  • YOU WORK IN A HOSPITAL?!?!?!?

    AHHHHHH!!!!

I BET ALL THE PATIENTS DIE xD

  • I'm getting my ferret from a good friend

  • at petland when i got my ferret they said that they cant digest pine :/

  • I see a lot of people pointing out bad things in these videos, so it'd be nice if somebody made videos about ferret care that were correct. please.

  • why the fuck am i watching ferret videos?

  • @perix3000 CAUSE FERRETS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!

  • CAN I ASK U SOMETHING EXPERTS?MY FERRET BITES VERY MUCH.WHAT CAN I DO TO PREVENT IT?

  • @MrHamsterman98 I suggest you do not wait for an answer here, theres thousands of questions here. yet none of them are answered.

  • @MrHamsterman98 hmm. maybe its just one who likes to be alone haha. people talk about them like there the same.. "ohh they love this they love that... not all! :) not all the same. :).. you get them from time to time.. probaly dosnt like to be picked up. hehe. but it will learn.. maybe spray your hands with deodrent to mask the human smell. they have alot of personality tho.. but some are just naughty :) much like us really

  • Wow im kinda surprised she knew that dust can be irritating to the sinuses, as the channel the vid is posted on is failvillage

  • You look like a ferret.

  • i went to pet world and the lady had no clue what gender it was, how old it was, or wether it was decented!!

  • Well i really want one and im pretty sure im gonna get one soon, so ive been doing reasearch. but i talked to a peron at petco a while ago and she said there already litter trained but u have to leave a little poop in there when you clean the litter box so they know it's their litter box. anyone know if this works or not. also i only saw poop in the litter box so this might be true but im not sure.

  • Hello, we bought another ferret for company for our one year old ferret, but it seems like our ferret is not acting the same. Almost seems like he's depress, could this be the case. He's not vomiting or being sick in anyway, just really calm and not as jumpy as he was before we brought home the new ferret. What could be wrong, please help; this is so strange for our little Freddy to act this way? Thanks

  • @Angelmods spend some time with it take it to a vet and do a check up

  • @lhomme38

We took it to the vet and he's doing a lot better. They said that he could of been depress because of the new addition to the famly; Little Sasha! She's full of energy and he's still getting used to her but he's doing so much better. We were super worried about him having something physically wrong, but he was checked out and doing a lot better. Thanks for your reply.

  • Come and talk to my ferret, He just loves his poop, and does NOT like it when we take it xD He is a sweetheart but not when it comes to his poop give me some other way to handle this problem...cause that one does not work, either he is to glad for his poop, or he is just a pit dumb haha

  • this is not true i have 2 ferrets and they use the litter box they were born

  • Ceder AND pine are bad btw, please don't buy this crap. She's probably just trying to sell some shit from the store. Listen to TheMrBlinx or some other people commenting on this video because they seem to know a lot more from experience.

    Thanks. :)

  • @KursedMoo its really a shame they are misinforming people like this about pine. some people research about pets before getting them, and may think its ok to use pine now because of this stupid vid.

  • PINE?! Okay, well they obviously know nothing. Pine is VERY bad for ferrets. -.-

  • @KursedMoo Why?

  • @emekonen Cedar and Pine both emit what are called aromatic hydrocarbons. They are airborn compounds that can and will cause respiratory irritation and can compromise liver function. While cedar is much worse than pine, both do carry some degree of danger. Recycled newspaper-based litter is much better. I hope this helps. :)

  • @KursedMoo i was about to post i heard pine and cedar bedding and litter were bad, and asking if the vid was wrong. thank you you should really a higher rated comment. i always use the non scented yesterdays news for my furries.

  • @werewolfbitevictim I agree, it really is a shame. I just hope that people read the comments from the people that are experienced and know what they're talking about. I bet the lady in this video doesn't even own a ferret.

  • Will this work with a mongoose?

  • WRONG as usual. That litter pan she showed will NOT work because the front lip is way too high. Ferrets will not use that - they will go right outside it. The front lip needs to be no more than 1 1/2" high so they can back in. Pine litter contains "aromatic olephins" (as does cedar chips) that are harmful to ferret skin and respiratory systems. This whole "Expert Village" series is filled with erroneus and downright harmful information. Don't believe ANY of it.

