Hehe thats the great thing about these old cars. I've got an VW bug Speedster (comes in a kit), but with a 1600cc, double weber carb and sidewinder exhaust. i think it's putting out 80 - 90 hp. But when you rev it it sound like you got 250 - 300 horses under it:P. Great thing though, doesn't make you wanna go to fast:p
That's awesome that you tackled such a rusty project, and made it turn out so well! I inherited a '74 that's in good (but aging) original condition. The body is in excellent shape, but the interior is brittle. I love driving it.
I'm not in love with the orange roof though...
Those empi wheels look good black. I might have to paint mine black. Currently they're magnesium colored and don't really match anything else on the car. Great job!
DUDE I OWN A 73!, but it's the 2.0 litre. and it's odd too I have the 150 MPH speedo on mine as well. strange huh? for a car that only does 180 kph ( I live in canada )
im not a big fan on the 914 my buddies father owns a 78 911 turbo he bout it after the previous owner totaled it for around 2000.00 him, his son me and my father all rebuilt it back to original show room condition verry nice car if i must say so myself
I've been living this video for the last three years. My 75 2.0 is on jackstands w/ the engine pulled waiting to be rebuilt. I found in in Sunol Ca neglected on the side of the rd. w/ a 1000.00 for sale sign, then offered 700.00 and the took it. The best 700.00 I've spent.
Do you by chance have a higher quality version of this video, maybe with the entire process, available? I would love to see all the processes you had to go through as I am starting a resto on a 914 I just acquired. Thanks. You can get in touch at hippie1620 at gmail dot com
I'm 34 and I had 2 at one time a70' and 76' with the 2.00 dual 44 carb that i converted but had the teouble smoging the f--- car so I had to sell it.I lowered it and This car would haul ass.Loved it.

My dad had a green one when I was around 6 years old. My brother and I called it "Froggy". The main reason I am a proud Porsche owner today!
