Dan Peek did leave the group. He says the fame, wealth, drugs and alcohol almost killed him. Some think the band fell off because Peek left? I am not so sure? America's greatest hits were written and sung by each of the three at times alone. To say that Peek was to America as say Phil Collins was to Genesis is wrong I think anyway!

The group managed to have some success (this song hit the top 10 in 1982), but the group never achieved the same success they had when Peek was in the group. Peek will probably never reunite with the band but still gets along with Gerry Buckley and Dewey Bunnell