  • @TheMrBlinx so what should be used as litter if not pine or w.e els she said?

  • @SerenityX27 Many people use newspaper. I used to shred it, but found that they would accept it whole. The ink is safe because it's made from vegetable oil. There are also newspaper based litters available, as well as other products. BTW, neither "Expert Village" nor her animal hospital dared to answer my e-mails, so they should both be avoided.

  • Hey can anyone think i should no get a ferret because i have school but iam very responsible my school hours are 7 30am to 230 pm please tell me if i should get if so how many school i get P.S iam 14

  • @looop51 same here but my school starts later but if you can hold up in school and doing chores around your house(what i do) then i look at it a new companion along with my cat.

  • @looop51 Are you prepared to dedicate at least the next seven years of your life to caring for your ferret? Are you prepared to shell out at least $500 for a tumor operation? (or $125 and a broken heart if they don't make it?). They are care intensive critters, and I have yet to see any 14 year old who's fit to handle it. Heck, most college students aren't fit, and two of my current three came from irresponsible college kids.

  • @TheMrBlinx so your saying i should not get a ferret

  • @looop51 I don't know. Am I? At that age, life comes at you quickly and things change fast.

  • hi what

  • All animals are just $s to these companies, it's a shame but it's true, they only way to get better care for animals in the long run, is to give an animal that desperately needs a home one, - ie from a rescue centre, where the people are usually volunteer and actually care about the animals, will give you all the information you need - accurately.

  • are ferrets good pets? its my 13th b day in december should i get one ?

  • @ash52277 you have to have a lot of time.. and they are a little hard to litter train..im very glad i have no carpets lol ..and you have to ferret proof your whole house ..or room...cause your parents probably wont want it running around the house...other than that they are great and so cute!:P

  • @ash52277 I have two ferrets. I got my first one for my 14th birthday. they're really fun animals that are full of personality. I think they're great pets. The only thing is, if you want to get one you have to have free time. they need to play alot in the day. and my ferrets love to go for walks aswell, even though it takes them awhile to get anywhere lol I think overall, if you can keep up with these little furry guys, you should go for it. But I recomend just starting with one for awhile. ;)

  • are ferrets good pets? its my 13th b day in december should i get one ?

  • 1:19 i was on full volume then i fell out of my chair

  • acually don't use pine litter the oils hurt their little furry skin, you want to use corn cob litter

  • okay they said PETLAND never ever buy from pet land! if you want a ferret go to a breeder shelter or pet super market! NEVER FROM PETCO OR PETLAND! their just disgusting! =( the last time I was their they had poop piled up so high and they stunk and the customer service was terrible! i'm 13 and I know more than these idiots! seriously! =(

  • @CutenessOverlode i voted down coz thats sad :(

  • @victorias9459 on my comment or the video? Because when I was saying I was smarter I was kind of exaggerating a bit but still never go to petland i do recommend the pet super market in Stuart Florida tho my family know them and we trust them but most pet shops we don't trust =(

  • Another useful tip for box training is to put the food bowl and the water bottle in 2 of the corners of the cage. They tend to not go where their food and water is. I also put an old t-shirt they liked to sleep in in the third corner, so they pretty much hadto use the litter box all the time, Broke them real fast.

  • Expert Village, WikiHow and eHow are all useless garbage shit

  • if u give them a treat every time they do that , theyll expect u to give them it every time

  • no affence but you said not to use class tanks, But your ferrets are in the tanks!!!!

  • Ferrets love to steal your car keys, but more often times, they will steal your heart.

Do your research before you get a fuzzy, and don't depend on 'expert' village.

  • Tis is the cutest animal ive ever seen how long do they live?

  • @AImosTskater44 6-9 years.. think really carefully before you decide to buy one..

  • @AImosTskater44

They usually live about 8-10years if your lucky. My brotherinlaw had one that lived to 15yrs, but that is exceptionally rare.. 8yrs is the norm.

  • pine is a NO-NO!!! it will cause serious respiratory issues later in their life.

  • Do they bite

  • @venusvsmars209 no not really. if they do than its just a nibble. nothing to worry about.

