  • Just another example of the mountain of talent we were fortunate to have in the 70s. In my opinion the greatest decade of music!!! Todd is an awsome talent. What a great song. God i miss those days!!!!

  • Todd is a musician's super hero... The common rock/pop listener recognizes some of his tunes as RUNT/Todd and Utopia... But the rock elite consider him a recording, writing and performing ICON...... Just as an early Steve Miller Band was to the likes of McCartney and the top performers..... Heart strings in the lyrical world.. He owns it...

  • that is W.F.R. JR.

  • To my one true love William Frank Rydlewski R.I.P. Happy Valentine's Day I guess I beleive that I'll see you one day,For without it there is no dream.......

  • How can I still cry from this song after 38 years?

  • @m23c2sh I feel the same way...

  • How much I loved you you'll never know.

  • 75年、集大成のトッド・ラングレン、この重量感2枚組、哀愁旋律"Dream Goes On Forever"~アルバム"TODD"は楽しめすぎた!!

  • why the long face Todd???

  • @stills4589 Hahahaha!!

  • @stills4589 you're a dick

  • What a fantastic song writer! Todd could belt em outta the park with the best of them in back then! "Oh this just in! Liv Tyler is his off spring!

  • @1957thack Yep, pretty much - cuz Steven wasn't around...

  • Hey Todd, If you look at this stuff, It's Bob from the Woody's Truck Stop days at the Artists Hut in Philly.

    Nice stuff bud.

  • Got it. I recall back in 87 while in S.C. and stationed at Shaw AFB, I drove to Columbia and was shopping for music. I have a habit of going blank whenever I'm in a music store so I have to take a moment to calm down and focus. I'm hearing the latest by XTC (Oranges and Lemons) in the background and then I hear this song. The initial note on the intro was like a hit from behind. Hadn't heard it in years. As a result , I left the store with this Lp, Wizard, and Something/Anything. Priceless!

  • best album ever

  • Check out Todd's latest work on LFDH.COM

  • virgin suicides

  • really beautiful. i would love for someone to cover his songs.

  • Smooth, powerful, magically melodic, philosophical, ever gently demanding, brilliant, overwhelming, succinct, romantic in its own way, strongly pleading, to the point... simply amazing, more than "just" music. It makes my feelings expand beyond words. I wish *I* had written this golden gem as I had been 'left standing here', with 'life's biggest tragedy'. Mr. Rundgren - if you doubtfully ever read this - you are a genius, and I cannot thank you enough. Many thanks to BlueOrpheus1988 for posting!

  • I want to have his baby. ;) Seriously..really? How could anyone be this unspeakably visionary & talented? I LOVE YOU TODD! Now & forever...how much you'll never know.

  • I'm telling you the truth when I say that this album saved me from more than one bad acid trip, about 3 decades ago now - playing it over and over again was my liferaft when my world was dissolving around me - it was the only thing that kept me from disappearing down the rabbit hole perhaps never to return... I will forever be indebted to Todd for the magic that is in all of his music and especially for this one, the one that I feel truly saved my life.

  • heard he was madly in love with Lara Nyro for more than an elpee's worth of tunes...

  • He is amazing

  • YOU DID A AWESOME JOB WITH THE SOUND. I SAW TODD BACK IN THE DAY. IF YOU LISTEN TO HIS LYRICS FROM MANY MANY YEARS AGO-WE STILL HAVE NOT ACCOMPLISHED MUCH-BESIDES DISRESPRECT AND A NATION THAT CRUMBLES MORE EVERY DAY CLASS OF 1976

  • August 27th 2010 i played this song as i drove away from the vet's office after putting my dog Annabelle to sleep

  • @Edshread

Gosh, that's so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry about your Annabelle. May she one day join you within your dream.

  • @Edshread I'm so sorry. What a message that song was for you at that time. The dream/spirit goes on forever. You will see her again. Best wishes to you.

  • Awesome song and yes sad. Makes me think of the 70's and 80's. I was a little kid but I had appreciation for beautiful music. Wonderful memories.

  • a dream goes on forever....todd rund...fuckin rocks

  • Todd fans are the most intelligent, sensitive, REAL people on the planet-I love you all!

  • Remember - Mark David Chapman was a Rundgren fan!! So he was insane but liked good music.

  • @duffymcgraff oh, well, cant win 'em all-

  • @TheEDZEPPELINBAND You'd better believe it!! TODD IS GODD!!

  • Some were just born with the 'music gene'. The depth of this man's talent is one thing. Listen to this, then go listen to something like "MANIPURA-SEAT OF FIRE". His breadth OF creativity is truly astounding.

  • Oh my God can anyone be more brilliant than Todd Rundgren? I'd love to meet him some day and have the honor of shaking his hand.

  • @shimmyhinnah

I would also love to meet him. He is the most underrated musician of our time. Of course, us Todd fans know he is a genius!

  • @shimmyhinnah

I caught the plectrum he threw into the audience when I saw him at Manchester Apollo.

  • @EvenThisNameTaken

I KNOW that feeling...he hit me straight to my heart last Halloween~thought my bra gad exploded (((tee hee)) <3 ;( 2010 in Bloomington, IN. Nice name for his guitar pic...I'll remember that in scrabble ;)

  • @shimmyhinnah I met him (and Kasim) in Kansas City a few years ago and he's very nice in person.

  • @billwendt pardon my ignorance, but who is Kasim?

  • @jejones211 Kasim Sulton is one of the most talented bass (among others) player in the wolrd who was part of utopia !

  • @justlalalooo

thought he was probably a musician. Thanks for the info!

  • @shimmyhinnah I almost dragged him off the stage once. :p

  • @shimmyhinnah you and me both!!

  • this song have inspiration into it i love this

  • If only I could write songs as heart-tuggingly beautiful as you do Todd.......

  • one of the best songs in the world

  • My favorite Todd song. So beautiful and sad at the same time.
