The problem with our current healthcare scheme isnt that there are a lot of poor people on it. Its that there are a bunch of middl;e class people who are giving their assets away before the go on medicare so they seem poor on paper. Those best able to afford healthcare are dragging down the system. Face it, its scumbag republicans with their greedy love of money and scorn for their fellow Americans that are causing yet another mess. What losers.
why is this video have the exclusive status to be the first video you see when going to the news section??????????? 1,842 view .. big whoop !! and it has less then 3 stars for a rating .. soo u know what that mean.. it means this video sucks!! and should not be on the front page of the news!!! because its nothing more then an advertisement!~
CAP AND TRADE is going to Senate floor tommorow. This is the most destructive legislation in history. It will cost American's $2 trillion over the next years in higher energy cost. CALL OR WRITE YOUR SENATOR TODAY. VOTE NO! I don't want to pay $8 per Gal for gas like other Countries who have this kind of energy tax. PLEASE STOP THEM!
Hey, communist republican that is bought off by lobbyists and special interest groups. I lost my job in 2006 because health care, our health care added to much to the bottom line, we couldn't compete with over seas or mexico. again you have no credibility. Its time to start charging them with lies and misrepresentation
Experts say just allowing purchacing across State lines would give 17 million access to affordable care. State that have done trot reform have lower healthcare cost. Those two things could be done w/o raising anyones taxes and would do as much to get the uninsured insured as the big Government plan and lower cost by increasing competition. There are several regulations and mandates that should be changed to increase competition and put healthcare dollars in the hands of the people.
THIS is FEARMONGERING!! FEAR, FEAR, FEAR , FEAR!! POCKETBOOKS AND PAYCHECKS are ALREADY BEING NEGATIVELY AFFECTED as well as peoples lives(LITERALLY). Insurance premiums are RISING EVERY YEAR ANYWAY TO CREATE MORE PROFIT. PASS THE DAMN BILL!
The problem is the CBO says these bills will raise cost even more and lower our quality of care. Even the public option premiums would have to be high to pay for all the bureacracy of 53 new Government offices and hundreds of Government workers. Some of the mandates will raise cost forever
The ONLY thing that will be CUT is the health insurance OUTRAGEOUS PROFITS and YOUR CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS. PASS THE DAMN BILL!!!!! HAVE YOUR INSURANCE SALESMEN GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND TRAIN IN HEALTHCARE. THERE WILL BE A TREMENDOUS OPPORTUNITY FOR WORK THERE!
Insurance Companies have monopolies in each State and City. Given to them by you Government officials. If they had competition nationwide they would be forced to lower prices. All these plans being proposed do nothing to cut cost of healthcare insurance, services and charges. Until healthcare dollars are in consumers hands and consumers drive prices cost will keep rising. Sorry but profits are what gives incentivies to develope new technology and inovations. U.S. has the best in medical field.
This guy is such an asshole; to prey on peoples ignorance about healthcare then spread misinformation. The whole point is that it is an OPTION so dont take it if you dont want to. Stop your bitching about spending your tax dollars on the bottom 10% uninsured because its going to come from the top 1% of the wealthiest. Not to mention the GOP supports Gang Rape.
The only people against Health-care are those with-it. I just watched one of my BEST Friends die at Home Sat. nite because it was to expensive too die at the Hospital. Oh yea, seeing a Friend die without having to give his house away to the Hospital or Bill collectors so his wife and children would have aplace to live in after his death. Yes people with Health care Congress ect. Bet they don't die at home too save the HOME for their kids ????
Yes we need to do somthing to get those that don't have it covered, but without risking the very vast majority that do have it.
Got to reign in the cost, government controll has never been good at that on anything.
Also, government coverage will NOT be anywhere as good as private. Not even close, so far it's designed to make do till you can get "real" coverage. Why should another 5-10% of total US income go to a program like that?
if 90% had healthcare and only 10% don't. The government should step in and take total conrtol over healthcare for only 105. People keep forgetting that out of the 10% that are not on healthcare. 5% of them make the money to be on healthcare. Which is even dumber to have gov. take total control only because of 5%. and of that 55, if given a piss test wouldn't past or are so unhealth because of their eatten habats.
let's give drug screens, back ground checks for citizenship, no one on welfare, no gang members, no drug dealers, no one behind on child support, no one late on their house payment.
We Americans are getting sick and tired of supporting the illegal and lazy and worthless.
Death is a part of life. It's hard loosing a friend & I would never belittle your pain. but you need to realize weather he died in a hospital or at home the outcome was inevitable. Many people choose to die at home, Hopefully your friend was being taken care of by hospice so he was at least comfortable in the end.
where is your omnipotent private sector?, all of a sudden there is an emergency and it's 'whoa is me, where is the gubment wif my swine flu vaccine?' republicans are either hypocrites or morons on the health insurance reform issue, ask this guy why it is so unprofitable for all of us to have what HE has. or is he refusing his 'gubment cheese'. this idiots first answer for the uninsured is 'look for a government program' MEDICARE FOR ALL AS A RIGHT OF CITIZENSHIP!
LOL you are clueless. I'd like to hear your justification on your last statement. you just said because you are a citizen you are entitled to a portion of my pay check. second medicare is going bankrupt as it is.even before this depression hit the entitlement programs were going under, watch a movie called I.O.U.S.A
Your words are meaningless to Americans. This country is moving forward with or without you. You can't lead, won't follow, just get out of the way. Everyone feels this except you and people are now really seeing you for who and what you represent: tho old days are gone and America doesn't care about your feelings. Either follow what the majority needs and wants or "just get out of the way...
These liberals are screwing up our economy! this health care reform will not only kill the private sector but the government will dictate who gets to live and who doesn't basically. If this thing passes, you give up your right to life and your right to privacy! It's just that simple. Real Americans shouldn't trust Obama with their money or their LIFE for crying out loud! Mark my words when this passes our tax dollars will go to the health of illegals and potheads sitting on the couch all day.
Our crazy country: Students forced to buy health insurance. Drivers and car owners forced to buy insurance. Home owners force fed water and power and trash collection services that are contracted by government authorities. Public school paid for by taxpayers that don't have kids. Your house burns and you're not allowed to tell the fire department not to put it out. But if you get sick and you don't want to pay the fees you will be allowed to die. And the GOP argues against "the right to die"?
It looks that insurance companies will stand to make huge gains when it's mandated.
And, you're right, we only need to fix what is broke, which is a long list. Such examples are, bogus lawsuits, State-to-State restrictions, and denial of coverage due to pre-existing conditions.
Tort reform will only reduce costs by less then 1%.
Lifting state restrictions won't work because there are already only a handful of private insurance companies - they just use different names in different states. If you lift the restriction, you'll just have a handful of companies monopolizing the whole market nationwide.
And if you make them not deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, no one will buy insurance until their sick.
