Here's the thing that many people don't understand. IT'S A PREQUEL! Due to this fact, much of the plot from he other two movies will not be delved into in this one. Also, Kate Beckinsale, does not belong in this movie. Not only is Selene not in this movie (technically), but she shouldn't be either due mainly in part to her confusing moviegoers of who she is. This is about Lucian and Sonja's love, nothing more. What happens becasue of this is the result.

This movie was disappointing for the reason that it did not bring anything new, or exciting. Everything that was said was preetty much know, everything was known be fore it happened.

But reviewing it as a brand new movie without watching the first two movies that came out it was awesome......To bad they didn't release this one first. I actually would have preferred seeing a deeper storyline of Marcus, his borther and their father when everything started I think that would be much better.

I would give it an 8.5. It was much better than anticipated, but I wish it had included the subplot with Kraven and Lucian that was introduced in the first film. It would have introduced a plot point that was not focused on in the other two films and it would have brought it full circle with the first film.
