  • Shit, and all I have is a rotary payphone :(

  • @Nza420 Or a touch-tone phone. And it can probably be from any land-line as well.

  • gods we had one of these! the penthingy always messed up! it was such a pain to use!

  • ditch the new tagline "Ideas for Life" and stick with the old one which said "Just Slightly Ahead of Our Time" when Panasonic comes out with HDTVs and Blu-ray Disc Players.

  • Good day

I have 1 of this years models PV-3700-K. It needs repair, but looks mint!

It is small compared to other models during that time..

Their tv's were also good at that time..

Yes I have the same era working tv

  • sometimes is okay to use a phone to program the vcr.

but i mostly set up a timer recording in menu try it out today.

  • "HA!" to the description .

  • I'm sorry, but I feel that tapes are the ONLY way to watch movies at home. I will never buy a Blu-Ray disk. EVER.

  • @DisneyBlackJet sorry that you're stuck in the past

  • @0neofthem It's okay. :-)

  • @DisneyBlackJet What about regular DVDs? I feel like VHS to DVD was enough and instead of DVD to Blu-Ray, rather just go online for streaming. And it's God's country to be stuck in the past; the rules are closer to God's message, people use correct grammar/spelling/punctuation that their teachers taught them and not rebel and "break the rules". I'm staying in the 20th century and I'm proud about it!

  • They just got condom's too.

Anyone notice how old the parents look? They look like they're in their 60s and the kid has to be around 8.

  • That kind of technology cannot be surpassed even by todays DVRs.

  • Anyone notice how scratch resistant Blu-Ray disks are?

  • i love panasonic stuff. i still record lost every week with my 1987 vhs. my 30 inch 1999 tv has a nice picture still. long live panasonic...

  • @regressing2apes i love Panasonic stuff to. Sony is crap compared to Panasonic i keep a close eye on this kind of stuff and Panasonic is just the best far better than any Sony product. We have had alot of trouble with Sony products so now if i want something its Panasonic only!!

  • wow. making your child obsolete. BEST VCR EVAH!!!

  • LoL!

    \o/

Special Sensor in pen and support Program by Phone!

  • How long did Panasonic use the "Just slightly ahead of our time." slogan?

  • Nice video. Keep on with that good work!

  • I never found programming my 1985 Betamax very hard. I actually found VCR+ to be harder because you had to punch in the exact number and sometimes with all the narrow rows of shows and channels you can accidentaly mess up. It still is a good idea, but once you lose your remote, you're screwed.

  • I love the old VCR's. Do they still have the VCR plus stuff nowadays?

  • mine cost me £0.0p because it was my brothers and i dont have vcr's anymore

because i am recording my fave programes on my dvd hdd recorder

and they are great and programming a vcr to record by a payphone i find it hard to believe .

    frankie smales

    (retro tv advert fan)

  • wow, programming a vcr by phone. now you can program a dvr on the internet. isn't technology grand?

  • I always loved Panasonic's VCRs. I can't believe that now they only way ro get a new VCR is to buy those crappy DVD/VCR combos. Thanks to all this stupid technology changes, it makes VCRs and Record player hard to get. Not everyone like MP3 and all this modern technology crap.

  • @iloveusmarinecorps the reason being, that nowadays everything is made in china.no wonder why the modern tech stuff are crappy. but back then things were made in Japan, which meant quality

  • 096756, I still use VCRs for temp recording also. I've still got video machines reliably cranking away after 24 years, whereas my optical recorders (especially CD computer drives) crap out after only 2 or 3 years.

  • not only that dvds get damaged to easily tapes only die whn they have been played and recorded on for forever

  • @FantomLightning Unless you're using DVDs for coasters they they shouldn't be getting damaged. I've had zero discs fail versus many tapes over the years.

  • This is a real lol commercial

  • Comment removed

  • one of the better commercials ive seen in my day. great idea, great delivery...

  • I have this commercial in my collection somewhere. Program with a touch tone phone? I guess it works like my Panasonic pure cassette answering machine (digital answering machines and voice mail suck) call your phone number press your 2 digit code and # and a menu prompts you from there of course you have to hook your VCR to a phone jack like with Dish or Directv. I am still trying to find one that works on ebay.

  • hey do you know which model this one is id like to find one my self

  • lol. Were adults already beginning to be technologically illiterate back then

  • Yikes!

  • you can program it with your phone? holy crap that is cool! there are plenty of times where I have left the house and forgot to record something , and I would think about how cool it would be to call my vcr and set it to record from the keypad.

  • the best machine. PANASONIC is the only domah producer of good VCRS

  • And there isn't a PVR you can program with your cell phone?

  • wtf mate.