Who said that we couldn't make it illegal to deny coverage? I mean, you are so willing for me to be mandated to buy insurance and pay for every nigger and mexican, why not make the insurance companies do it? Wouldn't that "stick it to the man" better than the other way you're trying for?
There isn't gonna be a that day. The tyranny upon us has been building, one brick at a time. They have no plans for that day. Things are progressing just fine for the people at Treason Incorporated. What matters to them is the slow erosion of our constitutional republic and its equally slow replacement with their administrative regime. Any militia waiting for that day will find themselves surrounded by a brick wall of tyranny out of which they will no longer be able to shoot.
Republicans act so dedicated to defending medicare yet when President Johnson was working on it they voted no and used the same rhetoric like they are using now. I believe this new health care plan will pass, and 30 years from now the Republicans will be bitching and accusing the Democrats of trying to taking it away.
LOL, you would think the GOP would be tired of being on the wrong side of every single social issue, year after year, decade after decade. And then they wonder why the rest of the world sees them as knuckle draggers, racists, biggots, and so on. Maybe this is why they are all so angry?
Either way, once again the dems will deliver (healthcare), and eventually it too will be a right coveted by all Americans, and once again the right will go down as the party that opposed it tooth and nail.
Well, to the Repubs defense, you dick sucking nigger lovers would not have a DEM party if they cared about social issues i.e. taking care of people that won't take personal responsibility.
Then we we would really have only 1 true party, just like China. Which is what you want anyways right?
And that's overlooking the fact that we really only have 1 party because both are the same. Do you liberals really believe that "your party" cares about you? lol What a joke, this country is dead.
LOL, it's always so easy to get you right wing loons to expose you true racist selves, but man that was TOO EASY!!! LMAO!!!
That being said, here's the deal:
Both parties want power, and they want your money. But at least with the Dems you'll get something out of it - healthcare, schools, safety nets like SS, etc...
The republicans just want to have it all and leave you for dead.
It makes ZERO sense for the vast majority of Americans to ever vote Republican.
You're not discovering anything. I am a White separatist. What of it?
I don't want social programs. None of those work. You think we're getting SS when we hit 65? You think our public schools are something to be proud of? Healthcare? Really? You think it's going to be good? I know what it will be like, it will be like the VA. That means, we're fucked.
I have a feeling that you and the rest of you fucks are going to be "eating a nice big bullet" very soon.
If you don't already know it's coming, you're dumber than I thought and very out of touch with your surroundings. But go ahead, stay distracted by petty political bullshit on the tv.
Meanwhile almost 2 BILLION rounds of ammo were sold this year and MILLIONS of firearms.
Maybe you can save yourself with "hugs and tolerance". lol
You mean all the friends you have posting on your profile? lol
I could care less what you say. Especially after reading the comments on your profile from your "friends". I know who you are, fragile, faggot liberal.
But glad to see that you used my views on race to get off topic though, nice one. Race card saves the day once again huh?
I'm not a supremacist, I said I am a White separatist.
And you are playing the race card, because as soon as I brought it up you made it a race issue. We all know liberals hate Whitey, no need for the daily reminder in here, this is about healthcare.
Typical GOP fearmongering, strawman argument for the ignorant masses.
The question should be, "will doing nothing improve your life"?
But the Republicans can never win an argument on facts, only on scaring people with bumber sticker slogans and vague descriptions of impending doom.
Without fear and hate, there would be no republican party, and that's a fact. The party itself has literally never done a THING for America or the "lower 95%"...ever, period.
Sorry, but it was the northern liberals who forced the Civil Rights, signed by a Democratic President.
That being said, you are correct about the republicans in congress (in the NORTH) voting for it, but of course that was not the Republican Party that exists now. In fact, it was this action by LBJ that drove the "racist" members of the democrats (in the south) over to the Republican side of the house, thereby creating the modern day racist south owned and coddled by the Republican party.
Sorry yourself Rob but, what a pile of BS. If Republicans were the party of racism then Wallace beat Nixon in 68. Do you remember that happening? Democrats are the party that still have a klan member searving in the senate. The Democrat racist party was split between Wallace and Humphrey as late as 1968 and most southern dems would never have joined the party of Lincoln.
There's an old saying, "Not all Republicans are racists, but all racists are Republicans"...or maybe you think black & minority hating rednecks are Democrats! LOL!
Here's the bottom line - the south (old confederate) is still largely racist. I mean Crist they still have segregated Proms in certain places!
So whoever rules the south is a party that must pander to racists, it's no more complicated then that. 50 years ago it was the Dems, since then it's been the Repubs - end of story.
So Democrat and Klan member Robert Byrd who is still in the senate and is reputed to still drop the N word around his staff; whats your excuse for him? I drive bus through Kenwood in Minneapolis. Their was an Obama sign in every yard last year but if a black man so much as walks down a street after dark (and they can see its not Alan Page) they flip out and call the cops. Liberal dems will keep the average black man in poverty forever.
Robert Bryd decried the klan and all they stand for what, 50 years ago? Is that the best you got? And where is Bryd from? West Virginia of course, which once again just proves my point - you can't govern the south without either being a racist, condoning it, or be willing to look the other way - that's just a fact.
As for your story about Kenwood, that may be true, but in the south instead of calling the cops the good old boys are more likely to beat the shit out of the "nigger" or worse.
He has used the word Nigger in TV interviews less than 50 years ago; a lot less. SSI is broke and the government both republican or dem refuses to fix it. Medicare is broke. The post office needs a bailout of 7 billion. You still have not explained why Wallace didn't win in 68. Lastly. Punch up a song called "rednecks" by Randy Newman. You might learn somthing if you listen closely.
LOL, SSI is not "broke", that's just the right wing talking point that has been repeated ad naseum by your puppet-masters. SSI is probably the most successful social program ever, that's why they hate it so much. Sure, the baby boomers retiring will cause a temporary funding issue, but there are a plenty of simple remedies for that.
Obviously the post office is suffering because of the internet.
Medicare is not "broke", just underfunded because we'd rather spend money on bogus wars.
Hey Rob. You are avoiding the 1968 election. Whatsamatter rob? No answer to that? Ask the nurse when she brings your meds. Maybe she can help you with that one.
Listen my little right wing imbecile - Wallace was a 3rd party candidate who NEVER had a shot at the presidency and he knew it, that was not his agenda.
However, he STILL DID BEAT NIXON (and Humphrey) in 5 states in the south with his racist, pro-segregation speeches., and remains the only 3rd party candidate to actually win electorial votes.
So once again you've proved my point that its' the south that is full of racists - the republicans coddle them to this today
If republicans were the racist you claim they are then Wallace should have been an easy win especially over Nixon. Facts are stubburn little things Rob but you'll need to learn to work with them unless you plan on being a democrat propagandist all your life.
Time Magazine. Aug 17 1925; 50,000 Klansman marched down Pennsylvania Ave. Most of them were from the NORTH Tex had only 200 in the march. Pittsbourgh alone had over 2000. Most of the southern states were not represented.
