That's not a "game glitch" as you are calling it - that's hardware failure. Artifacing = GPU failure. I wish people would quit slamming Codemasters for glitches when it's a problem with their hardware instead!

F1 2011 is also an absolute disappointment for me, on Windows. Constant framerate problems, which were fixable in 2010 for me, but can't be fixed in 2011.

I don't want to say Codemasters makes shit games, but it comes close to that.

It could be your HDD....I replaced a WD Blue{slow} with Samsung spinpoint{fast} and my replay problems and savegame corrupts disappeared.

The frame-rates drop from 45-55(medium-high settings) to a constant 20-25, after approximately 2 to 4 laps, sometimes after 7 laps, into time trial mode. When actually racing, offline or online, in a race-situation, the frame-rates drop already in lap 1, below to 20-25 again.

I'm using a laptop, so buying a faster HDD isn't what I'm going to do, since faster laptop HDDs aren't particularly cheap. Just for the sake of a game, I'm not going to spend money on better hardware parts.

First off, you don't know my laptop's specifications. Second, if laptops are SLOW, then gaming laptops must be too. Third, a mediocre written program, slowing down the hardware's performance, is WRONG by itself.

I'm an F1 fan, I'm not a PC freak. And I happened to have the sufficient requirement to play that game on my laptop. Buy a PC for games? We have gaming consoles for that.

@BonsaiEternity I don't need to know it's specs to know that a cheap desktop PC will blow it's doors off.

A 6870 will run this game in DX11 1080p maxed.

Put simply, a $100 discrete GPU will run this game well at 1080p and look twice as good as any console version.

I have desktop and a laptop, and even though the laptop is 2yrs newer than the desktop, the desktop KILLS it for performance, especially gaming performance.

Proper gaming laptops are 2k+

kind of a long shot but maybe its because you have something called " dynamic motion blur " on your Lcd. Turning this off will clear it up I know it worked out like that for my bro. Aside from that, the graphics in this game are just horrible anyway. Codemasters really low balled this series with a poor graphics engine. Grid looks better and that came out few years ago

Really, only thing you prove here is that your PS3 has a hardware problem, or the disk has issues, or your PS3 is heating up very much. Especially on a console, when you see things like that, and other people don't, it is a problem on your side, nod from the developer.

I'm on PC and i had a problem like this once and it was also only happening on select games. the reason behind it was that the ram on my graphics card was overheating; however, i just ignored it and then one day the ram got totally fried up and my computer wouldn't display anything on my monitor. i got a new card and fixed the problem.

@Mrhellsy, sorry you make no sense. Go to Codemasters web site and you will see many threads about it. Overheating will get detected and shut the sys down long before the gfx hardware malfunctions. It is a software problem as one can put in another game straight after and not have the problem.

It's not caused by "graphics card over heating", ...that is meaningless non-sense from people that know zero about computers. As soon as I played PS3 2011 version I was stunned at the low quality of the graphics,.. then looked online (codemasters forums) and sure enough there is a multitude of threads started about it.

@Noumenal1 Yeah....wait what do you mean? Thats 1o1 overheating, And normally racing tiles are very sensitive to heat. you shouldn't blame Codemasters for showing the weaknesses of that system. But you should try cleaning the vents and see if that makes a different. But those glitchs that you see in THIS VIDEO are becuase hardware is overheating.....now you have to presume that ps3 has little vents that can get blocked up with dust.....see i know lots!

The problem is NOT the disc or the PS3,.. it is the software. I have the PS3 version and the aliasing is too distracting to play the game, while GT5 looks great on the PS3. Go to Codemasters website forum and see how many others are shocked by this poor quality of the ps3 version.

I havent seen any of these glitches, not even the one on Spa-Franchorchamps. My guess is that your PS3's gfx card is overheating and causing visual errors, ive had this on a previous ps3 in F1 2010 - new ps3, no more weird looking glitches. I hope for your sake that it isnt your ps3 but i highly suspect it.

Thanks for highlighting these issues. I am getting the 360 version I hope that isn't glitched to hell. This is unacceptable considering the amount of development time Codemasters have had and the price of the game itself, this should not be released in this state. No doubt you will have to endure a huge download patch to try and correct these glitches if CM can be bothered that is.
