Just totally awesome. I hope to go to Wabakimi in the next year or two. I so much appreciate willingness to share this video and to make it so interesting,.
Aside from his early business and financial success (and obvious building craftsmanship) did Beckwith contribute anything to the advancement of scientific knowledge? Great video and trip Kev, love your books - keep paddling and writing!
I am an x camper and councillor at Camp Temagami. Not as challenging but I think canoe tripping in almost any northern Ontario lake is a wonderful life experience.
This video was a great tribute to Wendell Beckwith and his remote Island Hermitage on Best Island at Whitewater Lake. I use to visit Wendell each year in the early 70's on fishing trips to Northern Ontario with my Grandfather. Wendell had a little dog named Rex that kept him company in the cold long winters. All of his cabins were amazingly hand crafted including the roof shingles which were hand hewn.
I want to thank you for putting this piece together! I've been searching for a long time for footage of Wendel's places. I'm so happy to see the cabins are still in good shape, from what I can tell. What inspired you to document Wendell Beckwith?
Great video if it didn't have the stupid opera.Doesn't fit it at all. Idiot who made this video filmed mostly himself instead of the cabin and area

That's a good question. His mathematical works were placed at a museum in Thunder Bay but I havn't heard of them having any meaning as of yet.

The fishing was great, especially the first river section off the train. Walleye at every rapid and large pike throughout.

What was the fishing like?
