  • shame they stopped making them.

  • the slower you burn it the better... well said my friend

  • X squared? Don't you mean X2?

  • @bensolloway No, it's X². It's just easier to type X2. :)

  • yo man i've got a cdx and am thinking of buying one of these, i have problems with my cdx skipping with my time coded cds for my software and half the time they won't even read the cds and when they do they only play for a few minutes before constantly skipping, is it true these never skip? even with software?

  • how much was that then and to much talking and next time show a example longer lol

  • SO, what exactly did you mean when the table just plays like a vinyl turntable?

you can't switch the pitch or speed on the vinyl? u sure?

  • I meant it plays like a vinyl-only DJ table where you can adjust the pitch. You just can't do key lock.

  • I'm confused..... With vinyls, the music you're playing, is that coming from a C,D????

  • @adamennis999 yes. The center spindle of the platter controls the music from the CD.

  • @PegasusRPG So, what do the vinyls do?

Do all vinyls take cds? Sorry but I've only ever worked on Cd players.. Mostly Numark!

  • No, that's what makes these decks special: they can play _both_ records _and_ CDs. See the "part 2" video where I do just that.

  • @PegasusRPG Ok thanks, eh can I ask ye a question?

Which do you prefer , cd's or vinyl?

  • CDs because of the sound quality, durability and portability. Though I've all but transitioned to Mixxx on the computer using FLAC (lossless compressed) sound files and MIDI controllers. (See my other videos!)

  • @PegasusRPG Thanks man , you really helped me!

Respect and keep uploading vids.... (:

  • were can you get the crtrages what you put needels in

    (numark) for cheap

  • @steffanshowaman Just search the web. I use Stanton cartridges. (These particular ones are the Trackmaster II-RS, which would be the Groovemaster.V3 in the current product line.)

  • wer can y9u get numark cartrages for cheap ???

  • what mixer are you using in this video??

  • @asand1234 Pioneer DJM-500

  • what was that annoying beating noise?

  • I have Numark X2's and I have to say that they suck! Sure, they seem great at first but they are not durable. Cue and stutter buttons are broken in both of my x2's and they also tend to everheat and that leads to probles. For example skipping, "auto looping" and automatical pitch down and it's wont read or eject the cd. Also, the flutter effect is way too wide for my liking. I've had mine for 18 months and I'm gonna to get rid of them soon.

  • Leave some advice suckas...instead of ya negativity!

  • how much were the turn tables and mixer all together

  • You should get some Scratch Records (with hip hop beats) and practice with that. Juggling is wicked hard (to sound good) but using hiphop or breakbeats is easier for practice.

  • Sorry about the neg comments Pegasus. I usually don't put people down unless they deserve it. I was in a bitchy mood that day. Keep trying, everybody has to start somewhere. It took me years of practice to get to the level i'm at now. My bad dude.

  • It's cool, bro. I always get nervous when the camera is rolling and it was my first time. I appreciate the info tho. I'm much better at faderless scratching...I should probably make a video of that... :)

  • I have the TTX's which in my opinion are "The Best Tables" and I've tried em all. Except these. I think i might get these though. As long as they perform as well as the ttx's. Which i'm sure they do. Numark is very under rated company. Alot of pro dj's believe Technics are best, but there not. Once upon a time they were but they don't even come close in torque, record control, pitch shifting. It's just that almost every club has them....and i hate having to use them.

  • You can get em at Guitar Center, Musicians Friend, HTFR (Hard To Find Records) UK, Ebay, ect...

  • where did you get it

  • your supposed to use hip hop or phat old sckool beats to juggle. Nothing about that was "juggling" sorry dude..........whack.

  • they look like shit

  • does anyone know of any other decks that play cd and vinyl coz im lookin for somethin a bit cheaper than the numark x2 hybrids "/

  • The Gemini CDT-05

  • so does it hava usb feature

  • No.

  • WAT DO U SUGGEST FOR A STARTER DJ KIT??

wich is better a numark or a stanton??

  • Too much talking!!! Dick

  • Sorry, lots of information to get across.

  • hey i only have cds and im geting your whole set but do you have to have vinyl and wat were those blue disc on the top of the scratch bored was it a record plz reply

  • Uhh, why not just get CDXs if you only have CDs? The point of the X2 is to be able to play CDs AND vinyl on one unit.

The caps on the blue records control CD play & scratching (they can be moved to other records if you like.) The blue records themselves have scratch samples on them, as seen in the HTFR video.

  • good shit bro. you answered alot of question i had

  • X2 is good for scratching and mixing. Has it a good pitch? Is it precise for mixing?

I have a denon dns-3500 and i want to buy a good deck to scratching and mixing too. But i'm not sure what is the best option for me.

(sorry, i'm spanish and my english is not good, hahaha)

  • sorry bro but technics 1200 r the best turntables ever made.

  • Demo the ST(R8)-150s before you declare that. You may be pleasantly surprised! ;)

  • i did one of buddies owned a pair and everytime i played a record the needle will skip and thats using a ortofon club needle.they're not sturdy enough when it comes to mixing.thats why technics 1200 will always be #1.

  • i agree, 1210's

  • cool vid, you answered alot of what i wanted to know. thanks :)

  • funny story try picking the ass end of ur x2's up (cd entry slot facing u) and just hold it there till it loads it workd 4 me and still does these damn things hat if u sneeze on em let alone having a spec of dust in the room

  • my cd-rws dont work, and I burned them at 1x 2x 4x and tried different types of cd-rws. any help???

  • The X² is realllly finicky when it comes to CD-RWs. Use only 4X max CD-RW discs. (Search for # 8245970 at Walmart's web site)

Stay away from High- and especially Ultra-speed CD-RWs. (I have issues with the Ultra-speed ones even in computer drives!)

When you try them in the X², make sure the deck has been turned on for at least 10 minutes and is warm. Then let it try to read you disc for awhile (5 minutes or so.) It should eventually cue up. If it can't, it will automatically eject the disc.

  • In any case don't use CD-RWs of any type for a gig on these decks since you don't want problems when you're playing out! Even if it reads the TOC, you may still have problems seeking through tracks. (I use CD-RWs just for testing.)

  • Well done PegasusRPG, great demo!

  • Dude great demo, everything i need to know.... you need to do this professionally!

  • Can i play Time coded Vinyl on this monster...??

  • Sure, they are regular turntables where vinyl is concerned. It would be better to use time-coded CDs though to avoid any skipping and wear. (That's what I do when testing Mixxx.)

  • Guitar Center is the only retailer that sells them for $499.99. They usually have only 2 in stock. Also they don't always have them at that price. I bought 2 from Guitar Center about 3 months ago and I was there to buy something else actually. By the way these decks are very professional decks and are not for a beginner DJ. You essentially have a TT500 + CDX merged together. Cool thing is you don't have all the problems that the CDX is notorious for.

  • where did you get them for those prices?

  • Decks from Guitar Center (check local stores.) Case from SixStarDJ.

  • cool vid man hw much was did dey set u bac??

  • $500 each for the decks. The case was $250. I've had the mixer for a long time but they go for around $350-500.

  • in which shop did you get them? for that price :O they are here like 999 euro's and in dollars that would be 600-700 dollars

  • i want to buy this!!!

    thanks for the great test!!

i have no experience in dj´íng is this the right turntable for beginer?

  • That depends on how much you want to spend (considering how long you plan to DJ) and what features you want/need (CD, vinyl, digital/computer.) Search Google for "beginner dj" and check some of the links. (YouTube won't let me post links in comments.)

I got these because I have alot of CDs and a fair amount of vinyl and wanted to have all-in-one units.
