The gear retracts fine, and has retracted in subsequent flights. It is normal , and in this case, requirement, to leave gear down during a first flight. Leaving the gear down is not unsafe...

I guess the landing gears are still in development since they don't appear to retract during flight...

@rasredge They probably work, its just a habit that on the first flight they fly with gear down, some longer range aircraft like the A380 did pull the gear up during the maiden flight but they seem so avoid it as much as possible.
