  • do u say polyester plastic

  • nice dance!

  • ok I got some question and if anyone knows please give the answers...

    1. What cind of wood should I use?

    2. What cind of plastic is that?

    3. How to make a Rocker that will be able ride waves?

    4. What cind of glue should I use to stick the wood with the plastic?

    5. How to make it a strong but LightWeight SkimBoard?

  • instead of plastic use epoxy to cover up your board sand it to fine finish.. ^_^

  • This was my first project. I like the way you did yours. Check out my How to Make a Longboard.

  • haha, theres nothing concave about that board. just a flat and heavy skimboard

  • why does everyone ask the same questions! Dont follow this diy its old and shit haha

  • wat about the rocker ? O_o

  • that is how you make love with a skimboard!

  • may i know what kind of blackplastic did u used?

    tanx....

  • Were do you get that plastick stuff and what glue and wood did you use

  • which type of wood you used and where can I buy it?

  • the board at the end isnt the one you made because it has the curve on the front. How you do it? Without that the board will stuck in the sand

  • @MasterBlue3003 after cutting it with the jigsaw, you get the board wet by drowning it for two days, then you put an object below the nose and a weight at the top of it, at that spot where you put your feet on. Wait for it to rock still submerged then take it out to dry (still keeping the objects you put to make the rocker). It needs to get really dry, so keep it several days to dry, then you continue to do what nich said.

  • and now you wil be ready to hit the bitch ! :)

  • what tipe of wood?

  • @Rasmoonn plywood

  • só pudia ta xapado! auhuahauha

  • ´pregoooooooooooo

  • wow.. I feel like sleeping after watching your video... nice board =D

  • This looks heavy which is not good for riding waves. Do this if u only skimboard on sand, though !

  • WHERE DID YOU GET THE PLASTIC??????

  • wait in this video does DIY mean do it yourself?

  • @lilsnidesorioles it means do it yourself

  • bahahha thanks proboi522

  • Nich don't know you but you're HOTTTT ......more vids of NICH PLEASE!!!!!

  • where did you get the plastic?

  • He says "marine grade ply wood" Marine plywood has no gaps in the layers that you'll see in standard plywood when you look at the edges. Gaps will let water in and de-laminate the wood layers. , for size just look at the sizes of commercial made skimboards and make the size needed for your weight. Too small will not work!! Shape is not super critical.

For the glue, it is probably and exterior construction glue.

Plastic will slide much better than just wood, and won't ding as easily.

  • @lovethsuch

that is good for saying that , but can you tell me what kind of wood do i have to use to make a skimboard .

    thx.

  • @lovethsuch where do you get the plastic?

  • give the board some time then ull be ready to hit the bitch.i couldnt stop laughinXD

  • 2:49

    Hit the "BITCH"!?

  • io ne compro uno anzikè kostruirmelo dove cacchio li trovo ste cosee,,,,

  • I prefer buy one lol

  • i love hitting my bitch all the time

  • lol " youll be ready to hit the bitch" i love how Australian's say beach :)

  • i love how the work bench is labeled work bench

  • what kind of WOOD did he say i could not hear

  • you didnt put any rocker on it

  • Best how to VDO ever!!!

  • is that wood sticking

  • awsome!

  • hey where you can find polystyrene plastic ?

  • Wow a tool trying to use some tools, good thing you used the plane before the belt sander cuz that belt sander really does a nice job fairing up the edges. and that is not marine grade plywood. Plywood would be the worst thing to use. All GOOD boards are made from medium density foam for the core and wrapped in glass, and or Aramids AKA carbon or kevlar for all you dumbass's.

  • A board made of plywood doesnt allways need a curve/rocker. Boards made of fiberglass needs it tho...i think :S

  • gay but helpful xD

  • what is the chela ink that you used last

  • but there is no rocker!

i cant imagine to ride a board without rocker..

or is this nomal for skimboards?

  • some hardcore woodboard makers will sand the top middle side of the board to give it rocker, and if you like alot of rocker soak the board overnight then put the nose at an elevated position on something and put weights on where you desire the rocker.