  • @venusvsmars209

Ferrets can be nippy at first, but can almost always, with proper training and handling, be trained out of it. They nip because thats how ferrets play with other ferrets and dont realize that our skin is far thinner then another ferrets. Usually a good scruff on the neck with a sharp hiss any time they nip too hard will do the trick (thats how adult ferrets discipline their young)

  • Very good info thanks, and she is right, if you have a ferret you should already know this.

  • @bernar97 Any kind of recycled newspaper or pine litter pellets will be fine. I have heard wood pellets are great as well.

  • ferrets are beast

  • dos any one know where i can get free ferret from in Tacoma WA

  • are ferrets good pets? do they like attention and are they playful with humans? I live in a relatively small apartment and considering getting one. I;m a college student with not alot of income, so should I wait until I can easily afford one?

  • @mase5701 I am an experienced ferret owner, message me with any questions :)

  • 1: how do i stop them from stinking

2: what sort of food is best?

3: should i leave the radio on when im not home to make them feel like someone is home?

  • to make the feret stop stinking is to bathe them on a regular bases. yes leave the radio on,its just like a cat or a dog. as 4 food, idk

  • @thecosmiced are you fucking insane? Could you probably get yourself some information, before talking shit?

  • could you suck a dick? thats what other vidz said and stuff on the interwebz!!!!srrsly, mr.chaud master im 13,so stfu!!!1!!

i dontz hev the life expince u do !!!!!

  • @thecosmiced Hey, all my comments got misteriously rated down, in the exact same moment, as you answered me. We`ll never get to know, how this happened...

It´s not recommended to bath your ferret often.

By the way, most of them wil stink even more being bathed. It´s not the fur stinking, but the anal gland. Itstarts absorbing the smell when your ferret is stressed or excited.

  • Over-bathing is one of the top causes of the musky ferret smell.

  • @Mikeybetts There is special ferret food, but it´s quite expensive. You could use dry cat food (because of the small pieces it´s easy to chew for them), additionally it´s recommended to give them ferret food in tins additionally from time to time. It has much more taurine than dog or cat food.

It´ll give your fluffies a boost like Nitro:-)

  • @der1mit2den3haaren

    do u have a ferret?

    [=

  • 1: Keep them on a balanced diet, and do NOT bathe them unless they get into something nasty.

2: Honestly, I've heard just as many people ranting about cat food as people ranting about higher priced ferret blends.

3: Ferrets sleep a LOT. Maybe your ferret will like the noise, maybe not.

I am NOT a professional by any means, just a former ferret owner.

  • @FarFromAverageJoe

    since i live in California

im thinking of bringing it the illegal way

what else might i need to know about?

When they bite how do i train them not to bite hard enough to hurt someone only just playing around??

  • @crazyy606 If you think baby-proofing a house is hard, try your hand at ferret-proofing. If their head can fit, so can the rest of their body and they WILL get into ANYTHING. Be very thorough when you're going through your home to make certain it's safe.

Biting is the same as most other animals. Scruff them and say no IMMEDIATELY when the bite (or any other bad behavior) happens.

  • well how much do they cost? Original purchase, cage, food, shots, etc. If I buy one today how much should I look the total expenses to be in one year?

  • @mase5701 you just shouldn´t consider to buy a solitary ferret

  • a cat box is to big they make ferret boxes now and they are grate i have two boxes a big box for the cage and a little one in the room becuse my ferret loves to poop in this one corner when he is out. and sometimes he gose in the cat box but only to pee when he is playing with the cats because my ferret thinks he is a cat lol. but i found puppy pads in the corners in the house were they like to go is easy clean up just cut it into 4s and place them down with a little going up the wall

  • because there aim is not so good .i even tape them down because my ferret thinks they are things he can play with when i put them down and it makes my carpet happy too. not to menchen my land lord ferrets dont go in the box 100% of the time but the pads in the rooms he or she play in and a lttle time from you paying atention were they like to go you can get 99.9 % out of your ferret

  • IF anyone wants some info on ferrets you can message me! I am a ferret owner with firsthand experience with these animals :)

  • do ferrets eat much food???

  • so a ferret is closer to a weasel than a rat ??

  • @bradsterfordawin weasel

  • cool, thanks for the information!!!!!

  • thanx

  • ferrets are cool

  • @erik335 lmao!!!

