  • would a army firefighter be able to apply for a civilain firefightign job after he gets out of the army or would i still need to go to school and do the academy again as a civilian?? could anyone give me any info please ????

  • My child is an FN/USCG. God bless all of you!

  • Cool vid. It's the best job in the world. I love your silver proxy suits. I wish we had those (not kidding)

  • proxy suits r a pain in the ass. they get ruined quick cuz they start flaking off.

  • @airforceFIREFIGHTER1 i agree i like my structure gear much better

  • I have signed up to be a volunteer fire fighter in my local town since they need the people like me, so I pretty much got a part-time job, but will be about a week possibly before they get my regular physical with the docs. So I'm looking at the Air Force reserve, since that looks like the best option for becoming a fire-fighter.

  • go for it man. its fun. the military fire academy is tough tho. but its well worth it.

  • Ahh. I LOVE MY JOB!! :0)

  • At 1:24 does that handhled divice measure readiation levels?

  • Do military firefighters put out civilian fires?

  • Hey I have a question, is 21M a competitive MOS? and I have a family and I want to re-enlist, Previously I was 11b before my girlfriend had my Daughter, I was medically discharged after I got injured during training. I am able to re-enlist now but wish to do another MOS besides Infantry. I am looking at 21M and 31B... can you tell me how was your experience in this MOS battle?

  • The song on the video.

  • The artist is Day of Fire and the title is Through the Fire.

  • What song are you tlking about??

  • What is the name of the song?

  • yea, damage control will not be much like this at all. Its mostly just train and prevent. And when there is a fire, you'll spend most of your tim repairing what was damaged. hence the "damage" controlman.

  • I just switched to DC...and Im hoping this is what I'll be doing...anyone have any info on this?

  • I AM a "dc", and I can tell you this NOT what you do! All we do is train and teach retarded people who could give two shits about fire fighting and damage control how to do it. So good luck with that!!!

  • im here right now. i cant wait to start class

  • Used to be an Air Force Fire Instructor at Chanute AFB, Illinois before it closed in '93.

Great Fire program in the service. Just listen to what they say and you will soon be ahead of most civilian departments.

  • What years were you an instructor at Chanute??? I went through there Jul 91-Sept 91. I graduated right after the Labor day holiday. If you were instructor then what block did you teach???

  • I was there from '90-'93, taught I, II, III.

SSgt. Arbone.... '91 would have been block I, II.

    Hope your doing well!!!!!

  • No Shit!!! I remember ya!!!! I ended up staying in the USAF till 2000. I was stationed at Hanscom AFB MA, Ruppertweiler NATO SWHQ Germany, Ellsworth AFB SD, King Abdul Aziz AB KSA.

Now I'm a Civilian Firefighter in VERMONT.

When I was going through Chanute I was A1C Whitehill.

  • No shit!!! I remember ya. This is A1C Whitehill (at my time in Chanute LOL). I staying in till 2000. Now I'm a Civilian Firefighter in VT!!!!

  • Sorry it took a bit of time responding, how have you been?

  • Been doing well. Miss the Military firefighting but still can't beat the civilian life. LOL. I'm very surprised I was never called back up after 9/11. I had lots of friends that were reactivated.

  • Didn't you guys have SSgt.Segee (mispelled) teaching block 4 back then in 90 and 91 along with a Sgt.Hillshire? went through in 90 graduated Nov 90. A1c Braxton when i went through. Still have fond memories of the school and the Hitchingpost!!

  • yep, right after I got there, both of them were there. Don't remember to much about them, but remember the names.

    Hope your doing well.

  • How about going to Bradley's!!!

  • I'm going into the Navy as a Damage Controlman, not to sure if this will be similar to my job or not, but, if so, then this kicks ass. =)
