  • i love paul but.... shit version

  • I guess everyone experiments... :P

  • Normally Judd Lander would play harmonica on post-1980 performances of "Love Me Do," correct?

  • oooh.. esta versión es horrible.. this version is awful (and i love paul)

  • Que tonto Paul por querer hacerse dueño del exito de los Beatles. Es un cojo que su pata buena es de palo.

  • As long as I keep it in my mind that this is Paul McCartney, and I can play the real songs in my head... I can sit through this.

  • Just Genius or what ?

  • paul without an instrument!! that's really weird but cute =3

  • Paul at least could have dusted off John Lennon's old harmonica.

  • *closes browser and turns off the computer in dissapointment*

  • hey all you american dumbasses gimme your cash ill belt 1 out from 50 years ago

  • Come on this is awesome man !

  • WTF WAS PAUL THINKING????!!!!!!!! WHY PAUL WHY?

  • Im a HUGE beatles fan and mccartney ,but WTF is this!!!!??

  • I'm afraid Paul without his instrument on stage...will be more 'uncontrolled', attractive, and need bigger size stage than Mick Jagger :-)

  • This sucks big ones.

  • i´m a beatles fan since 20 years ago. this is one of the worst things i ever heard

  • @petosupersonico2 I too have been a beatle fan for many, many, many years. You should listen to John Lennon's "two virgins", "life with the lions" and "wedding album" then play this - then and only then can you appreciate the genius idea on offer here!

  • oh Paulie!! What were you thinking?? Well, he probably wasn't thinking at all...love him still!! :D

  • Damn, Paul was a great frontman even without playing bass

  • Oh dear Lord... Song, not so bad. His dancing, now that's a whole other story! It's a little too 80s for my style, but what he did with the songs I don't mind at all...

  • @MrsBeatleLover05 Maybe because it WAS the 80's! LOL! Paul is always a bit out of his element without the old Hofner strapped on.

  • I love this version!!

  • Ok, this was......... INTERESTING......

  • why was i born in the 90s i should of been born in 1950 so i could c the beatles get the records 4 a gd price see wings and see him in the 90s

  • the 90's made me cry... being born in them dusnt help... comon paul dnt do tht haha

  • ohhh th ninties were bad......

and i was born in the ninties

  • hahah i love Paul but this is just interesting.....

  • damn, didnt know michael jackson influenced him to do a rewrite. lol

  • if i'm not mistaken this version was recorded in 1990 in brazil, rio de janeiro...maracana stadium, for 180.000 people, so sorry, brazil is the best in crowd for shows, everbody says it....hahahaha

and it's sad to see in the comments that people didn't liked this version, i thought it amazing, i remembering seeing this video as child in a Laser Disc called "Lennon: A Tribute".....this LD is amazingly good!!

  • Come on, it's a funny version, it's the 90's, and besides not being the most brilliant moment of Macca, it's played alive, it's not playback.

Besides that, it's a really rare performance, specifically the only song I've ever seen Macca without an instrument. Definitely, he'll always be the best with an instrument.

  • huge macca fan... but... sometimes he goes too far...

  • let me pull out the 60 year old favorites sad

  • McCartney is such a hambone .... Vegas version of Love me do .... Ugh.

He does have flashes of brilliance in between the more cornball songs he writes.

  • Come on people... It was the 90s....

  • Damn that John Lennon isn't alive

  • ringo version sounds better

  • 2 brilliant classic songs ruined by the creater its self and 1 thing what were u thinking ??????????

  • That is a cool version! but the original is better! but i like this one still!

where did you get this video? or how can i get it?

  • I'll never forget seeing this live- man he was adorable!

