.
PegasusRPG 1 year ago
@PegasusRPG So, what do the vinyls do?
Do all vinyls take cds? Sorry but I've only ever worked on Cd players.. Mostly Numark!
adamennis999 1 year ago
No, that's what makes these decks special: they can play _both_ records _and_ CDs. See the "part 2" video where I do just that.
PegasusRPG 1 year ago
@PegasusRPG Ok thanks, eh can I ask ye a question?
Which do you prefer , cd's or vinyl?
