The only thing you need to be careful about is getting drunk because since you aren't thinking straight you might end up doing some sinful things. So in short, drinking wine and beer doesn't make you less christian. If, you've read the bible, Jesus even turned water into wine for the party guests. If it were a bad thing, I don't think he would have done it.