  • Interesting version- but of course I love the Beatles version the best- nothing compares to the Beatles singing their own songs all together. Paul is still good- and some people like this I'm sure but it's not one of my favorite things he's done

  • i agree this isnt very good .. but regardless i still love ps i love you and love me do and paul mccartney i just wish paul would sing ps i love you live the way its supposed to sound : )

  • as much as i love paul mccartney i do not like this because its a bit techno and i dont like it

  • @JamesTKirkCobain

Then why are you watching a Paul McCartney video? Leaving a comment means you love it even more, grow up. But for the sake of the arguement, all I can say is Band on the Run, Venus and Mars, Tug of War, Flaming Pie, Chaos and Creation... Suck on them... #1 and all crictically acclamied...

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Take a deep[ breath....we all have our "moments"...it's hard sometimes...they do pass. I once met a drunken old lady { only about 50 really ~ but the alcohol had taken it's tole...} anyway...she was lounging around her pool out back of her house near a country club in Boston { she was a hedge fund manager} anyway...she claimed she offered John Lennon a way to make over $100 million and "he was such an asshole" he wasn't interested... So...we all must consider the source ey?

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Some people don't know crap about the Beatles.Read a book dude! The other 3 Beatles(Paul,George,Ringo)thought it was bullsh.. letting Yoko tag around everywhere they went.-even rehearsals! The other Beatles had wives but they didn't tag around like Yoko.Yoko wanted Lennon to join her group and we all know what she sounded like!Lennon had a HUGE ego and Yoko catered to it.Talking about crap albums, look at Lennon's" Two Virgins","The Wedding Album".

  • @JamesTKirkCobain

I would like to tell you that Paul McCartney is the greatest musician and of course he's better than John !!!!!!!!!

  • bad version

  • Why, Paul!? Why!?

  • i love paul. but wtf is this dude.

  • admittadly his antics on here are stupid lol

all that jumping around is silly

    i still think hes fantastic!!

  • why is paul trying to be like freddy mercury?

  • Paul does this sometimes. Have you heard his version of "Coming Up" from the same era? It's because in his head, he is still 22. See his recent David Letterman interview: Letterman: "How would you describe yourself?" Paul: "I'm a boy, I like girls..."

Strangely, this has always worked for me. I think I'll get the vinyl out tomorrow...

(Check Sing the Changes, that is pure McCartney class, totally at the other end of his spectrum)

  • this was a good tour i caught it @ soldier field

  • This is ghastly. But Paul is the greatest, and he can muck about and create feces on occasion if he wants to.

  • abortion

  • i have the studio version of this song. if you want to hear this song go to my page and you will hear a clearer version

  • do you have a download for this?

  • @elvis45rpm

Well my computer crashed but when I get it fixed I'll be happy to send it to you. Send me a message and I will send you back a download link.

  • no me gusta esta version de ps I love you

  • Paul knew he had Hamish supporting him on backing vocals! Average White Band Let's go round again! great track!

  • Love, love, love this!

  • dear god why did paul try to improve this song i know artists r suppose to experiment but how could he not hear the it

  • LOL listen to all the 9 year olds/babies comments saying sing the original-this is so 80's.Listen to this version more than once and you will love it or feck off back to 1999 when you weren't even born FFS!!

  • sorry paul. prefer the original version of these. its just not ur style. ur supposed play your instrument and sing with your heart. seeing you sing wiithout an instrument in ur hand it feels weird. still a genious to combine these 2 though

  • As a devoted Paul McCartney/Beatles fan I found this quite strange to watch/listen to. I have to say I much prefer the original style of these songs, but as someone else said he's entitled to sing his own songs in whatever style he likes!

  • That "douche" you have referred to is Hamish Stuart A member of Average White Band from 1972 to 1982, he went on to work with Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan and David Sanborn.

He wrote songs for Smokey Robinson, George Benson and Diana Ross.

Stuart joined Paul McCartneys band (where he switched between guitar and bass as necessary with McCartney) for McCartney's 1989 comeback album, Flowers in the Dirt, and appearing on several other albums and McCartney's world tours of 1989 and 1993.

    Douche??

  • kinda trash

  • The guy who is playing bass is an idiot. Why Paul worked with such a douche is beyond me.I also didnt care for the new rendition of both songs, kinda ruined both in my opinion.

