  • Every time she pronounces is doytchee i die a little

  • great album. and she looks so beautiful here

  • tori rocks,

  • Take things seriously... keep expanding... not many artists think this way unfortunately. I respect her choices and integrity.

  • Tori is such a nice lady. I hope she keeps on making great albums.

  • 'The Beekeeper, which is probably your most important work, by the way'

    shananana-na-na-na!

  • such a milf

  • Am I the only one who notices that Tori is so obviously with child again? Not sure why she hasn't chosen to announce the pregnancy, but I bet we'll get news of the birth later this year... Exciting!

  • but i did want to mention how great this interview is. she's no longer talking in ridiculous metaphors or purposely trying to be vague. oh god, i've figured it out... maybe her lucid interviews equal boring albums, and back when she was a lunatic, she put out exciting and good albums.

  • ugh... this album is awful. i've been hoping ever since, the beesleeper was released, that tori would redeem herself. but every album since just gets more self indulgent, longer, and more pretentious than the last. i wish they wouldn't have shown clips from the glory days to make me even more bitter lol.

  • @toribjork10 her album is awful? it's inspired by classic composers!what the...

  • @AnneClairee and? i still think it's dull and yes, awful. i'm not into classical music. i usually listen to punk, and tori was the the softest artist i was into. now she's way too soft for me. i could care less about her plastic surgery or lyrical subject matter as of late, my concern is that the music itself has become to comatose for me, puts me to sleep.

  • @toribjork10 I was unsure about Night of the Hunters too, it took a few listens but I saw Tori in Berlin and Glasgow late last years and I was blown away and actually enjoyed it more than I did when I saw her two years ago and the last two ocassions she played solo together with a fabulously talented string quartet. Tori did some of her old stuff from most of her albums but the songs she played from Night of the Hunters was incredible and I am old old punk too.

  • @toribjork10 by the way for an artist to survive they have to adapt with their audience, U2 got slated for years for changing their ways, the Beatles also changed their style and music over the short years they were together, Sting also, and Tori is doing the same. The thing with Toriis you never know what's around the corner, her album Midwinter Graces is an awesome piece of work crafted from old carols with her own twist, very original.

  • @TalkToTheBody actually tori has stated many times that she doesn't adapt to her audience. she's said explicitely "i don't write or perform for anyone but myself". and a lot of her fans think that this albums idea is so original, but song cycles are common in classical music. with tori nothing, imo, is exciting "coming around the corner", its all been about 5 albums lately of the same watered down production. i love when artists change, tori's first 6 albums were all different.

  • @toribjork10 but she did say on hard talk that she has to listen to what her audience wants too or words to that effect. A lot of artists do get caught up in the glory of fame and talk bullshit, Oasis were masters at it but people grow up as Tori has. The thing with Tori is you just cannot work her out and what she will do next, who knows her next album could be a children's songs album (a good idea as someone said) or it could be an all out ballsy rock album with guitars.

  • @TalkToTheBody but her latest albums all have the same awful production sound too it. pluse the fact that she doesn't edit her albums, we're left with 20 songs per album and it really drags the quality down. she was incredibly more dynamic in her earlier years, listening to choirgirl and pele or even scarlet and you're in 3 very diff albums. i can't tell her latest albums apart. and this one just bores me. glad you like it, but it's not my style. although i'll admit her voice is coming back

  • @toribjork10 I would love to argue with you ha., but I have to agree with you. I still think Little Earthquakes is her best album, I guess because it is very raw and hits every emotion but she has gone on to punch out some awesome songs, too long too list. Night of the Hunters is what it is, it's not a long album at all but when I saw her perform songs from it live it was really good. Filtering out filler songs to leave more quality songs may be a shame as you loose those others

  • @TalkToTheBody i've only listened to it online. even though i haven't like any of her albums after SW, i still bought them just to try them out. after being disappointed so many times i just gave up and i didn't even bother with this one. i listened to a few of the reworked older songs she did recently live. they were ok, i'm sure if i was actually there it would've been better. i don't care about her plastic surgery like other fans are pissed about, i just care about her art.

  • @TalkToTheBody but it's all good. i've got her albums that i love and there's plenty of newer artists out now that put out albums in a similar vein that i can go to when i'm in the mood for that style.

