August 6 of '83 was the airing of the second show? That means the very first one happened on July 30, 1983, it's debut. I do not remember the very first ones till the end of '83.

What was awesome in the Jacksonville area Rock 105 would simulcast the show on the radio so you could record anything or just crank it up and dance.