  • @surfinsven its not normal actually even cheap 20 dollar boards you find at a novelty shop usually has one, but for flat land then its possible it may not have a rocker

  • did he mention warping the board???

  • He said polystyrene plastic dude.

  • @alexandercraig where can you buy it at?

  • tis guy is gay and i dont like his tone

  • someone knows what is the name of that black plastic?

  • @TheDjtarantino

it says it at 0:27 :) but not sure what he says though???

  • what is the name that uses plastic to the underside of the board?

  • how thick yo you have the wood beayse me and my dad made one but wood was to thick help dude please

  • I think you're missing the bandsaw and the routers. What's up with that jig saw? That's like a $5.99 special. Even in kangaroo cash, it's el cheap o.

  • i think ill try makin one

  • I have that exact table.

  • nice video.can u catch any waves with ur board?????

  • el sicko board

  • nice, now I try I build a table as yours :D

  • okay...you acted stupid though the video and u cant really skim and stick a trick!!!!

  • dude just cuz he had some fun making a video doesn't mean he sucks. just be chill and listen to the man hes good at what he does

  • what kind of glue did you use and where do i get that polystone plastic?

  • what is the plywood call

  • how thick is the plywood?

  • where can i get the polystone plastic?

  • YOU SUCK ASS

running to catch it sucks, and it looks like shit come on

  • Nich Zalmstra. What a gay name

  • you love it nashy

  • @pantstoolow

people with their "pants to low" take it in the ass so much they dont even bother to pull up there pants

    homo

  • hit the bitch??????

  • polystone

  • what is the plastic called

  • but you have to let it warp....so its concave. like the name of the company

  • where do u get the plastic

  • wheres the front concave?

  • It doesnt have to bend up. It is better if it does.

  • but it needs to bent up at the front dont it ???

  • awsome hat

  • hey friend can u describe the material u used please ?

  • dont u have to wet and bend the ply wood, giving the nose a slight upwards curve?

  • how is it going to work without any rocker

  • He looks like Brad Pitt

  • lol gotta love aussies hah were all funny

    :)

  • nice hat

  • is it hard to make?

  • wtf? WHY the plastic??

just paint it the way you want you can get better designs :x

than you just wax your board:x

  • you use the plastic to make it smooth on the bottom so it rides longer lol

  • how wide and how long is the skimboard.

  • hey im making a board and wanted to know what is the black sheet and where can i get it

  • its polystone plastic

  • where can you get it at?

  • sounds like you say " now give it some time to dry and then youre ready to hit the bitch"

  • what kind of ply wood dont wanna fuck my board up

  • it sounds like he says burning great ply wood but idk

  • haha nice

  • do you use treated plywood or is it all the same

  • alright so to get rocker.

you cut out the board shape from the plywood.

sand it, perfect it, but dont glue the plastic on yet,

soak it in water in your bath tub for 24 hrs.

then take it out and put the nose end on a brick, and set some weights between the nose and the middle of the board.

let it dry for 3-4 days

  • what kind of glue do u use

  • when he says beach it sounds like hes saying bitch

  • hahahaha... man, i got respect for anyone who is okay with acting a tit like this... mint... keep it up dude

  • thats cool but its wood but still u can make ur own skimboard

  • what kind of wood and what measurement, also where can you get the black sheet

  • what is that wood called and where can i find both the black plastic and wood.

  • no rocker?

  • yea man thats exactly what i was thinking.

how do you get rocker into your own board?

  • Comment removed

  • What type of plastic is that?

  • what about your rocker?

  • nice skimboard, but stop all that gay crap when your on you-tube

  • wow he was annoying....i guess was a serious video but he just thinks hes funny...

  • wow um all i really noticed that whole video was that ridiculous hat.

  • Don't forget the unmatching pants..

  • haha yea. hes got a um nice style.

  • thats one hell of a thick flatland board :O

  • ha yea it is

  • what is that plastic ( the disef )

  • what is that plastic? and where could i get it at?