  • @toribjork10 I agree with the different albums thing, but in my opinion this is very good. The Beatles and U2 have constantly reinvented themselves, receiving mixed reviews from die-hard fans but inevitably their fans warm to the change. Midwinter Graces in my opinion is a fabulously crafted album. The only album I despise is her cover versions album..strange little girls, an embarrassment!

  • @TalkToTheBody lol, i like SLG. and the tour was good for that album also. i don't like it as much as some others, but i'd still take it over the beekeeper of that xmas album that i use as a coaster.

  • @toribjork10 It's a shame you dislike Midwinter Graces, you like what you like I guess. As an ex punk and having seen many of the original punk bands and I still play some of it on my guitar I do like keeping my ears open for new ideas and differents genres (apart from rap)

  • @TalkToTheBody midwinter graces is damn awful lol!

  • @Uktrayf That's your opinion. Some people just want spoon feeding the same food every day and will not warm to the idea of change. Midwinter Graces is an amazing hybrid of old carols with a modern twist and the whole production and recording was in my opinion amazing. It's a Christmas album, it feels festive and was cleverly done. The best artists tend to keep their ears open to lots of ideas, it's what makes them the best and lack of awareness can finish a band very quickly

  • @TalkToTheBody Great comment, thank you!

  • She looks pretty amazing for being 50...

  • Her new stuff puts me to sleep...

  • Is she pregnant again?

  • She meant to sit at the left so she could cover up her tummy with the right arms with that wavy bit of material. She looks very fake with that face that does not move. She is obviously more insecure than what she seemed.

  • can i just say, i love her stuff but what is with the way she is sitting in this interview?

  • @Finditindustrial Sorry, but why should that matter?

  • If y'all like girls on piano you should check out Sarah Slean. She's an amazing talent from Canada.

  • I love that Tori is Tori. Tori at her best, is when she is stripped of all her beauty and the orange clouds are raining in her head! She is ALWAYS producing original and unforgettable pieces. The more I listen to a particular song from years ago that I would have skipped over back then, are now what comprise my playlists now. I always find something new in her songs each time that I hear them live or recorded. I am just so thankful that I have gotten to see her play live more than once!

  • wow, didn't even recognize her!

  • WTF did she do to her face? She looks worse than grandma Madonna! She's still a Kate Bush-wannabe I don't care what she says. You just have to listen to her songs then Kate's old stuff, the Piano and vocal arrangements sounds exactly like Kate.

  • @hardtechnoboy I've heard Kate's early stuff. Tori doesn't sound like her enough to warrant the "wannabe" title that you're sticking onto her.

  • I've only heard "Edge of the Moon" but I'm really intrigued. She has such a...girly voice. But not really. Like, it's not a pop music voice, it's very mature as feminine as it is. I don't know how to explain it.

  • @AMuseTodor I'd say she's got a womanly voice--a full, warm, soothing, even motherly at times, and womanly voice.

  • @ciararavenblaze Yes, I listened to "Night of Hunters" the full album and I see what you mean. Having only heard "Edge of the Moon" at the time of that comment I feel now that I should have listened to her more before commenting. But her voice is still very hard for me to "explain". I don't know how to describe it.

  • @AMuseTodor I understand what you mean. the words I gave you don't quite hit it on the nail either. they come close, but not quite close enough.

  • @ciararavenblaze Yeah! It's a very difficult voice to do justice to with words isn't it?

  • @AMuseTodor indeed it is. the best thing to do is just tell someone to listen and then make 'em listen.

  • @ciararavenblaze On that note. I've only heard "Night of Hunters". Is there a specific album you would recommend to a new listener?

  • @AMuseTodor well, it depends on your music tastes in general, because while Tori is "that girl and her piano", the musical styles she uses change EVERY time. I would go to Wikipedia and look her up and then read about her albums, and then decide from there--or just start with Little Earthquakes or To Venus and Back.

  • @ciararavenblaze When it comes to "musical tastes" I don't have a specific preference. I prefer quieter music but that's as far as it goes. I can listen to anything and I'll find something to like about it. Let's try again, what's your personal favourite? haha

  • @AMuseTodor hands down, American Doll Posse--but that one is *wayyyy* more rock driven than any of her work. in your case, I'd say start with Little Earthquakes and then work your way up from there.

  • @ciararavenblaze Rock's fine. Like I said, anything goes musically with me. I'll give those two a listen. Thanks!

