@loveofchem That would be welding ( I use old coat hangers) and that is much harder to do than what I did in this video. If you're welding with gas (THAT takes talent) you're just a spit away from TIG welding :) Thanks for posting a comment to my video. Awesome. I also love the "hill-billy lathe", involving a grinder, or better yet an old furnace fan motor, and a drill chuck or even just bolting a chunk of metal to the end of the shaft. But this one is even better. I've heard that the powders are really simple and well known. I've even heard there were several hundred versions for alloy work at one time, but now only one type universally used. But ant and roach killer? That's awesome. I hope there aren't fumes in there, at least not insecticide
@SoyBoySigh If you dig around in the welding books you'll find that Boric Acid ( the ingredients in ant and roach killer) is what they coat commercial brazing rods with. I try not breathing any welding, brazing or soldering fumes. Thanks for checking it out and commenting :)
Even "Green Peace" approves of Boric Acid for ant and roach killer. This type of Borax is not to be confused with "20 Mule Team" soap which no longer has Borax in it.
It is things like this that our country is losing. If people dont have the Exact item for a repair they throw there hands in the air and say welp looks like it cant be done.
I brazed a cracked header collector with 16p nails once, yes really.
