Ok this is maybe not a 'masterpiece', but it's direct,genuine, and not inaccessible like
much of the 'academic' contemporary music (eg Boulez,Lutoslawski) where you need a degree in astrophysics to understand the score. Saying that, I dont want to see music go the other way and descend into bland 'chillout' Eric Whitacre territory.
minor chords arpeggiated up and down like you would on a piano except using an orchestra. I swear sometimes I think Glass is getting away with being the literary equivalent of Dr Seuss, I don't hear anything brilliant about this.