  • @AMuseTodor you're welcome. if you like what you start with, get everything else--don't even hesitate. :D

  • @ciararavenblaze Oh trust me, when I find something I like I will find everything. EVERYTHING I TELL YOU.

  • @AMuseTodor good, good. :D I do hope you aren't disappointed a bit. :D

  • @ciararavenblaze Listened to Little Earthquakes. Not dissapointed at all. Loved it.

  • @AMuseTodor hooray! ^O^

  • @AMuseTodor Haha, Good luck finding 'Y Kant Tori Read'.

  • @Metallimeister Intriguing....

  • @AMuseTodor you can download Y Kant Tori Read since it's out of print. it's a fun album. it's definitely not Tori's best, but it is fun.

  • @AMuseTodor The Beekeeper......but difficult to single just one out.....her early stuff is amazing

  • @AMuseTodor Little Earthquakes, under the pink, boys for Pele.

  • @Metallimeister Thank you very much. It seems "Little Earthquakes" is definitely one to try.

  • @AMuseTodor If the first song on that album doesn't get you. Then I don't know what will.

    Tori is Amazing.

  • @Metallimeister I listened to Little Earthquakes. SO GOOD. You guys were right to point me in that direction. It's so DIFFERENT from Night of Hunters. Are all her albums as diverse?

  • @AMuseTodor Each album is different. She grows as an artist (sign of a good artist)

  • @Metallimeister Amen, brother. Amen. I hate it when artists keep the same sound album-to-album. You gotta grow.

  • @AMuseTodor Well then, you're in for a ride with Tori. Haha

  • @AMuseTodor yes they are--they're all Tori and her piano (of course) but they're very different from the other.

  • @ciararavenblaze Yeah. Man, Girl-Behind-A-Piano-Pop/Rock is just SO GOOD.

  • @AMuseTodor it absolutely is! :D when it's done right. and Tori does it right. :D

  • @ciararavenblaze She does it all kinds of right.

  • @AMuseTodor that's the truth. :D oh, she's also got a lot of b-sides too--check out hereinmyhead dot c om (I'm paranoid about URLs not getting through on here >.>) to see the list of everything she's done--from covers to b-sides and so on. :D

  • The Beekeeper is one of her best albums. It saddens me to see so much hate for it

  • @Yetaxa i put a like to your message...but also, it's not to say "this is maybe your most important work", the guy doesn't know, they're ALL important records

  • @Yetaxa I agree. there are albums of hers that I like and listen to a lot more, but the Beekeeper *is* a great album and shouldn't be trashed nearly as much as it is.

  • @Yetaxa People are idiots.

  • @Yetaxa i'm curious as to why you like it? the production is awful and probably the worst of any of her albums, the adult contemporary sound to it absolutely kills any natural acoustic sound of the instrumentation. the "concept", ie gardens etc, was really shoddy and not fleshed out. her voice was in terrible condition during the recording, thankfully it's recovered. and there were about 9 too many songs off fluffy sleeper songs. i mean, "ireland", really? that album was simply passionless.

  • good interview :) she looks lovely

  • @MsViolentwhispers Well said. Sadly there are a lot of kids looking for fault here. (If you search for fault, you will surely find it.)

  • Apparently she's had a facelift or at least botox. I don't know why she would. When she was younger she had the perfect face. It was a delight just looking at her. It even produced belief in something. Why would you adulterate it. Can't understand it.

Would you think Mona Lisa needs a botox injection? No you wouldn't!

She let her fans down I think. Her beauty was something to behold. It stopped you and made you believe in something. Now it doesn't. Why do it. Why??!

  • @iankyoko because it's her body and we have no right to tell her what to do with it?

  • ugh...she looks terrible...never would have imagined she would turn into this after those brutally sincere records. I guess she was faking it all along.

  • @1b1b1k sure, if by "faking it" you mean "living her own life and not giving a shit what people think of what she does to her body".

  • @1b1b1k Fuck you

  • That is hilarious! "Probably you're most important work, I'd say" - He's never even HEARD of The Beekeeper!! And any Tori fan would tell you that Pele, Choirgirl and Scarlet's Walk would compete to be her 'most important'. Jeeze.

  • @Boys4Pele For your info, Bill actually IS a beekeeper in real life, so he knows EXACTLY what he is talking about ^_^ He has even written a book about it...

