  • I like the song, thanks for saying something positive about Benton Harbor!!!!

  • Man look I was born and raised on jefferson hill , I remember back n the 90s when they was finding dead bodies in the hill side by my house . Most of them was hookers but it was ruff and shootings all the time . Ive seen pics tho from when it was better then st,joe .

  • History is history, it does not matter what the source is. This song and video is a little something I did in my spare time, as a hobby, I did not do this for money. If you have a problem with the words of the song don't listen to it.

  • Go to Wikipedia look up Benton Harbor, then listen to the first verse of this.

  • I lived in BH for more than 40 years. I've got a lot of good memories From the 70's & 80's but when I go back to visit now it is very depressing .

  • benton harbor used to look so amazing now it is just terrible i wish it looked like it used to.

  • 1907 Mercy Hospital opens in Benton Harbor

1951 Memorial Hospital opens in St. Joseph

1977 Merger of Mercy and Memorial creating Mercy-Memorial Medical Center

1986 Conversion of Mercy Hospital to Clinic Facilities

1992 Mercy-Memorial merges with Pawating Hospital in Niles, Michigan, forming Lakeland Regional Health System

    1994 Lakeland

  • ya you said it st joe unless you were born before 1951 if so you have nothung to say n e ways because benton harbor was not ritteled with the low lifes Sh** it the 60s my mom remembers being able to walk down the street with no fear very unlikely now

  • Get your facts straight.

Mercy Hospital, where my twin brother and I, and many members of my family were born, was located in Benton Harbor when I was born, so don’t call me stupid, stupid.

Below is an overview of the growth of Lakeland HealthCare:

    • 1907 Mercy Hospital opens in Benton Harbor

    • 1951 Memorial Hospital opens in St. Joseph

  • @mipafl

I agree that Mercy is in BH. I was born there in 1959 and lived on Union Street where Mercy was located until I moved in 1974. Memorial and Mercy are two different places for the one who called you wrong.

  • sorry but ne one stating they were born in the B.H is stupid as it is because mercy memorial hospital is in st. Joe sooooooooooooooo chek the map

  • @illfinyou

Sorry but Mercy is not Mercy Memorial hospital. Did you live in either city?

  • Benton Harbor's Glory days were in the 1950s. It can come back ,but only with a local gov. that isn't corrupt. Like most areas in the US, education is going to be of the utmost importance. It will need to come from the families, students and communties. Attitude is everything!

  • If you would like a copy of the any of my songs please email your request, including the name of the song to: “redm96@yahoo.com”, and I will email the requested song to you.

    Thanks,

  • Nice video. I too was born there. I left a long time ago. The only building in the video that I recognized was Mercy hospital, where I was born.

  • classic!

  • I love this video! As most have stated, I too have great memories and gain strength from what I have learned growing up there!

  • There is better parts of the town than that, this isn't a very accurate showing of the city!

  • nice video, i lived there and miss it , just something about bh that will always be close

  • Im from Benton Harbor too, born and raised and I wouldnt trade growing up there for ANYTHING. After being from there nothing suprises me, I can see straight therough ppl's BS, am an expert winter driver, and am from the most famous lil town nobody's heard of (but then again a lot of ppl have).

I live in Seattle now and ppl recognize my BH gear, some are even from the region. It's a trip.

Love my hometown. Could never live there again but damn I love it.

  • Every place has good and bad

  • @cleven269 But, some places have more bad than good. Almost every city in Michigan has more bad than good.

  • Are u trying 2 make Benton Harbor look bad...

  • No. Im just telling the history of my hometown, as I remember it, and as it is now. Sometimes the truth hurts, sorry.