  • whats that 3rd thing plyn or sumtin

  • sorry not sure what your asking?

  • did you make all of your skim boards

  • how do you mean? the ones in the film?

  • bhahah it videos so funny and even more ridiculously odd

  • cutest video ive ever seen. Expert village has nothing on you.

  • i turned one into a skateboard...

  • find something that'll fit your submerged skimboard. when i built my board i had to use a snow sled, i put some bricks on it to have completely under

  • would vinyl laminant work instead of the polystyrene plastic?

  • what kind of varnish did you use and where can i get some?

  • where can you get some of tha plastic

  • this skimboard is really big :s

  • actualy that skimboard was a pretty average size. as you get more advanced your skimboard gets bigger.

  • Awesome, how thick is that plywood?

  • 3/4 to around 1/2 inch. anything thinner probably could snap if you were gonna grind a rail

  • thanks

  • how do you curve the front of board

  • look im not sure but somtimes u dont need to. if you stand nearer to the back then the front, the tip of the board will be out of the water

  • after you cut your shape, soak the wood for 1-2 days or until its a little flexible. lay the board on a table with a piece of wood (1-2 inches thick depending on how much of a rocker you want) under the nose. put weight around 12 inches from the nose or use clamps. you may want to use a 2x4 to make the weight even across the board. let it dry for a few days then you're good.

  • put it in water (kiddie pool) for about 2 days, take it out, put a 2x4 on the nose and a weight about a foot away from the tip. let that dryout like that for about a week and you got your rocker. to get a continuous rocker just do the same thing on the other side at the same time

  • luv tht astralian accent

  • Nice! Waht is did, to make it better, a heated up te front of the wood, and bended the nose al litte bit, also a *very little* i did bending the sides, but thats just what you want that the board gives for performance... Sorry for language, im dutch:D

  • and how do you create the tips? I mean the wood is straight right?

  • wich wood is there to use best?

  • you dont realy need the plastic

  • that's right the plastic isn't necessary

  • glassing

  • my computer has no sound, what is that black sheet that you put on the bottom of the plywood to make it slide?

  • polystirne plastic

  • the guy actually said plastic not glassing

  • how 2 build a skim board,

1/go 2 exile or victoria factory and buy 1.

    2. dont use wood,

  • Its for flatland skimboarding

  • You sir, are a douche

  • look whos talking

  • and why am i a douche?

  • i did this in my woodshop class

  • You necesary need to have that kind of shape?I searched on the internet and i dindt found something...So I will create my own but i will create the shape by myshelf!I cant wait for the summer to hit the waves! It will be awsesome!

  • your so korny

  • dude thats so easyy bet u think ur heaps cool try makin a foam core board and start skimin fo real

  • whot long/wide is the board ?

  • what ever you want

  • what kind of plywood did he say

  • marine grade plywood, i asked the same ? before too

  • he didnt make the board with a rocker

  • Also... the plastics expert I talked to told me that polystone is near impossible to glue, and he said it should be done in the factory when its made :O

    What glue did you use??

  • hiya

I have been investigating where to get Polystone plastic - here in NZ for a sheet to make one skimboard it cost about $20 more than a brand new skimboard from the shop :( Just for the plastic!! And sourcing marine grade plywood is not so easy either! Are there cheaper alternative that I could use?

And can you use normal treated ply?

  • Where in NZ do you skim, which shop are you going to buy the board from?

  • you don't have to use marine grade, all marine grade means is that it has all it's voids filled, in the middle and outside plys, itnstead you can get one side good or just construction grade and filled the voids yourself with polysester resin/fill mix. you can uses fiberglass if the plastic is too much.

  • "Now it's time to hit the bitch!"

  • HAAH now thats funny

  • Ware can i buy that plastic?

  • QUESTION, how do u get rocker on ur boards, well i nkow how , but how do YOU do it, if u do it at all

  • its my mate who is the concave genious in this video, but i have spies who tell me he may use a car tyre