  • I love Tori no matter how she looks.. all her music is wonderful. I saw Tori at the London Palladium in the mid 90's, it was a fabulous performance!!

  • i’m trying too but I’m afraid it’s impossible to get used to that face ! It’s a different person, a mix between kate Bush & Cher ? Oh my God !!

  • A sexy girl grew into this devine creautre of beauty like the sky open and pouring out every season truly wonderful!

  • The best looking and most talented Red Head alive!

  • Love her and the album is great

  • From what I've hear...her knew album is breathtaking!!!sigh!

  • Haha, The Beekeeper lol. MOST IMPORTANT YES. RIBBONS UNDONE EVERYWHERE!

  • Love this interview but what's with all the flak for her album, the Beekeeper? I thoroughly enjoyed that album. Might not have been as rock oriented as say Choirgirl Hotel, but found it to be along the same vein as Scarlet's Walk. One guy here in Winnipeg gave the album an "A", in a local publication, when it was released. Obviously she was exploring a more subdued sound, but to each their own.

  • Tori is such a proud mama when she talks about Tash starting at Sylvia Young!

  • I LOVE the way she speaks, like a royal ideal or something. So soft, and yet eloquent and to-the-point.

  • @Kooriism She's definitely unique. I think the interviewers were gearing-up for another, typically chatty, self-deprecating and sly interviews of "Stardom: 2011"...but she's different. That's not who she is. The ethereal perspective seems to inform her quite a bit and it gives her a dreamy quality when speaking. But she seems very secure, very self-assured (with no affectations) here and it's pleasant to watch. I like when people are allowed to be different from one another.

  • what a fool that man is. and stop bitching about Tori's face. She looks gorgeous.

  • @Joniyay agreed. and besides, it's none of our business what she does to her body.

  • what a poser. Painful to watch such nonsense.

  • @KGLNYC You can call Tori Amos many things, but you can't call her a poseur. She's definitely an original. And I think a lot of the "posing" you're referring to, involves some artists of today who were probably inspired by her.

  • @KGLNYC you're hilarious. XD

  • beekeeper was the first, if i may, conceptual album... as in.. intermingled storylines. in that respect. its great. but they ALL are important, thank you very much :-) you know i take that back... scarletts walk was?

  • @huitzil07 - Scarlett's Walk was her first concept album.

  • @mumsdrunk was there not a concept in for Under the Pink and Boys for Pele.

  • @mumsdrunk yeahs, totally

  • beekeeper was the first, if i may, conceptual album... as in.. intermingled storylines. in that respect. its great. but they ALL are important, thank you very much :-)

  • Here is what I notice about this interview. They first criticize her outfit, and in my opinion make fun of her by saying "float away." Maybe not completely making fun, but looking a bit askance down their noses. Also, I find it rude that they ask "for what" did she get kicked out of the Peabody. Read some biography, please. She is still so poised, so graceful. <3

Also, remember that the songs they show are ones that charted highest in the UK.

  • What happened to her face?

  • @marmadukejones She looks beautiful. And the beauty within her always shines through.

  • LOVE YOU TORI

  • OMG! A brand new album from Kate Bush. That's a real Xmas gift! T H A N K Y O U KATE I love you! Greetings from Brazil!

  • @TheSensualWorld1 what does Kate Bush (aside from the tired comparisons to her that people constantly make with Tori) have to do with this?

  • 4:33 WHAAAAT???!!!

  • "Beekeeper" most important work???? Really???? how - it is one of her weakest album. Her top 3 albums in my opinion are From the choirgirl hotel, Little Earthquakes and Boys for pele.

  • This is a good album - too bad it comes after a string of not so good albums.

  • Oh man Tori used to be so pretty before she got old. It's like your face changes when you age or something. What a shame that she covered up that strange old face with cosmetics instead of getting into a time machine to be pretty and young again!

  • seems that way

  • has she been on the botox?

  • @dermotoblong she has indeed. Sad to see really, she is naturally attractive and doesn't need botox.

  • I'm quite possibly an anomaly here, but Tori looks just spectacular <33

  • @ShazzaWT an anomaly? if you're an anomaly, then so am I. :)

  • Nothing wrong with The Beekeeper, but I wouldn't say it's her best!

  • we all know about her face by now, but what's happened to her accent?? :)

  • I love the Beekeeper, but you can't say that one album was the best work, Tori is an artist with an extense bodywork, all her work is her best work because she is amazing.