  • Ferret: A mammal rather like a weasel, but which was originally bred from the polecat and often trained to hunt rats or rabbits in England

  • a relative of the skunk

  • @AnimeVampireAngel One guy on our ferret forum is in England. He hunts rabbits professionally with a dog, ferrets and a hawk. He surrounds a rabbit warren with nets then puts down one or two ferrets. In about ten minutes, rabbits start bolting out holes and are caught by the nets. Those that make it under the nets are dispatched by a hawk or a dog. Farmers pay him to work their fields because there is an epidemic of rabbits.

  • @AnimeVampireAngel

Not trained to hunt rabbits... they naturally will hunt rabbits! An un-muzzled ferret will catch the rabbit, eat it, and go to sleep. They don't need training. But a muzzled ferret is used to prevent the ferret from catching the rabbit.

  • we hunt with them :) but pets also. much like the dog. infact. it has achualy been know , and i know for fact. there verry smat and can work with other ferrets and even dogs to catch. and my friend lost one down a hole. and it came back to his house over a mile away, knows were home is. verry loyal and intellegent hehe, verry cool animal and useful

  • actually..ferrets are from the Girraffe family!

  • FAIL

  • You're all stupid... their birds.

  • Lmao

  • WIN

  • FAIL

  • YOU FAIL!

  • lmfao

    i second that

  • Your pretty stupid, Ferrets are weasels, NOT cats.

  • How about a demonstration Sarah?

    I'd buy tha t for a dollar!

  • lol

  • Curious...I know there illegal in California, but my mother lives in Arizona and there is a pet shop which sells them, what are the chances of them knowing I have it in my home in CA after I bring it back? I mean really? They got some tracking devices on ferrets through satellite? I really want one, but I don't want to be fined or get jail time, lol.

  • You gotta be really careful if you're bringing a ferret into a ferret free zone Like Cali. There are helicopters flying over your neighborhood every day scanning for ferret pheromones and other evidence.

  • ur all wrong ferrets are fish

  • i have a pet ferret and 2 rats they are very similr in behavior they get along to

ferret is scared of the rat or rats :P

  • Do u Have to Use newspaper as a bedding even after their trained

  • not really but you can if you want. i like to keep litter in my fuzzys cage at all times, she uses her litter box to do her business but i like keeping litter in her cage so she can either dig at it or pile it up to sleep.

  • gross talking about litter but very helpful you with me

  • Ferrets are banned here

  • California?

  • i read a book and they are also come from the cat family they listed a couple and the jaguar was listed. lol

  • Comment removed

  • myferets..... i guess thats why they're called 'polecats'.... as they related to the cat family. its like havin a kitten for life!

  • No they aren't... they are mustelids, an entirely separate family of carnivores.

  • not only cats they get a wee bit from dogs

  • The book was wrong. Ferrets are from the mustelid family. They're weasels...not even close to cats.

  • Mine actually goes to the toilet an flushes the chain! just need to perfect him washin his paws afterwards...an puttin down the seat! Great vid!

  • thats tight! can you maybe post a video on how to make them do that then send me a message about it

  • ummm, cat litter box, no!!! way to low sided! a ferret corner box is the best!!! but the rest is great info!

  • ummm, cat litter box, yes!!! Mine won't use the corner and only use the litter box, they never use anywhere else smartass.

  • lol, good for you about the cat litter box thingy!

    and how did u kno i was a smart-ass?

no one else have EVER figured it out.......

    (=^.^=)

  • is it normal and ok for a ferret to eat its own droppings?

  • she's right in most of it! my ferret likes to play around in his litter box with the new litter when I just clean it, he digs in it... all ferrets are different!!

  • expert village is garbage, no one knows what theyre doing

  • i feel bad for anyone who has ever taken the advice from this woman. i have now watched several of her videos, and she has clearly never owned a ferret.

  • jesus what was that at 1:19-1:20

  • might ahave been a bird :O

  • but my ferret r not dumb they dont play in there shit so i use cat letter

  • cat litte ris very dangerous for your ferret.

  • i have a ferret room and i put the litter box in the corner they go in, but then she started going on the left edge of the room. She doesnt even go in the litter box anymore. What should i do?

  • If you hated this video and agree with me comment me on my channel!

  • Also if you wanna teach us show us a video step by step training a ferret to do it and PROVE it

  • Dont Find it Useful.

