Until I saw this, I had no idea the New Seekers did this song. I never really liked it but having heard this, I have changed my views. How good is Pete Doyle (R.I.P) and the whole musical arrangement. In fact the whole group are just great and with such an edge. Excellent. shame they never got to do more like this. I was too young to appreciate the group in their hey day but better late than never.

@justnofrigginway the group were the new seekers and still have a good following. They were in the albums top ten a couple of years to ago to celebrate their 40th year in music!
Can't watch this enough times, brilliant. Think I prefer this to The Who's original and doesn't Eve look gorgeous! Wish they had done more rock covers. At this point people like Jimmy Page and Pete Townshend were sending them compliments but when Peter Doyle left they lost that edge.
This was the first time I had ever heard this song when it was released by the New Seekers. It was quite a departure from the previous singles (Circles & Come softly to me). I've yet to hear a better rendition, especially Peter and Lyn in the 'See me, hear me' slow section. I am sure this video was shown on TOTP at the time as I recall the pinball bits. Thanks for helping me relive great memories.
Now THIS is how to make a video! And for peanuts.
Aside from the obligatory shots of the pinball machine, what we get are the performers performing - no unrelated fake-Hollywood dramas, explosions or inter-galactic wars here; just close ups of their faces performing. Mind you, they did have a big advantage in the face department :-)
Listen for great music like this on a new radio station called "OffTheCharts" - featuring 70's (and some 80's) lost hits and chart wonders!

@comeon224 I still call them albums... albums on CDs. Yes, it's hard for people under, oh 25, to realize that we "dial a phone" because they had dials on them, were attached to the wall and were available in all colours, if you liked black, that is, the the Internet hasn't ALWAYS been around (nor Windows, nor home computers), that television used to be black and white and in the TV listings it would say if a programme were in COLOUR...
My goodness this brings back memories!! I had a HUGE crush on Pete Doyle and I hated Lyn Paul cos she got to sing with him!! Saw them at the Dome in Brighton. They don't have groups like this anymore!
@FaerieCrone THIS IS FAR BETTER THAN THE WHO'S OR ELTONS ITS JUST THAT PEOPLE DONT THINK ITS COOL ENOUGH TO ADMIT IT ...AND OF COURSE THE ADDED BONUS OF SEEING THE VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL EVE GRAHAM ..SHE'S DELICIOUS
Haven't heard this for years and years - I'd almost forgotten that they did that great version of it. I loved the New Seekers singing this. I must admit though, I found some of their other stuff a bit cheesy, but this song was brilliantly executed. F-A-N-T-A-B-U-L-O-U-S..............
Been a fan longer than I care to remember and I have only just discovered this promo video! Marty really gets an 'edge' going here which I wish he had had the chance to do more of. But it was the harmony on See Me Feel Me when Lyn joins Peter that was always the highlight for me and the look she gives him here is worth a thousand words. God rest him and continued blessing on Lyn - lets hope its not too long before her next album (check out 'Late Night' if you haven't done so).
I couldn't agree more. A total departure from what we were used to from The New Seekers back in the 70s but didn't they show what a great bunch of vocalists they were. Long may Lyn and Eve keep recording.
I heard this on the radio today for the first time and was knocked out by the sheer quality of the production. This group have a new record out soon with this track on it.
This Is so ABBA before they were even around! What a voice Peter Doyle had. Nobody could take his place. Have you heard how the present copycats have annihalated his beautiful song on the new album? Makes me want to cry.
I think this is a quality tribute to the Who, I remember this band growing up in the 70's..I think they had a great sound..The best cover of a Who song...Thanks for uploading
@TOFFEEBLUE344 - not only do you have a great name but you have musical taste. I worked in theatre for years and for one night only managed a show with Lyn Paul in it. I was too scared to say anything to her for fear of blowing away my childhood memories of The New Seekers. I kept up a professional image and only spoke to her when I had to. She was a lovely person and I hope she understood my nerves. That's my version of events. No one else in my theatre career had that effect on me.
their voices are perfect, good combination. Cant find the same nowadays.

Wow, this takes me back! Great rendition of a great classic. The New Seekers were nearly as good as the Seekers themselves; not quite though!

It's rather ABBA like indeed, but c'mon...the who's version is still better, even if it's just because it's actually their song...

Possibly Pete Townshend too! He was so blown away by this version that after he'd heard it he had to personally call up The New Seekers to grovel!!

If you watch ABBA's knowing me knowing you, you can see where AB have copied some of NS's theatrical moves from this song.

First time that I have ever seen this video, and I love it.
The New Seekers at the time were so versatile, and Peter Doyle is very much missed.
It is great to see Lyn Paul and Eve Graham belting this song out, now wouldn`t it be great if they got back together and did it all again.