  • OMG! Tori´s face changed totally! Now she really looks like a puppet! She was so pretty before! :-/ Well but still making awesome music!

  • Interviewing TORI WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT UMMM... YOU LOOK SO FKN DUMB ... AND SHE KNOWS IT ... THE BEEKEEPER HER BEST WORK? WTF? LITTLE EARTHQUAKES, UNDER THE PINK, BOYS FOR PELE, CHOIRGIRL, SCARLETS WALK AMAZING, THEY HAVE NO IDEA,, LOVE THE LOOK ON MISS T'S FACE ... <3

  • The anchor women gets it, the guy on the otherhand...yikes!

  • i'm still trying to get used to her new face....

  • @cullycucc I am still trying to get used to assholes like you who judge on things they have NO idea about. She needed surgery for TMJ... thank God her throat was not damaged because it has never sounded better. And you sound like a bitter, little nobody.

  • @melindalu last I checked, she never did have surgery on her jaw, but uses Tiger Balm on it instead. where did you hear that she had surgery done on it? I'm curious.

  • @cullycucc Tori seems to be trying to get used to her new face too. but if she turned into an elephant tomorrow, I would still recognize her spirit and love her generosity in sharing it with us.

  • @cullycucc could you tell me what looks different about it? i noticed this too, but i can not figure out what it is...

  • lol those journalist know nothing about tori seemed by the way they talked about her and in the evideo they played they just showed 1 song ? pft. cant wait to see tori on her new live shows

  • Maybe he REALLY knew what was up and it was his chance to take a jab at her for The Beekeeper!! lol

  • if he said her most important works are 'Strange little girls' or 'American doll posse'....all of us would SCREAM!!!

  • @300hundred300 I'd scream with glee if he said that about ADP. that album is AWESOME.

  • Thanks to have posted! :)

  • I love Carry. I just feel amazing while listening to that song, true beauty.

  • SHE LOOKS PREGGO

  • @flippantd yeah, I can't disagree, but... she's forty-eight and she's had a history of miscarriages (Tash, if you think about it, is basically a miracle child), so I doubt she's actually pregnant. I think either her metabolism is slowing down on her, or maybe her doctor told her to take it easy and not be as active as she's been (c'mon, she's looked pretty wiry in the past five or so years, hasn't she?), or something similar.

  • @flippantd also bear in mind that Tori has ALWAYS been a fan of eating good food, and that she's staunchly anti "lite" and "half fat"--she'd rather burn the calories in the gym and/or onstage. if her doctor's told her to stop being *as* active as she's been, and/or her metabolism is slowing down on her, she's bound to have gained some weight--and I think that's a good thing, to be honest.

  • beautiful

  • beautiful

  • she walked out of there thinking "that guy is a fucking moron"

  • She is so weird

  • @cooldude392 and that is why she's far more interesting than "normal" (translation: boring) people.

  • @ciararavenblaze Are you implying that all people who are not normal are weird? Last time I checked, weird and different were two very dissimilar adjectives.

  • @cooldude392 no, I'm implying that all people who are "weird" are more interesting than those who are "normal".

  • listening to tori speak is like coming home.

  • I love everything about Tori's music, but I also love her style! So trendy yet unique, and without being all slutty!

  • @saltywounds I tried that once, actually--told a friend of mine to get Little Earthquakes when I should have told him to get To Venus and Back (he wasn't a fan of it). TVAB is a lot more "accessible", I've noticed--a lot of my fellow Tori fan friends got into her by getting that album first and then going and getting the rest of her work.

  • Comment removed

  • Priceless! I just love her 'Margot Channing' frozen stare with his epic-fail reference to Beekeeper.

  • Original Sinsuality, The Beekeeper, Toast, Jamaica Inn, Sweet the sting, Mary's of the Sea - TBK has many important tracks, not to mention written/recorded when her mom was in the hospital...the beekeeper sorta of referencing the grim reaper in my opinion and how she had a tango with him. Boys for Pele I think is probably her most important but i think every album has it's importance in her cannon.

  • NO WIG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @antuonchris Are you kidding me? Tori's real hair has never looked like that. It's just a better wig, sorry.

  • @antuonchris hair extension

  • @pierreerichexum No, it's a lace-front wig

  • @antuonchris no--just a better one.

  • God I love this woman lol
