we use kahawai this size as livebaits for striped marlin down here at whakatane and hes using them for snapper i wouldnt of even thought of it

i caught two of these kahawais in kaikura on the beach...one of the best fighting fish there is given its size! love nz!

I've never seen a snap nail a live bait. I put one of those out (dead) and got busted of in similar fashin in the coromandel.
