you can always tell a subpar Blanka player when they throw out random EX rainbow rolls from halfscreen. those ambiguous crossups might carry you in scrubby online play but you'll get murdered for it in tourneys

this match is a pretty good illustration of how much worse Blanka is than everyone used to think, though. sure, he's got decent combos and good mix-up, but his fundamentals are weak and limited. once you find ways around his tricks, there's barely anything he can do

I play Blanka, and that was a pretty good Blanka, not the best. I give him credit though, dealing with turtles can be a pain.

Justin Wong himself said on Gootecks' podcast that he was thinking of playing Blanka on Daigo in the EVO finals cause there's one Blanka player in Japan that makes Daigo look free.

I've no idea what's the name of the Blanka player. You should listen to Gooteck's interview with Justin Wong right after EVO2K9. Justin Wong talks about his experience in Japan, his thoughts during the final match, and the characters he was thinking about picking against Daigo. He mentioned that there was a Blanka player that would just follow Daigo from cabinet to cabinet and make Daigo look free.

That hop is just three buttons. You don't have to do anything else to hop. Hold down forward and hop around, you'll keep the charge for ex up ball