Rob. You're spewing a bunch of crap that can easily be debunked by andybody with a high school education. You're a tool for the democrat party and I hope you're atleast on the payroll. I'm sure you title is something like Lie Repeater or youtube BS'er.
Well then I guess you don't have a high school education, cause not only have you not debunked a single thing I've said, you've made an ass of yourself trying. But that's what happens when a right winger tries to speak outside of their memorized taking points.
LOL, you think it's a coincidence Limbaugh never does live debates or even has guests? or why all forms of right wing media MUST BE controlled 24/7 by the right?
Because their bullshit is way to easy to expose in an open forum.
LMAO, moron, I never said ALL Republicans were racist, I said ALL racist are Republicans.
And then I went on to say that the majority of that racism existed in the south, the old Confederate states, as it still does today, and that any party that controls those regions MUST be sympathetic to racist or they simply wouldn't get elected.
With that in mind, Wallace DID win 5 confederate states, but he didn't win the northern or midwestern states.
Rob. You have proved nothing except that you are a man (maybe) absent of logic. The republican candidate that year was Nixon and he won. The south was traditionally democrat and they went for Wallace. BTW. Wallace was later re-elected as the Gov of Alabama with many blacks voting for him. BTW. Where does the black man face the most danger, poverty and black on black crime? Its an easy one! In any city run by Democrats,
Buddy, you are all over the place - what exactly is your point? I already stated that the south was democratic leading up to the Civil RIghts legislation - duh. However, it quickly turned REPUBLICAN AFTER that legislation as the racist dems moved to the Republican side and the Repubs continued to be symapthetic to pro-segregationalists & the like. You asked why Wallace didn't beat Nixon - HE DID, IN 5 STATES IN THE SOUTH. But of course he didn't win in the north or any other civilized region.
If republicans were the racist that you claim they are then they would have jumped at the chance to elect a white segragationist as president. As history will show; They did not. You want racism? Democrats aligned with teachers unions to keep black children in failing public schools. Example; Obama ended the DC voucher program. Democrats who created the welfare system that keeps blacks in poverty and rewards women to have children out of wedlock. Democrats are the black persons worst enemy.
I never said ALL Republicans are racists - they are not - but the south most certainly is - that's why Wallace won there. I mean c'mon, is it your honest contention that whites who hate blacks, gays, mexicans, arabs, or any other minority are DEMOCRATS today? LMAO, please!!!
Oh, and now you are saying it's the Dems fault that "blacks fail in school"? What happened to personal responsibility?
P.S - there are far more white people on welfare then blacks. Of course you didn't know that.
First Democrats owned slaves then a Republican president ended that. Next you tormented them and lynched them and confined them to segregated schools and neighborhoods. You charged them Poll taxes so they couldn't vote. Now you control them through welfare and limits on education. It's all about control. You love to control people. You claim that Republicans want to control what goes on in the bedroom but, you try to control everything outside of it.
On the welfare and whites you are only telling half the story. When you look at long term use of welfare and multi-generational cases the picture is more lopsided. In proportion to their population their is not as large a percentage of whites on welfare as blacks. In Minnesota their is another factor. 44% of black men date outside their race. If it results in a young white mother that ends up on welfare can you really blame a white male?
I just want to know why you inbred republican hillbillies had to carve Fed into the chest of that census worker and lynch him like that. Are you all filthy animals?
Sen. Mike Johanns (R-NE) is confusing the health care issue. A public option, that funds itself, will be available at a far lower rate, for all consumers!
Insurance companies will have to lower their rates to compete. The threat of raising rates is just that, a threat.
Sen. Johanns is being bribed, (contributions), by the insurance lobby, to say what will scare constituents. Most politicians are out for themselves, who cares about you?
People that sign-up! I do not know what the final draft will include.
ex: Everyone, that paid into the plan, will not fall ill at once. If I was paying $200,00 a month, and now paid $20,00 a month, the middle man, insurance carrier, would have to lower their rates. Insurance companies exist for profit. The government is a non-profit underwriter, since it exists as a (citizen) self-exclusive entity. No HMO's and related profit entities. The people win.
$20 a month seems kind of low don't you think? Seriously, if Everyone that has preexisting conditions that can't get coverage is in this plan, I would think that $500 a month wouldn't cover it & that would be if everyone paid into it. let's say half can pay, your premium would be $1,000 a month. the numbers just don't seem right. do you have a rough draft?
No, actually it is kind of high, if multiplied times all of the eligible citizens, per month. That plus a co-pay, say $10,00 per visit. Give that a low percentage, say 20% of total population needing to visit the doctor, per month, and add that up.
Do you have a total? O.K. That is nothing to the hand-over-fist profit the insurance corporations make, and when you do make a claim, they figure crafty ways to deny you/us coverage. Plus your rates will be going up!
this is going to be a short debate because you are the only one with the information on your proposed solution into our health care insurance problem. I was just pointing out some obvious problems with your proposal. My Ignorance is not Voluntary, you haven't supplied the information outside of an example & the numbers on that example seem kinda low. .........
I am not the one in a position to debate this, for that you would need someone who possibly works for an insurance company & makes the payouts to the doctors or someone who is willing to do a lot of research for the sake of debate. I am pointing out areas you obviously missed when you came up with an assumption that Heath care Insurance could cost $20 a month with a $10 deductible.
The insurance industry will lie, to me. They own prostitutes, (most elected officials), in the brothel of fools, (Congress).
Some politicians are expound the idea of interstate insurance. They are lying.
The FACT: insurance companies have been sharing liability nation wide, for decades, and now globally.
You want to talk about the NWO, or one currency, the insurance companies are part of the scheme. The word is oligarchy; the few in control of the masses.
If you believe in the NWO, why would you trust the Government with your health? you are obviously informed but I don't think you made all the connections yet.
I Agree with your view of corporatism, the current health care Insurance "for profit" corporations are bleeding us slowly.
But putting health care Insurance in the hands of government is worse, they have the power to take your money at the business end of a gun.
Obama won the election by promising to give you social programs, socialism will only create more poor people that depend on big government, which will grow the size of government & create more poor people....... it's a never ending cycle that will leave us living under a tyranny.
Distribution of wealth is theft, robin hood was a thief not a hero. we need to stop the politicians from being able to buy votes with taxpayer funds, not grow the system that allows it to happen.
There is good and bad in every thing, and every one. Can you name good things our government has done, for us? Good things are taken for granted and forgotten. Bad things are focused upon. The percentage of, "happy," news stories is low, compared to our nation's troubles. Would you agree?
Redistribution of wealth is a hoax. No one said take from the rich, albeit the lies you believe. If whomever earned their money, HONESTLY, I have no issue.
