have a problem with EAW. Used to play just fine until my graphics card got busted. We had to revert to an old one and the game was STILL playing fine but now i got another one it just won't play anymore!!The game would launch just fine and i would hear the opening screen and the main screens music but the screen is just completely dark!! I tried installing drivers again and every other game even older that EAW are playing on this one but not EAW!! Do anyone know what i got to do?? Any suggestion
@1138keshav I had to get an unofficial game patch to play this on a Windows7 pc, dunno if it would help you any. Google up the Win7 Empire at War patch.
it sucked. I originally thought it would be great having the SSD playable unlike the original game empire at war. but THe stupid game had to even everything out and the SSD was no where near as powerful as it should had been. enemy forces kept destroying it :(

Although the Executor is prized for its 5000+ weapon placements, wouldnt it be difficult to train ALL of your firepower on ONE target for maximum effect? This also presents the problem of effectively defending the entire ship at once. Regardless, it serves as an excellent intimidation tool, but as one unfortunate A-wing pilot discovered, there are incredibly easy alternatives to slugging it out
@RadicalMassacre If you play thrawns revenge mod you'll quickly find that it is awesome to have that kind of firepower on the battlefield.Also with thousands of turbolaser implacements you don't even need to concentrate fire.This thing has the firepower of a whole fleet. In the original game SW EaW FOC it's just a big floating hulk though.Perfectly useless.
The executor is even bigger and has even more weapons and armor strong enough to take a head on collision with a capitall ship :P

The A-Wing wasn't what caused it so much as the first explosion, The ship does not immediately detonate. Instead, an explosion begins, followed rapidly by internal munitions or other combustibles exploding, causing a chain reaction of explosions through the ship. It was very accurate to how an actual battleship can go down to one well-placed shell.
@Digga1221 Even if the A-Wing didn't finish it off, the Super Star Destroyer would probably got destroyed anyway. It's immense size made it an easy target which the Alliance took full advantage of by mercilessly bombarding it.
Do the capital ships move around or do they just sit there? I'd imagine something like an SSD probably wouldn't do too many barrel rolls but it'd be cool to watch it approach some base and then tear it apart.
A few months back I was able to Defeat an Enemy SSD on Multiplayer (he was Empire, I was FoC {Forces of Corruption}) and ALL I had was a lvl 2 Space Station :D

auto play is stupid.I once had defeated 2 mon kalamari cruisers 5 rocket barrage ships(cant remember name)and a shitload of fighters and bombers WITH admiral acbar using a tech 3 space station!I bet my right hand auto play would say i lost with no enemies destroyed!

@Darien500 One could quite easily argue though that Star Wars: Warlords (a mod for a great space RTS called Homeworld 2) is better in terms of space. There's also this other mod for a game called haegemonia that looks pretty good, it's SW again. Homeworld 2 is basically like ultra realistic. Check out its vids on YT.

@hammer226800 Yeah, got it installed about an hour after I posted that comment. The land battles are rather boring and lame and I find myself just using auto-resolve when it comes to that. But, the space battles are just AMAZING. Watching a bunch of Star Destroyers come out of light speed to reinforce is just awesome.
I recon this expansion pack sucks after you started playing it no offence i mean why include the corruption side? id prefer empire at war cause thats more of a challenge than FOC... although has the super star destroyer.... but still in foc the rebels just over use cap ship bombers and it gets boring..... and if they out number with my units with tones they still retreat like wtf?=.=

I remember blowing these up at Corusant... loved that level. Like 30 Capital ships each (Consortiom, Rebels, AND Empire). Just go mass bombers and you have it. That's how I win when I have level 2 Space Station vs. Home One ^^
Yeah true, Super Stardestroyer is cool, but it can get owned by squads of xwings and ywings. I always keep mine in a fleet with at least 2 Star destroyers, and 5 squads of tie defenders.
You should have an intridictor with you, that is critical to making sure you leave no survivors. I do it all the time in battles like the one you just fought and it works like a charm.
Yeah that "Auto-play" is completly unstable and OBVIOUSLY turned to the computer, i mean i was like i had a fleet of 10 star destroyers plus the "Avenger" and the rebels attacked with lik 10 Y-wings and some X-wings and one Corellian Corvette , and guess what the rebels won. Fuck the Auto-play i use it only when iam 101% sure i'll win. Oh and the Super Star Destroyer is SUPER!!!!

@hammer226800 Yeah, got it installed about an hour after I posted that comment. The land battles are rather boring and lame and I find myself just using auto-resolve when it comes to that. But, the space battles are just AMAZING. Watching a bunch of Star Destroyers come out of light speed to reinforce is just awesome.

I recon this expansion pack sucks after you started playing it no offence i mean why include the corruption side? id prefer empire at war cause thats more of a challenge than FOC... although has the super star destroyer.... but still in foc the rebels just over use cap ship bombers and it gets boring..... and if they out number with my units with tones they still retreat like wtf?=.=

@maxie15o9 They added that side because it actually exists in star wars and so it would actually be a expansion instead of a content pack. So no its not bad just because it has a new faction. And its just as hard for all of the teams.

If you have, and installed the game. You need to replace the launchbuttons in the installationfile with CRACK.

I remember blowing these up at Corusant... loved that level. Like 30 Capital ships each (Consortiom, Rebels, AND Empire). Just go mass bombers and you have it. That's how I win when I have level 2 Space Station vs. Home One ^^

Yeah true, Super Stardestroyer is cool, but it can get owned by squads of xwings and ywings. I always keep mine in a fleet with at least 2 Star destroyers, and 5 squads of tie defenders.

You should have an intridictor with you, that is critical to making sure you leave no survivors. I do it all the time in battles like the one you just fought and it works like a charm.

Yeah that "Auto-play" is completly unstable and OBVIOUSLY turned to the computer, i mean i was like i had a fleet of 10 star destroyers plus the "Avenger" and the rebels attacked with lik 10 Y-wings and some X-wings and one Corellian Corvette , and guess what the rebels won. Fuck the Auto-play i use it only when iam 101% sure i'll win. Oh and the Super Star Destroyer is SUPER!!!!

i had the SSD by itself at a planet, the rebels attacked with 1 corvette and 1 bomber, and i was like "oh fuck that ill just auto-play"... i lost.
