The studies I've seen, as referenced by Dr. Lowery of Iron Radio, say that steady state, fasted cardio with just a little protein powder and some green tea is really effective for subcutaneous fat loss. Beyond that for diabetics and obese people it literally helps train your fat burning metabolism. Fwiw
@orochimaruisugly bcaa of 10g is enough to cause enough insulin spike to put you out of the fasted state it is not as great as you would expect from 10g glucose but it is enough to get you out of that fasted state
Is there any research that says that the liver depletes its glycogen stores overnight? I read this was false and that because sleeping is such a low intensity activity, it just burns fat as fuel instead of glycogen.
I don't know how credible the source was though so your opinion would be appreciated. :)
Depends...if your on a med-low carb diet, the next morning your gonna barely have any gas left in the tank. You can think of it like the liver is the tank any glycogen is gas, and if you put enough gas in the tank...it will last a couple of days, but it takes 24-48 hours fasted to completely empty your liver stores.
@deolm That's what I would have thought considering insulin levels during rest state are low, but again that doesn't really regard glycogen consumption fully.

Ingesting 10g of BCAA's prevents muscle breakdown during your workout in a fasted state. So then you're getting pure fat burning.

@adityajuneja7 No it wont. BCAA are building blocks of protein. They have no relevence to glucose whatsoever. Check out leangains . com