Honestly, a constitutional federal government is the only good government. it provides the basic services needed & leaves the rest to the states to decide. want socialism - Move to a blue state, want capitalism - Move to a red state. it would end the bickering going on now.
why do you think Redistribution of wealth is a lie? Even Obama understands Redistribution of wealth (thanks for adding the Re) I have a audio clip where he talks about it on my page.
You are mixing objectivity with ideology. Our Constitution stands as an objective charter.
Federalism is part of a state, or government function. The Constitution was established to protect the individual.
You may have the money to move to a red state, I do not.
Redistribution is a scare tactic. If you are being gauged by your ins. co., would you want to pay less? Competition lowers prices, not that the product is worth an overinflated higher price.
I just hope something gets done....If they have to raise my taxes, I hope they raise them for something that actually benefits ME.
I'm personally tired of my taxes going to fighting a WAR with a bunch of overhypers "lets blow ourselfs up and anybody who disagrees with us" muslims.....
Just curious, most are paying $10,000+ a year for insurance, not including co=pays and shit not covered. So unless they raise your taxes that much, which they certainly won't, how could you come out worse with a public option?
We universally say "YES" we need reform but does not suggest alternate plans that are better. He's really saying -Just stay the course!
He mentions 10% Unemployment......At least the unemployed will be able to get healthcare rather than burdening a cash strapped ER
He mentions Health Savings Accounts. Who really uses them? And with raising costs, would it ever help someone in a car accident involving TRAUMA?.....Talk about account WIPEOUT! Russia Roulette there!
Medical savings accounts for things like strep throat, shots or an earache coupled with catastaphic insurance for accidents or severe illness is a great plan especialy for young men. Niether of these options is in the current plan.
But Catastrophic Insurance with a health savings account does not enact preventative care unless the young person is in the health profession or is very smart (rare among our young males)
Things like a yearly physical will tend to be bypassed in order to save money. Mammograms and colonoscopies will be bypassed
Youll save money BUT now youre at greater risk to use the Catastrophic Insurance.
It is widely agreed upon preventative medicine is BEST. GOP Plan DOESN'T
So do you plan to suggest people get yearly check-up or will they just arrest us and drag us in? Free people have the right to make poor choices. The mistake has been forcing the taxpayers pay for the bad choices of others.
You MUST take your car in once a year for inspection, right? Why?
If your biggest fear is your (unsubstantiated) fear that the gov't will "make you get an annual check up"....I think you've allowed ideology to cloud your judgement.
No I do not have to take my car in for inspection. My state trust's me to take care of my own car. What police state do you live in? Lets all try something called personal responsability and stop demanding that the government take care of us.
"Personal Responsibility" is a typical conservative bumper sticker slogan that sounds just great, but as a matter of practicality is both horrifically immoral and economically suicidal as a matter of actual policy.
The health insurance problem is a perfect example - It's the individual's "personal responsibility" to buy insurance right? But of course millions don't, and as a result healthcare costs are bankrupting the country thanks largely to the cost of services to the uninsured.
LOL, why am I not surprised that a right wing loon who can only parrot right wing slogans has no brain of his own and is incapable of comprehending even the most basic and rational statements.
Stick with Limbaugh, Back, Hannity & Fox kid...you're a lost cause.
It boils down to this - dealing with reality, or dealing in fantasy.
Of course we would ALL like it if everyone just did the right thing - worked hard, saved their money, helped each other out when needed, etc..., but that's just not the reality.
It's like Social Security. Without it you'd have millions of 65+ year olds homeless. It's easy to say, "well they should have saved", but it's also naive to not realize millions won't, and the moral and economic drain on society that would cause.
I got mine! If you don't have yours because of a pre-existing condition or loss of job - SCREW YOU - GO CRAWL OFF AND DIE SOMEWHERE. I won't support any plan that doesn't put more billions into the Insurance Companies!
There is an old saying that if you grab a republican by the balls and twist, their hearts and minds will follow. Force is the only thing You filthy animals understand.
I agree we need to reform health care, but not with this bill, this is a fast track to bankrupcy for all of us.
No one is talking about tort reform, or any previous legislation that was passed to keep the costs high with special interest groups. Lets reform whats on the books first.
Goverment has no business competing with the privite sector, this is unconstitutional.
What are your premiums like? Ours have more than doubled in seven years.
Every other industrialized nation on earth has some form of national health care.
I have friends who have lost jobs through no fault of their own (layoffs, and closures) who have lost health care and can't afford policies on unemployment.
Tort reform should be looked into, but what is you went in for an appendectomy and they cut off your arm? Should you be able to sue?
I agree that something should be done about HC, Like for instance governing down the middle as promised. The reps have produced of 300 bills, from the tort reform to health savings accounts, and yet none have made it through the house.
Thank you GOP! What America needs is more DEBATE CENSORSHIP and FOR PROFIT HEALTH CARE taken directly from our pay checks. Give us ANDERSON COOPER and the CPD every day because we love him. I must have voted for A PRIVATE CORPORATION BEING USED TO CENSOR OUR DEBATES FOR PUBLIC OFFICE didn't I? Now that's what I'm looking forward to in the next election. Give us ANDERSON COOPER FOR PRESIDENT or at least a Palin/Cooper ticket with ZERO HUMAN RIGHTS because I'm a robot. Who needs Health Care?
Niether the democrats nor the republicans really care about anything other than themselves. The debate over health care reform is about health insurance, the republicans are against reform because the dems want it, and if the reps. were for it, the dems would be against it. This is all party politics and who is going to take us to bankruptcy first, Obama or the next rep president. We must elect a completly NEW government starting NOW. Do not vote for an incumbent, even if a relative.
To Endthefedres, if what you say is true, how come countries with a public option like Dinmark, France, England, don't have banckupcy due to health care?..no country in the world (the real world) has a familly bankrupt due to medical bills..
No your right, countries like Denmark, France and England dont have bankruptcy issues due to health care directly. They have bankruptcy issues to the taxes that they are paying for health care and other endless taxes that they pay to their governments
I would also like to add that America once had the "gold standard" of medical care. Then our greedy government got involved. Now prices are skyrocketing.
Modern Republican representatives want monopolies to run our society.
Modern Democratic representatives want the monopolies to be renamed "government" institutions. It doesn't matter what the Repubs or the Democrats say they want to do because they are both controlled by international banks. The banks decide which projects congress passes, will get funding, so they also decide which projects will be proposed. Politicians are only salesmen for the international banks.
What a joke! While he's being so honest with us, why not add how many times he's been visited by the evil lobbyists of corporate America. If these politicians think we are that stupid still, what a joke! Also where is his evidence, it all sounds like an opinion the Health Industry paid for! Republicans and Democrats, let's stop fighting, greedy corporations are the real enemies here. We are all equally being hurt by their greed and disrespect for us. Unify around Democracy!