  • I don't like it, but I understand it.... I have worked with bands that spent a lot of time on the road & even I got sick of the same arrangements... I could always walk away - they couldn't.. musicians do this often - either that, or we, as the audience get a half-ass, lifeless rendition of a song that they would rather not even rehearse, much less perform...

  • I saw Paul on this tour. I have no recollection of this at the show I attended in Seattle. If he did it, I was able to blot it from my memory. I don't like it!

  • I'm a big Beatles fan and since the man wrote the songs, he's certainly got the right to sing them this way if he chooses. I personally would rather he sing them in the way they were recorded or not sing them at all. I can't even imagine what John would have thought of this arrangement.

  • Nice jacket!! Makes you look slimmer than you are.

  • Paul has lived and sung in every awsome decade, the early 60s, late 60's, the70's, the 80's,

90's, and the new millenium, and he is still great!!!

  • Well then... that's... well.. that's odd...

  • Good rendition of the songs. Sir Paul, you never wer someone to run around on stage.

  • An abomination!

  • molto originale!

  • PS I Love You was rubbish the first time, but this is somehow worse!!

  • ficou bom,mas o ooriginal era melhor...

it wqas good but the original was better

  • I like the original. This is so 80s. It's all 80'd up. sucks.

  • Booyah, my friend.

  • I completely agree

  • no paulie stay true to the music

  • aww..LOL

he tried, as long as it sounds good to him i guess thats all that matters. he's clearly having fun up there singing it, so eh. i dont think its all that bad..lol

  • jaj es cierto es extraño que no este

    con un instrumento

  • Um Paul.......... What the HELL was that?! ;)

  • Paul, we love you regardless.

  • what..was..that?!?

  • Hilarious.

  • Awful version of 2 great songs, done in by my least favorite back up band Paul worked with.

  • omg paul. just... omg. i still love you but...

    OMG. lol

  • Oh my god...just, just no! Paul, i love you to death...but, no!!! Just, no!

  • Ummm he doesn't look right without a guitar or piano

    Still love him though XD

  • C'est trop nul !!!!!

Wooooouh !! Vous êtes des merdes finies !! =O

Comment vous pouvez salir ainsi une si belle chanson des " The Beatles " =O=O=O=O=O=O=O=O

  • u_u that is bad!!! im sorry but is the true!! the real version its much better!!!...=S

  • damn, destroying his own stuff, paul, whats that

  • Is he singing this to his guitar player? Beavis I love you?

  • Painful and embarrassing, like having to watch a teacher get up and sing something in assembly.

This even got an official release on some B-side.

    Some B-side.

  • This wasn't Wings, this was solo Paul...

  • @PaulMcCartneyFan this was off the first beatles album

  • Oh, HELL no.......this is soooo wrong.

  • I love McCartney!!!

But i dont know what he was thinking here...

  • @LZTSK12 Yeah, No Kidding!

  • Even paul shouldn't screw with the original. This really was terrible and I doubt he ever did anything this bad ever again. BEATLES 4EVER-nick

  • omfg....that's disgusting, the original versions are mouch better than this one

  • what a gay version!

  • me gusta, me gusta....

  • Muy loco!

  • the 80's were a time of insanity

and as you can see in the descriptiopn, this was in 1990

the world was just recovering from the 80's and appearantly, the 80's virus that got into Paul hasn't run it's course yet

  • Ha, well put. This version of P.S. I Love You is soooooo 80's. It kinda sounds like something Sting would have done at that time.

  • I think this is good. He only created a new song just with the lyrics of another ones. I think he was just having fun. We love you Paul!

  • muy buen video y como siempre muy bien Paul como siempre, te felicito esta muy bien

  • I love Paul. But he could certainly have done better than this...

  • In comparison to the Beatles of course this is like embarrassing to watch. But he is Paul McCartney, he can do whatever the fuck he wants. He's also admitted that this and other things like this were not his best work. Go and become a pop music icon and then criticize.

  • THIS IS SO BAD!!!!!! AAAHHHHHH!!!

