Just finished he game with Stoney's version installed. Words cannot describe how much better the game is, really in my opinion I would say is makes kotor 2 better then kotor 1. If there is a downside, its that now I'm triple pissed that their not making a third game.
@Crossblades34 probably better that they don't. they've proven with the release of kotor2 that they are only interested in money rather than releasing a quality game when it's ready. the unfinished content and rushed ending of vanilla kotor2 left me disappointed... and the TSL mod broke the game for me, making it unplayable.

Darthstoney did not restore everything team gizka was going. Gizkas mod compared to stoneys would have been like comparing star wars to star trek. There mod was going to be almost flawless. It saddens me no one got to see it.
@HelmutVillam, well yes the sith lords restored content mod is the successor since team gizka disbanded, TSLRCM is a very good mod and I recommend it highly. However it is unfortunately not compatible with the m4-78 mod at this point in time. However they are working on an enhanced version that should be compatible.

Use a search engine of your choice. Look up TSLRCM 1.7, as well as Zbyl2 and DarthStoney. They finished Team Gizka's effort. I spent 45 minutes last night playing through the HK-50 factory.
Huge props to those guys (and Team Gizka) for finishing what Obsidian failed to complete. Anyone giving the "This is a scam" comment a thumbs up is doing a huge disservice to the monumental work of a few dedicated modders.
@kylemaco Lucasarts paid Obsidian to develop KotOR 2. Should Lucasarts have kept throwing money at the development team to award deadline failures? Hell, Obsidian wasn't even really "creating" a game. The team borrowed a lot of the textures, enemies, and used the same game engine from KotOR 1. Same thing with Fallout: New Vegas. Obsidian borrowed the work of the previous developer, threw in some extra unnecessary features, and the final product was buggier than the original. Sound familiar?
@SilverJinzai Lucasarts was the one that should be blamed, they forced the game to come out without even letting Obsidian finish it, half the content of the entire game was cut because of the rushed deadline.
Seriously, the game was in development for 13 months, if Lucasarts can't be blamed for that, I don't know what you can blame them for.
@TheHeadlessOne Lucas Arts can be blamed for setting an unrealistic Christmas deadline perhaps. But Obsidian can likewise then be blamed for accepting a deadline they had to have known they could not make.

Never know. They are partly to blame for KoTOR 3 being cancelled.
@SilverJinzai Bioware wanted Obsidian to develop KoTOR 2, just like Bethesda wanted them to make F:NV. Who gives a fuck if Obsidian "borrows" the "textures, enemies"etc. They focus on what really matters - the gameplay and story. KoTOR 2 was rushed because of Lucasarts (Obsidian even wanted to release DLC to restore the content but Lucasarts did not want them to), and New Vegas was buggy because Bethesda's engine is a buggy one. Obsidian simply did not have the knowledge of how buggy it can be.

First, it's not Obsidian's fault really. Also, we are not upset that they didn't complete it. we know that RL is a priority. If you realize you can't do it, just say "Sorry guys, turns out we can't." We are upset that Dashus was arrogant enough to think he can do it himself, despite several offerings of help, and then decided to shut it off without an announcement. As long as he had the work, people would worship him. Not so much now. Thank you TSLRCM!

@SilverJinzai genoharadan would have started on telos with the false batu rem. go to wookieepedia and look up kotor 2 cut content. theres like 40 things that they cut. on each planet. the only complete levels were peragus and the harbinger. malachor, telos, and nar shadda got the worst of it tho. actually onderon was pretty bad too because of all the doors you couldnt enter.

First off, the music from the trailer is called Epicon. It's by Immediate Music/Globus.
Secondly, there is a torrent of the beta they released. I haven't tried it myself but it does indeed contain a good amount of the work that they've done before disbanding.
It's sad to see that this mod failed epicly...TSL coulda been so good and dark and dramatic...I guess it was never meant to be...
I am sad to say, Team Gizka shut down. They really should have said something about that here, but if anyone knows a Restoration Mod that has everything that was cut from the game, id appreciate if they would tell me. Thanks in Advance.

Observation: Their site is probably down right now because I can't get it to load, but when I Googled their TSLRP, it said in the description "Current build 1.0b11".
Statement: That build is one of the final release candidates. So apparently work is still going on, and they're probably fixing the site for download.
To everybody asking.. There is a leaked version out that I played about 6 or 7 months ago. Get it on piratebay. Only unfinished thing to my recollection was the hk facility on telos, and a few pretty significant bugs/glitches.. But overall a lot of welcome additions and it does make the game feel a little more complete.
Damn it!! It's just too bad that it's NOT SIMPLE to install KotOR II on a PC to begin with!! I mean I still have the PC game w/ me but I could NEVER actually use it for more than the first two minutes for "character generation." After all, I need a graphics/video card for a PCI-Express or AGP slot compatible motherboard, which I don't have so forget about it unless I get a new different computer anyway. Plus I'll need a patch for that Dantooine issue. Now it's been in my closet for about a year.
The guy running the project did the ultimate basement dweller thing of getting a girlfriend. Once he did he decided to screw over everyone who worked on this project and decided to stop working on it.
@Drackkor They did...sort of. Some of the beta testing team leaked a beta version of the mod to pirate bay. There was a lot of arguing after that, and some of the team gizkas members threatened to cancel the mod(What really isn't an update to one way or another) and legal charges(LOL:)
After that guy in charge "Dashus" seemed to take it personally, kicking every tester out of the team and then trying the finish it of by himself. We can see how good that went.

"KotOR II" had a lot of content cut from the game and "team Gizka" is trying to restore the content. to make the game better and longer. i believe when the mod is out this game will be one of the best star wars games ever.