Both parties are completely corrupt and there is no difference between them except for they're rhetoric. The only way we are going to see any real change is if we hold our elected representatives feet to the fire and demand that they follow the constitution. And if they don't we simply peacefully refuse to cooperate with them through civil disobedience. The alternative is to keep voting for more corrupt democrats and republicans and watch as we collapse into a third world hell hole.
This socialist attempt to take over our county will cause more trouble than you understand. Your handlers have convinced you that all that these tea party's are a small fringe group, but this movement is real. The republicans don't understand it either.
They want you to die just because you don't have health care.
They only trust Private Insurance and you've seen what they have done. Bankrupted about everyone who comes in contact with them along with our country.
As far as I'm concerned, the GOP will need years of bi-partisanship and doing the right thing to ever get me to believe in them. They have never been on the right side of history.
If the rebulican party would be honest with themselves and America and tell the truth that they don't want to help the people least likely to contribute to their sorry campaigns. The least likely being the less fortunate and bankrupted!
Only the ignorant believe anything the Cato institute says. Cato is a group of anarchists in business suits who want to dismantle government and replace it with a corporate hegemony.
If the GOP couldn't control spending despite having all 3 branches of government, and private industry can't control health care costs despite being in control for the past 70 years, why should we believe they hold the solutions?
what value does the health insurance industry contribute to the US economy? They don't build or design anything, they don't add to scientific understanding or education, they don't improve telecommunication or transportation.
What am I missing? What value does the health insurance industry add to the US economy?
They've spent $250million recently in lobbying and advertising against reform and I still don't know what they add (but I do like the gecko and duck)
Im not 100 percent sure but i read somewhere yeasterday they are lowering the amount of money that can go into flexable spending acounts to like 2500.00 in the healthcare plan.
If thats true, this guy saided that program will be ended. He says this at 0.53 seconds into video.
much better ideas are needed. Americans have the right to a choice. How is it going to be better when you still have to pay, you will me forced to buy it, your taxes will increase.
aw f$ck thats all you people want is taxes dont matter rep/dem I call them republacrats same bird different wing with stupid tricks working hard to tax the hell out of us all
Go to cato. org and look at the study the grass is not always greener. Learn for yourself other Countries healthcare systems. We have 300 million people. Universal care would break the bank.
I'd rather have them do nothing then what they are proposing. These plans are going to tax the hell out of you, but they dont want you to notice how much. So they are going to tax employers and insurance companies, and theyre going to pass the taxes on to you. Most of the taxes wont even show up in the governments budget. Its all very clever. In the end it is a tax and spend that will cost all of us. None of them deal with the reasons for high cost or fixing the broken system.
I don't want to give my $ to a corporation that must make profits for Wall Street, they will be motivated to over charge me and deny coverage. I'd rather deal w/ incompetence and bureaucracy than the profit motive in that case
rube; You say that you would rather deal with incompetence and bureaucracy than the profit motive, will you say the same thing if, or when you need medical care, I think not. The "Public Option", run by the gov., which has proven it cannot manage anything other than its own pay increases, and can operate at a deficit, will force private health insurers out of business, thereby creating a monopoly and making its own rules on who recieves care, and who will not, and we will pay for it.
that is total crap. The health insurance industry is currently not subject to anti-trust regulations. There is no straight line from here to gov't monopoly, the industry is out of balance but more than that: They don't ADD anything to the US economy.
They take a profit cut between people and their doctors while adding nothing to the equation, they don't build or design anything, add to science or education or transportation nor telecommunication. What does the industry add to the economy?
What has the gov ever added to the economy? Take for instance a gov job, the money that person makes comes directly out of private sector. Replacing private jobs with gov jobs does just that. Not to mention, as someone who used to be employed in ins. They have to maintain a payout ratio of 80% What government program has ever been run that efficient? That 20% margin covers wages, overhead, retirement, and yes HC for those who work for the ins company.
During the depression, government instituted the Civilian Conservation Corps; which put millions of people to work building and maintaining our infrastructure. Highway system.
The Park Service, and Interior Department do a fantastic job protecting and maintaining our National Parks.
The original GI Bill returned to the economy something like $7 for every $1 spent on providing education and career services to our troops returning from WWII.
Great, I thuroughly appreciate this point, because the spending drove us down to mid depression levels, hence the reason that his approval rating drop still eclipses the "great BHO"
But I challenge you to the citations of the stanford economists, and basically every enomist who doesn't perscribe to socialisiam, that over spending over elongates economic recession. come on, I teach an econ class, perhaps u should attend?
So any economist that prescribes socialism must be discounted from consideration...got it. The Market is not magic, it is not God and it not a law of nature. It is a man-made construct which must be regulated to some degree.
You want science? Look at carbon's historic effects on earth's atomosphere.
rube; "they take a profit cut betweeh people and thier doctors while adding nothing", the insurers pay, even if the bill is, in many cases, more than the insuree paid the insurer, which if you have ever been in the hospital, would know. "What does the industry add to the economy?", JOBS, for many people, payroll taxes to cities, states, and the fed., also social security tax, does that answer your question, or is all this over your fat head.
500 billion from medicare - false, it is only 219 billion over 10 years and a lot of that is cuts in giveaways to private insurance companies
The net impact on health care spending would be to lower spending
Health care tax claim - false, the so called Cadillac health care tax would only impact ~2% of all plans (those that cost ~2x the national avg) in existence today and may encourage companies to tailor their high end coverage to avoid the tax
Medicare/medicaid waste $1 to every $3 it spends on fraud and abuse. Is that a plan woth expanding? The Government already controls our healthcare system. They have passed the regulations and mandates that benefit themselves and the industry at the consumers expence. They have cut free market competition adding to higher cost. They've done a lousy jobs of keeping cost down. They even set the prices for 1/2 the heathcare sector directly the other 1/2 indirectly They are the reason for high cost
What does that have anything to do with this guy being a lier?
And yes too many of the Senators and Congressmen are corporate whores, but for some reason those same corporate whores (some Dems and the majority of the Rep, minus guys like Ron Paul) are fighting against this reform. Could it be because it threatens to tear down the screwed up system that these guys helped to build for their corporate masters?
We finally have a chance to stand up and help the consumers, hopefully start to get big businesses claws out of our government, and make them an agent of the people again. Don't let the corruption of the past be the enemy of the future. Don't be fooled by the rhetoric, the Republicans are not fighting for your interests. They are trying to protect their owners in the Health Care Industry.

