Nobody is GOD, but maybe it IS wrong in God's eyes. Even if it does or doesn't refer to that in The Bible, you can just 'feel' it is wrong. It seems like a perversion to me, but that's me. Even if it were ok with God, I still find it hard to digest it. Why do they need to marry anyway? I liked it better when they were in the closet, then we wouldn't have all this mess. I don't mean to be mean, I just don't understand the much NEED to be gay and to such a degree. Seems so twisted.

One can still even have friends that are or work with those that are (it's kind of hard to avoid it these days, unfortunately) yet not agree with it nor embrace it. I think he's trying to put forth that he is not viciously against them, even it not agreeing with it, and actually works with them in charitable work in other important areas, but does not condone what they are or their marriages, etc. because it being his feeling perhaps as well as what he thinks is wrong in God's eyes.

It does bother others' though. It's EVERYWHERE and I, being straight should not have to see it, experience it, watch it in any form, etc. I try to avoid, but can't always. It's just really getting to be very annoying, which gets people angry. I don't hate them, I just don't like nor agree with the lifestyle, that's all, and don't want it to permeate my life. Many people feel that way, even if they aren't saying so.

Why are some people afraid to just come out and say they are against homosexuality? We don't all have to agree about it. Some like chocolate, some like vanilla, etc. So what? You can NOT like something too. NOT agree with something. I think being gay is wrong, but I should be able to think that way and say it, just like those for it. I don't think that any violence, etc. should EVER be used against them and it IS their right to be that way if they choose, as long as it don't bother others.

I say, if you want to love (feelings...not sex) someone of same sex...great..cool. If you do sex, though, not cool, but whatever..to each it's own,..but gay marriage or gays raising kids? ... a fat NO, that's going too far. What's next? allowing people to have sex with animals..marrying them too, etc.? Disgusting...all of it. Why can't people just be normal? Can I just say as someone who studies Anthropology that this guy doesn't take into account that vastly different definitions of marriage and families in both historical and current cultures. The institution of marriage, gender, etc. are all constructed - the divisions we make and the regulations surrounding them are, in many ways, as arbitrary as race. Just saying, polygamy is more historically constant than the 'one man one woman' model. Point being, your god didn't make marriage, people did.

It was neither allowed nor disallowed. It certainly wasn't the subject of the hate campaigns that supposed "Christians" advocate today - things like Pro 8. That is just about being treated like an equal human being. I think another of J's commands was "Do unto others as you would have then do unto you." So if you want your hospital visiting rights protected, you need to protect those of others.

Yes, but that doesn't discuss marriage. In Numbers (I think - if I give you another 3 months you'll look it up for me) there are instructions about how to induce a miscarriage if your wife is bearing some other bloke's baby. Also in OT there are condemnations of menstruating women, what to do if someone bad mouths their parents etc... All of which we pay the utmost regard to, and obey to the letter....Yeah right. What a liar!!!! 5,000 years - did he count them all? 2%? More like at least 1 in 10! I have yet to find the bit in the Bible about marriage being for a man and a woman. Jesus was born outside of it, and marriage was more like a property deal between families then anyway. Gays don't want your stinking word marriage, they might just want to receive the same fiscal benefits as other couples, to be able to visit partners in hospital, to be treated as human etc... etc....
