  • is 6/8 kindof the same as 3/4 except 8th notes?

  • @samwoj Its a matter of pulse.

    In musical terms its this: (S) means STRONG beat, (W) means weak beat. Listen for this when he plays: a | represents starting a new bar.

    "Simple" vs "Compound" refers to how many ticks are between strong beats.

    4/4 and 2/4 and 2/2 are Simple Duple. SwSw | SwSw | SwSw OR Sw | Sw | Sw

    3/4 is Simple Triple. Sww | Sww | Sww | Sww

    6/8 is Compound Duple SwwSww | SwwSww | SwwSww