Experts say just allowing purchacing across State lines would give 17 million access to affordable care. State that have done trot reform have lower healthcare cost. Those two things could be done w/o raising anyones taxes and would do as much to get the uninsured insured as the big Government plan and lower cost by increasing competition. There are several regulations and mandates that should be changed to increase competition and put healthcare dollars in the hands of the people.
quizerry 2 years ago
THIS is FEARMONGERING!! FEAR, FEAR, FEAR , FEAR!! POCKETBOOKS AND PAYCHECKS are ALREADY BEING NEGATIVELY AFFECTED as well as peoples lives(LITERALLY). Insurance premiums are RISING EVERY YEAR ANYWAY TO CREATE MORE PROFIT. PASS THE DAMN BILL!
lew708 2 years ago
The problem is the CBO says these bills will raise cost even more and lower our quality of care. Even the public option premiums would have to be high to pay for all the bureacracy of 53 new Government offices and hundreds of Government workers. Some of the mandates will raise cost forever

So tell me, what is the profit margin of the health insurance?
rainiertx 2 years ago
The ONLY thing that will be CUT is the health insurance OUTRAGEOUS PROFITS and YOUR CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS. PASS THE DAMN BILL!!!!! HAVE YOUR INSURANCE SALESMEN GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND TRAIN IN HEALTHCARE. THERE WILL BE A TREMENDOUS OPPORTUNITY FOR WORK THERE!
lew708 2 years ago

