I'd go with TES III: Morrowind, X-COM (original), Star Control 2, OpenTTD, Outcast, Gothic 1-3, Deus Ex, Operation Flashpoint, IL-2 Sturmovik, Silent Hunter 3 & 4, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Arcanum, Fallout 1 & 2, Planescape: Torment, Mount&Blade etc. Every single one of them a real PC-game, not a cheapo console port with reduced gameplay and controllability.
