I would think Buster was great, but everyone has there own opinion. This guy shouldn't call Buster a loser because it wouldn't be respectful too a guy that's dead.
@MuttleyMeen Hm, I remember that documentary and prefer the information closer to the source, so to speak. (Search for contemporary interviews and news features on the films.)
I'm not a fan of Chaplin, but it's wonderful that he still has them after so long. :D
@MuttleyMeen actually the routine was filmed on a girder setup built on top of another skyscraper - and the set-up was built very close to the edge...so it is a very dangerous stunt indeed.
And don't forget he lost the thumb and forefinger of his right hand in 1919 (he wears a leather glove with fake digits).and yet still did all those incredible stunts.
Chaplin at his best is superb - but Chaplin's weakness was always sentimentality and that marred a number of his films.
that was spectacular. I loved Mr Lloyds movies when I was a kid. That was indeed in the 80's as saisd below my comment. My favourite silent movie star. although his was one of the lucky actors who sounded fine for talkies later in the 30's. Quality performer and stunt man.
It is really a pitty that Lloyd is forgotten today. He was a genius! There was a kind of revival of his pictures in the mid-eighties. Maybe the internet can keep the memory alive. He was always very friendly to his fans!
Llyod played a great charicter and gave Chaplin a run for his money in a few instantes. This was one of his "Dare-devil" movies. He only did about three or four in his career, but he was mostly rememberd for "Safty Last".
He only had three fingers on his right hand when he did this movie.
Babe-l-icious! Harold had some sort of unique sexiness that transcends time. Can't even define it. He's sort of untouchable, not cuddly, but magnetic. Also very, very good at what he does!
You're SOoooo right! I love Harold Lloyd! I also think that women who like the "bad boy" type, usually don't think he's cute, but women who like the "nice guys"(like me), just think he's adorable!
omfg i seriously sad... and actually was unsure if he did make it..or what he was going to do...only movies making me feel that is jackie chans movies... damn now i know what jackie saw in harold xD very nice for posting;)

"If you can take your eyes off of Harold hanging off of the girders of a skyscraper in progress."
He didn't went on real skyscrapers. He used a platform trick/illusion still used today.
Search for Silent Clowns documentary.
He might have done more films but that doesn't mean they were better than Chaplins'

@Goldenthrush take a look at "HEY THERE" and you'll find a lot of Chaplins' gags.
I guess Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all.