Yes people with Health care Congress ect. Bet they don't die at home too save the HOME for their kids ????

Some 90% of the population with healthcare.
Fitzcard 2 years ago
if 90% had healthcare and only 10% don't.

It looks that insurance companies will stand to make huge gains when it's mandated.
And, you're right, we only need to fix what is broke, which is a long list. Such examples are, bogus lawsuits, State-to-State restrictions, and denial of coverage due to pre-existing conditions.
LiberalHuntingSeason 2 years ago
Wrong again billybob.
See what research can do?
rob8910 2 years ago
Billybob? Um ok.

TruthSeeker1988 2 years ago
LOL, you would think the GOP would be tired of being on the wrong side of every single social issue, year after year, decade after decade. And then they wonder why the rest of the world sees them as knuckle draggers, racists, biggots, and so on. Maybe this is why they are all so angry?
Either way, once again the dems will deliver (healthcare), and eventually it too will be a right coveted by all Americans, and once again the right will go down as the party that opposed it tooth and nail.
rob8910 2 years ago
Right on!
TruthSeeker1988 2 years ago

LiberalHuntingSeason 2 years ago
Typical GOP fearmongering, strawman argument for the ignorant masses.
The question should be, "will doing nothing improve your life"?
But the Republicans can never win an argument on facts, only on scaring people with bumber sticker slogans and vague descriptions of impending doom.
Without fear and hate, there would be no republican party, and that's a fact. The party itself has literally never done a THING for America or the "lower 95%"...ever, period.
rob8910 2 years ago
LBJ may have signed the 1964 Civil rights bill into law but it took Republicans to get it past the racist Democrats in congress.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
Sorry, but it was the northern liberals who forced the Civil Rights, signed by a Democratic President.
That being said, you are correct about the republicans in congress (in the NORTH) voting for it, but of course that was not the Republican Party that exists now. In fact, it was this action by LBJ that drove the "racist" members of the democrats (in the south) over to the Republican side of the house, thereby creating the modern day racist south owned and coddled by the Republican party.
rob8910 2 years ago 3
Sorry yourself Rob but, what a pile of BS. If Republicans were the party of racism then Wallace beat Nixon in 68. Do you remember that happening? Democrats are the party that still have a klan member searving in the senate. The Democrat racist party was split between Wallace and Humphrey as late as 1968 and most southern dems would never have joined the party of Lincoln.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
There's an old saying, "Not all Republicans are racists, but all racists are Republicans"...or maybe you think black & minority hating rednecks are Democrats! LOL!
Here's the bottom line - the south (old confederate) is still largely racist. I mean Crist they still have segregated Proms in certain places!
So whoever rules the south is a party that must pander to racists, it's no more complicated then that. 50 years ago it was the Dems, since then it's been the Repubs - end of story.
rob8910 2 years ago
So Democrat and Klan member Robert Byrd who is still in the senate and is reputed to still drop the N word around his staff; whats your excuse for him? I drive bus through Kenwood in Minneapolis. Their was an Obama sign in every yard last year but if a black man so much as walks down a street after dark (and they can see its not Alan Page) they flip out and call the cops. Liberal dems will keep the average black man in poverty forever.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
Robert Bryd decried the klan and all they stand for what, 50 years ago? Is that the best you got? And where is Bryd from? West Virginia of course, which once again just proves my point - you can't govern the south without either being a racist, condoning it, or be willing to look the other way - that's just a fact.
As for your story about Kenwood, that may be true, but in the south instead of calling the cops the good old boys are more likely to beat the shit out of the "nigger" or worse.
rob8910 2 years ago
He has used the word Nigger in TV interviews less than 50 years ago; a lot less. SSI is broke and the government both republican or dem refuses to fix it. Medicare is broke. The post office needs a bailout of 7 billion. You still have not explained why Wallace didn't win in 68. Lastly. Punch up a song called "rednecks" by Randy Newman. You might learn somthing if you listen closely.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
LOL, SSI is not "broke", that's just the right wing talking point that has been repeated ad naseum by your puppet-masters. SSI is probably the most successful social program ever, that's why they hate it so much. Sure, the baby boomers retiring will cause a temporary funding issue, but there are a plenty of simple remedies for that.
Obviously the post office is suffering because of the internet.
Medicare is not "broke", just underfunded because we'd rather spend money on bogus wars.
rob8910 2 years ago
Hey Rob. You are avoiding the 1968 election. Whatsamatter rob? No answer to that? Ask the nurse when she brings your meds. Maybe she can help you with that one.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
Listen my little right wing imbecile - Wallace was a 3rd party candidate who NEVER had a shot at the presidency and he knew it, that was not his agenda.
However, he STILL DID BEAT NIXON (and Humphrey) in 5 states in the south with his racist, pro-segregation speeches., and remains the only 3rd party candidate to actually win electorial votes.
So once again you've proved my point that its' the south that is full of racists - the republicans coddle them to this today
Learn to read hick.
rob8910 2 years ago
If republicans were the racist you claim they are then Wallace should have been an easy win especially over Nixon. Facts are stubburn little things Rob but you'll need to learn to work with them unless you plan on being a democrat propagandist all your life.
Time Magazine. Aug 17 1925; 50,000 Klansman marched down Pennsylvania Ave. Most of them were from the NORTH Tex had only 200 in the march. Pittsbourgh alone had over 2000. Most of the southern states were not represented.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
Rob. You're spewing a bunch of crap that can easily be debunked by andybody with a high school education. You're a tool for the democrat party and I hope you're atleast on the payroll. I'm sure you title is something like Lie Repeater or youtube BS'er.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
Well then I guess you don't have a high school education, cause not only have you not debunked a single thing I've said, you've made an ass of yourself trying. But that's what happens when a right winger tries to speak outside of their memorized taking points.
LOL, you think it's a coincidence Limbaugh never does live debates or even has guests? or why all forms of right wing media MUST BE controlled 24/7 by the right?
Because their bullshit is way to easy to expose in an open forum.
rob8910 2 years ago
LMAO, moron, I never said ALL Republicans were racist, I said ALL racist are Republicans.
And then I went on to say that the majority of that racism existed in the south, the old Confederate states, as it still does today, and that any party that controls those regions MUST be sympathetic to racist or they simply wouldn't get elected.
With that in mind, Wallace DID win 5 confederate states, but he didn't win the northern or midwestern states.
That only PROVEs my point you imbecile.
rob8910 2 years ago
In any city run by Democrats,
mssedmebich 2 years ago
Buddy, you are all over the place - what exactly is your point? I already stated that the south was democratic leading up to the Civil RIghts legislation - duh. However, it quickly turned REPUBLICAN AFTER that legislation as the racist dems moved to the Republican side and the Repubs continued to be symapthetic to pro-segregationalists & the like. You asked why Wallace didn't beat Nixon - HE DID, IN 5 STATES IN THE SOUTH. But of course he didn't win in the north or any other civilized region.
rob8910 2 years ago
If republicans were the racist that you claim they are then they would have jumped at the chance to elect a white segragationist as president. As history will show; They did not. You want racism? Democrats aligned with teachers unions to keep black children in failing public schools. Example; Obama ended the DC voucher program. Democrats who created the welfare system that keeps blacks in poverty and rewards women to have children out of wedlock. Democrats are the black persons worst enemy.
mssedmebich 2 years ago

You claim that Republicans want to control what goes on in the bedroom but, you try to control everything outside of it.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
On the welfare and whites you are only telling half the story. When you look at long term use of welfare and multi-generational cases the picture is more lopsided. In proportion to their population their is not as large a percentage of whites on welfare as blacks. In Minnesota their is another factor. 44% of black men date outside their race. If it results in a young white mother that ends up on welfare can you really blame a white male?

