Whenever I try to play fast for a long time my hand starts to hurt Any suggestions?

@cooldude812128 sor sure you are mistakening something, you should be able to play for hours before feeling pain. a bad equipment is often the cause - an instrument worth 4000 $ sure will offer more comfort than a 100 $ worth; a bad setting can also be involved, if your action is too high you will struggle to press on the strings; you think it might be this your case? (very often string action gets too high on bass guitars)

@imhuntman9 the best you can do is trying to do it on the flat strings, just try it randomly until you get some speed, then try it on a midtempo song, then raise the speed. you can also do exercises with methronome, increasing speed from time to time

@imhuntman9 Buy a metronome and practice at a slow tempo, if you look online there'll be loads of speed exercises you can do which can help improve speed, best place is to start at 60 bpm and raise the bpm by 10 each time when you feel comfortable enough you can play at that speed without errors

@tokorev747777 not really, steve's signature one is basswood, with worse electronics than american standard worse wood quality and SPB-1's.

this one is alder probably, or ash... has better electronics, a different bridge rosewood fingerboard SPB-3 etc etc..

@InsaneBassist777 fender jb american standard costs 1.300 euros, the highway model goes for 700; sting ray can cost 1.200 as 2.000, depending on the model. I've never seen a gibson tb in italy :)

@expertgamerz101 there is no link, they don't just sell it to anybody, you have to write to them telling that you have a steve harris signature and asking for a replacement pickguard - they will ask you to prove you own a steve harris though, thei only give that pickguard as a replacement for SH owners!

per 93Godsmack93: la parte prima del chorus non è così difficile, perchè il basso non fa una scala completa come la chitarra. poi la parte prima e dolo il solo di chitarra è facile. bisogna sapere cosa fa esattamente il basso e questo è il difficile!

@NtWarlock vari, tutti seymour duncan (spb1, spb3) o fender (vintage o nuovi), sono abbastanza simili in realtà. questo è l'sbp3, è molto più cattivo, ma questo suono si può avere anche con l'altro basso settando l'eq dell'ampli in modo da simularlo :)

@AcousticBeaver well, the badass is a good bridge, but it doesn't change your life, it's just a little (but little) more sustain. if you get the american standard, that's got a better bridge than badass, get it only if you have a money surplus! ;)

the strings are DR, very good ones, but I usually play also with ernie ball, d'addario, dean markley, fender and warwick - the strings choice it's pretty up to the player's taste, cause you can get any sound you want with pots ^_^

no, this I made for myself, my own signature, my specifications and all, looks a lot like a steve harris, but for me it's better :P anyway steve has a bass with resewood fingerboard, the checked one he used in no prayer for the dying! good basses both of'em!