I've been with ferrets for half my life and we use way didnt ways to take care of ferrets. Atm we have about 3 ferrets (Expecting 7 soon) And all we had to do is scoop their poop into the litter. When they see the poop in there they will start pooping in their regularly and there ya go. It might take a few monoths for your ferret(s) to learn that they should poop in there so dont rush them. Take it slow.

  • um... why would i be recommended this video?

  • cause deep inside youtube knows you like ferrets

  • LOVE ferrets

  • will this work for rats? I can't find a video about them.

  • nunyadammebiznis there are expert villages on rats. they don't go in a litter box.they teach you to bathe them and what not.

  • Rats can be trained to do almost anything, But it may take alot more time than ferrets to train them to do such things. I have had rabbits who were litter trained, so I can't imagian why rats can't be also. =3

  • OMG I HAVE A RABBIT AND SHE IS MAKING MY RABBIT PAY OVER A 100 DOLLARS FOR EVERY LITTLE THINGS SHE DOES! WE EVEN BOT A 40 DOLLAR RABBIT TRAINING TECKNIQES BOOK AND ALL SHE LEARNED WAS THE WORD "No" PLZ HELP ME TO TRAIN MY RABBIT!!!!!!!!plz! - Magic4Getii

  • FERRETS ARE NOT RATS. they are actually part of the possum family.

  • exaktly.. look at the possum brothers in ice age ;)

  • They're part of the weasel and otter family..

  • They're no closer to possums than they are to rats. They're mustelids.

  • possums aren't rats either, they are marsupials.

  • Hey just wanted to say thanks for this video...I have had a lot of trouble getting my new ferret to use the litter box. She's doing a little better but still using other parts of the cage to use the restroom. This should help her out a lot with her training. Thank you!

  • OMG thank u soo much!

  • I taught my ferret to not poop on the wire cage (omg I had to scrape it out) and to only poo in one corner but if I but a box there he will lay next to it and look at me..

  • that is hilarious! i totally know *the look*!!!

  • same here

  • Go die k thnx

  • i dont use litter in mine because my ferret thinks its a new dig box.

  • my ferret is pretty much free range, and he seems to know what not to get into. then again, he does looooove to test my limits! he's incredibly smart and steals everything he can.

  • My parents are cats ha ha just kidding who would believe that than again maybe I would.

  • well duh!

  • Out of my experience whenever you get multiples of ferrets it's a bit harder to train them, but not impossible. Give them treats when they use the litter box. Make sure if you let them roam free that they have plenty of places to poop(paper/extra boxes) because they're not like us and will not hold it in if they don't have to.

  • unless they are too well trained. I had a ferret named joey, and like he would cry and search every corner of the house for a litter box, and get frusturated if he couldnt find one xD

But... in the end ... he might just use a corner and look sad...

  • i've been in pet land...cool people and awesome animals

  • U can get a leash or harness for ur ferret and teach it to avoid certain rooms or like teach it to avoid cables and if s/he continues just tape all the cables down with duct tape simple

  • my ferret used the box when she can but my brothers deosnt. grr.

  • i want to get a ferret but my mom dosent think i should she it is cute but i know i have great responsibility to own a ferret because i have a dog

I f i have a dog, would a ferret be comfortable with that dog?

  • do ferrets hav to be kept in a cage cant u just buy a bed for them and they will sleep there and the rest of the time he will just play around and stuff like play around the house

  • You could but it's not recommended. Owning a ferret is like having a three year old that never grows up. The can and WILL get into everything and when they are out they will need constant attention.

  • and what ferret ACTUALLY does this???

i have three retards that know i want them to go in their shit box and they refuse blatantly by flickin me off and crappin by the bedroom door so i step in it before i go get them water cause they drink it all and piss on their sheets in the top part of their cage. seriously shitbox training a ferret is like letting an infant crawl around without a diaper on.

  • I didn't train mine. I found she went to the same spot all the time anyway. Mabye 2 or 3 diff spots in a big room. I just put a box there, but she didn't like climbing into it and would do her business right next to it. I started putting paper down and she would go on that.

  • each time ive tried to get mine to use a litter box he just slings the pellets all over the place for me to clean up and then sh*ts on the floor.

  • lol
