This band was HOT, 2 great singers, The horn players were from Woody Herman's big band, the guitarist later toured w/Steely Dan, and Larry Willis was and still is a 1st rate jazz pianist whose had played with Dizzy, Jackie McClean, and countless others. Too bad the public was so hung up on Clayton-Thomas. He recorded one great record with them.
Oooh This is the shit man. Love all the BS&T stuff. This iteration with Jerry LaCroix was a special time. He's an incredible talent with powerhouse vocals. For some reason the sound guy wasn't giving LaCroix's mic enough volume here. Check his stuff with Edgar's "They Only Come Out at Night" and "Roadwork" albums. Great to hear these guys keepin' it tight live. Thanks 4 the post towerofpower!
This another one of those shows from the 60's - early '70's where the band is absolutely kicking ass and the audience is just sitting motionless. I just don't get it!?
To cchaak: yes, this iteration of B,S & T was absolutely rocking with both Jerrys on lead vocals. The B,S & T with drummer Bobby Economou recorded the "Nuclear Blues" album in 1980 together with the bass & guitar-playing brothers, David and Robert Piltch. DCT on lead vocals. "Nuclear Blues" was the last studio album B,S & T recorded, tho the band had a "live" album released that same year.
Nobody plays music with this much passion anymore! Somehow, the fun-spirit got lost somewhere between the the latish 70's and early 80's. What happened.....?
I cant belive I found this video, I played drums for jerry in the mid 80s around beaumont Texas, We had a horn section just like blood sweat and tears,Ive never seen him in his younger days. He sang with so much emotion! awesome I wish I had some viedos to share , we were just as good as blood sweat and tears. Tracy Linder Bridge city,Texas
For wich Jerry you drummed? I always wondered what happend with Fischer musicaly? I know that la Croix (a very grey and voluminous man now, is still in the biss.
I remember a song they sang on an album, I was probable 9 yrs old, but it was just instrumental, and I've never gotten over that song, but I don't remember the name or anything. I remember it was short but so beautiful. Anybody remember it?
Please give us more of this blood sweat & tears if there is.
It was the best line out of the band. Not all the commercial DCT sht but real music. Of course the 4th album with DCT was also a beauty and the bst group with Bobby Economy and the two bass and guitar-playing brothers (I forget there names)but the two Jerry's added so much more. And don't forget Billy Tillman and the marvalous Larry Willis. After this we had the live album I think with DCT. There is on Concert Vault more bst sound.
looking for songs from first edgar winter album called white trash jerry lacroix was the singer along with winter if you have anything please let me know or if you canpost please thanks

Jerry La Croix is also a member of Edgar Winter's White Trash. This was after he left White Trash.