You know, I highly doubt that you and I are very far apart - in fact, I bet we are very similiar.
I would bet that we both want the same things - roof over our heads, safe community for our children, honest work for an honest days pay, etc...
It's the same thing that EVERYONE in the world wants - yes, that includes Iranians & Iraqies & even Afghans.
I'll leave you with the only truth I know..

Fellow Tubelers,
It be it.
4u2b1ib12 2 years ago
How do you think a public option would fund itself? without tax dollars or subsidies?
davidpark68 2 years ago
davidpark68,
People that sign-up!
It be it.
4u2b1ib12 2 years ago
$20 a month seems kind of low don't you think? Seriously, if Everyone that has preexisting conditions that can't get coverage is in this plan, I would think that $500 a month wouldn't cover it & that would be if everyone paid into it. let's say half can pay, your premium would be $1,000 a month. the numbers just don't seem right. do you have a rough draft?
davidpark68 2 years ago
davidpark68,
No, actually it is kind of high, if multiplied times all of the eligible citizens, per month.
You?
4u2b1ib12 2 years ago
I don't have a total, I don't even know what plan your talking about.

davidpark68,
I am following a thread, in our debate. I did propose an example:(see previous posts).
I am not a prostitute, (POLITICIAN)! Bait and switch in debate is not an employed modus operandi, of mine.
I started with an example, AGAIN, SEE PREVIOUS POST!
HOLD-UP! My apologies. I have just realized your motivation: VOLUNTARY IGNORANCE!
You like being part of the crowd, and acceptance thereof. Go ahead, after you, be my guest.
This post ends our discussion.

4u2b1ib12 2 years ago
this is going to be a short debate because you are the only one with the information on your proposed solution into our health care insurance problem. I was just pointing out some obvious problems with your proposal. My Ignorance is not Voluntary, you haven't supplied the information outside of an example & the numbers on that example seem kinda low. .........
davidpark68 2 years ago
I am not the one in a position to debate this, for that you would need someone who possibly works for an insurance company & makes the payouts to the doctors or someone who is willing to do a lot of research for the sake of debate. I am pointing out areas you obviously missed when you came up with an assumption that Heath care Insurance could cost $20 a month with a $10 deductible.
davidpark68 2 years ago
davidpark68,
The insurance industry will lie, to me.
Best wishes.

davidpark68,
I did say, "say." The current view(s) are based on the free market, not a nationally underwritten health system.
Social Security is based on taxation of income: credit. A public option will be based on payment: debit. Talk to a tax whiz you know.
The opposite of ignorance is curiosity: my words. I separated public, and private facets.
Private ins. co. can raise your rates, the government won't

Best wishes.
4u2b1ib12 2 years ago
If you believe in the NWO, why would you trust the Government with your health? you are obviously informed but I don't think you made all the connections yet.
I Agree with your view of corporatism, the current health care Insurance "for profit" corporations are bleeding us slowly.
But putting health care Insurance in the hands of government is worse, they have the power to take your money at the business end of a gun.
davidpark68 2 years ago
Obama won the election by promising to give you social programs, socialism will only create more poor people that depend on big government, which will grow the size of government & create more poor people....... it's a never ending cycle that will leave us living under a tyranny.
Distribution of wealth is theft, robin hood was a thief not a hero. we need to stop the politicians from being able to buy votes with taxpayer funds, not grow the system that allows it to happen.
davidpark68 2 years ago
davidpark68,
There is good and bad in every thing, and every one.
Best wishes.
4u2b1ib12 2 years ago
Honestly, a constitutional federal government is the only good government. it provides the basic services needed & leaves the rest to the states to decide. want socialism - Move to a blue state, want capitalism - Move to a red state. it would end the bickering going on now.
why do you think Redistribution of wealth is a lie? Even Obama understands Redistribution of wealth (thanks for adding the Re) I have a audio clip where he talks about it on my page.
davidpark68 2 years ago
davidpark68,
You are mixing objectivity with ideology.
Best wishes.

Just curious, most are paying $10,000+ a year for insurance, not including co=pays and shit not covered. So unless they raise your taxes that much, which they certainly won't, how could you come out worse with a public option?
rob8910 2 years ago
Typical GOP, this one!
Russia Roulette there!
downthedrain08 2 years ago
Medical savings accounts for things like strep throat, shots or an earache coupled with catastaphic insurance for accidents or severe illness is a great plan especialy for young men. Niether of these options is in the current plan.
mssedmebich 2 years ago
It sounds GOP GREAT!
GOP Plan DOESN'T
downthedrain08 2 years ago
So do you plan to suggest people get yearly check-up or will they just arrest us and drag us in? Free people have the right to make poor choices. The mistake has been forcing the taxpayers pay for the bad choices of others.

mssedmebich 2 years ago
"Personal Responsibility" is a typical conservative bumper sticker slogan that sounds just great, but as a matter of practicality is both horrifically immoral and economically suicidal as a matter of actual policy.
The health insurance problem is a perfect example - It's the individual's "personal responsibility" to buy insurance right? But of course millions don't, and as a result healthcare costs are bankrupting the country thanks largely to the cost of services to the uninsured.

This guy is full of shit.