  • Good version, why even bother comparing it to the originals? This is a concert peformace for goodness sake, not an attempt to replace the hits.

  • 80's bad time for allot of Icons good thing allot of the lot pulled out of it!

  • oh c'mon is no that bad! don't be so hard..

  • This is the first time I ever saw a music artist butcher their own song so badly.

  • O_o

    80's pop?!

  • Sorry Paul ...but horrible ...

  • Hahahaha! This is hilarious!

"This song's from a long time ago, but it's like a new version of it. It goes something like this... AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

  • it's okejj bud the real version is better at least i think!!! bud Paul stays the best

  • what show this come from?

  • kinda cool!! but also strange...of course original = better, but this is FUN

  • I think this version is kind of a joke from Paul (seeing is face at 0:38).

anyway I HOPE it is a joke, because it ruin 2 songs I love and pretty badly

  • it's not a joke. This was the 80's!

  • according to some, the 80's *was* a joke...i don't this to be that bad...of course he's been much better, but then again paul at his worst (did i just say that?) is still alot better than most people at their best

  • WTF?

  • baaaaaad

  • I think it's the first time I've ever seen him singing without playing an instrument!

  • eey

    thats version is so ugly

but no, best no say nothing

  • was the white-haired dude also harmonizing buck owens

  • that's just really embarrassing

  • Wow, that's dog shit, what was paul smoking?

  • People sometimes dont understand this man or what he is doing or why he is doing it....pity! I like this version....hmmp!

  • Horrible, Asquerosa

Una de las peores caidas de Paul

  • I dig this version.

It's its own song and not to be compared to the originals

  • LOVE ME DO and P.S. I LOVE are the ONLY TWO Beatles songs McCartney owns outright. So that's likely why he decided to exploit the two songs with this hybrid version. Getting revenge on Michael Jackson (who famously bought most the other Beatles songs in 1985) or something.

  • People will hate me here, but I DO LIKE this version!!!

  • You're not the only one who hates this version. Very dissapointing.

  • wtf?

  • painful

  • Jesus. How does he go from Strawberry Fields quality stuff to this?

  • Paul didn't write Strawberry Fields, John did!

  • This totally sucked! I'd rather listen to the sounds of someone farting than this.

  • This totally sucked! I'd rather listen to the sounds of someone farting than this.

============================= LOL, Kandy! I totally agree with your opinion here.

  • I recently downloaded this song. I love it when Paul does a different take an one of his own classics.

    Great vid!

  • you're a fool

  • yeah, he's been dead for 28 years.

  • he is just singing, jumping, dancing:)free as a bird:)

PS: i love you Paul.. :)

  • this was so great, and funny!! how can you not love paul?

  • very strange Paul is not playing an instrument !!!

  • Terrific song... a friend told me to listen to this.. Paul is so great! Peace, ~Sharon

  • i actually like it but the first 'as I write this letter' sucked...the rest was okay

  • nice version i think .i love this ps i love you part really good oldies song..and gorgeous Paul!!

  • yay!!! i love it i love Paul!!! I'm dancin with ya man!! wooooh nice version!

  • WHAT WAS HE THINKING THIS SUCKS ME DO

  • His version of Bill Murray as the Lounge Singer on SNL

  • Ew... this hurts to listen to...

  • He Has Ruined That Beautiful Song

  • Why did he change it? and become mad 80s? haha

  • the paul in rio version is better

  • he was smart for the reason that he wanted to appeal to himself and the popular music of the time. This weirdish, funky synth pop was popular as hell and it sold. He is one of the guys who changes with the time. I never liked him too much...Ringo is my favorite :)

  • (absolutely, breathtakingly nauseating)

  • Oh........my...........GAWD

  • he's killing his own songs!!

  • Sounds awful.

  • This is the only Paul Beatles song that sounds so radically different from the original Beatle version.

  • @bwing55543

Oh yeah? Then you should hear the 1969 version they did when he and the rest of the Beatles were doing the "Let It Be" album.

  • He's so great! Songs sound good funky!