The last beta tester to left the project told that Dashus (the last member) would held the project hostage.
There's another project though, which can be found at deadlystream(.)com, they seem do be doing it right, it's updated at a regular time and you can allready download files that add alot of stuff, the HK factory is also in.
why did I get a negative feedback? I'm just trying to help everyone out who is looking for a restoreation mod. TSLRCM is a restoreation mod, NOT a perfection mod that seeks to restore every single bug in the game. That's the reason Team Gizkas restoreation takes time. I appreciate what Team Gizka is doing. But if I find a mod that has restored about everything they could restore back to the game, and is released. I will not wait until TSLRP is done. I'm just trying to help.
@silentbf People are bit annoyed with Gizka, can't really blame them. I read some of the threads on Gizka's forums and those guys have lot to learn about...social interaction.
They should have known, that once they took the project there would be demands from the players, yes it's annoying but it's the way of things:Public always makes demands. Instead Gizka and Dashus seemed to do John Romero-moves and practically trash talked every one who questioned them.

@silentbf There is one way how you can look at the work what they did. Year or two ago, one of the beta-testers got fed up with teams modus operandi. He or she leaked a beta version of gizkas mod to pirate bay, have you heard about it?
@silentbf I played trough it. It was interesting, though since it was beta there were few game breakers. And lack of finishing touches. Hk-factory, for example has med-kits and shields...but they don't do any good, since it supposed to be played with Hk-47 against high level Hk-50 units, who appear in groups of three. It was pain going trough it: I think I used 100 construction kits and load droid shields to beat them all.
@silentbf Most changes seem to make Malachor section of the game much enjoyable and smoother experience. (Party members are now involved with the game). I just went trough it and now play Stoney's mod to see if there is any changes. You might want to try it out, if only to see if they've done anything differently. I'd say Kotor 2 is much enjoyable with restoration mods than with out them.

@Thestarwarsmovies Team-Gizka stopped working with their mod when TSLRCM was done (Atleast that's how I remember). You should download the TSLRCM mod from deadlystream (google deadlystream TSLRCM). Regarding the Massive improvement mod, I don't think its done yet, it should otherwise be a download link on moddb for it.
This just shows what a fantastic game this would have been if finished properly... It seems that greed always wins. But it was epic even in it's unfinished state. I'm glad to have this mod.
Obsidian are really great. They did an awesome job with this game and NWN2.
Fortunately I haven't been too focused on this mod, as it's been many years. I doubt it will ever be released in a finished form, but then again, what do I know?

i might get thumbed down 4 this by haters but here it goes... this is NOT a fake, TSL did fail but the restoration was rezed by a new group of modders. type in KOTOR2 resteration mod on google thats what i did and its now on my pc... just thought you guys should know :)

2 things.
First off, the music from the trailer is called Epicon. It's by Immediate Music/Globus.
Secondly, there is a torrent of the beta they released. I haven't tried it myself but it does indeed contain a good amount of the work that they've done before disbanding.
It's sad to see that this mod failed epicly...TSL coulda been so good and dark and dramatic...I guess it was never meant to be...

The mod that unlocks cut content is already on version 1.6.
By the way, is there any way to have in-game cut-scenes in full screen without the black bars ?
I'm playing on a wide-screen monitor and cut-scenes are about 20% of the screen,through the middle.

Observation: Their site is probably down right now because I can't get it to load, but when I Googled their TSLRP, it said in the description "Current build 1.0b11".
Statement: That build is one of the final release candidates. So apparently work is still going on, and they're probably fixing the site for download.

To everybody asking.. There is a leaked version out that I played about 6 or 7 months ago. Get it on piratebay. Only unfinished thing to my recollection was the hk facility on telos, and a few pretty significant bugs/glitches.. But overall a lot of welcome additions and it does make the game feel a little more complete.

Damn it!! It's just too bad that it's NOT SIMPLE to install KotOR II on a PC to begin with!! I mean I still have the PC game w/ me but I could NEVER actually use it for more than the first two minutes for "character generation." After all, I need a graphics/video card for a PCI-Express or AGP slot compatible motherboard, which I don't have so forget about it unless I get a new different computer anyway. Plus I'll need a patch for that Dantooine issue. Now it's been in my closet for about a year.

@Drackkor They did...sort of. Some of the beta testing team leaked a beta version of the mod to pirate bay. There was a lot of arguing after that, and some of the team gizkas members threatened to cancel the mod(What really isn't an update to one way or another) and legal charges(LOL:)
After that guy in charge "Dashus" seemed to take it personally, kicking every tester out of the team and then trying the finish it of by himself. We can see how good that went.

I was fourteen when I first saw this video, and being the Star Wars geek that I am, like many others, I couldn't wait to play it. I never dreamed that I'd be sitting here, now nineteen years old, still waiting for the mod. I guess not everyone keeps their promises.

"KotOR II" had a lot of content cut from the game and "team Gizka" is trying to restore the content. to make the game better and longer. i believe when the mod is out this game will be one of the best star wars games ever.

Yep, there is only guy left working on this and he hasn't been posting anything since a long time.
The last beta tester to left the project told that Dashus (the last member) would held the project hostage.
There's another project though, which can be found at deadlystream(.)com, they seem do be doing it right, it's updated at a regular time and you can allready download files that add alot of stuff, the HK factory is also in.

why did I get a negative feedback? I'm just trying to help everyone out who is looking for a restoreation mod. TSLRCM is a restoreation mod, NOT a perfection mod that seeks to restore every single bug in the game. That's the reason Team Gizkas restoreation takes time. I appreciate what Team Gizka is doing. But if I find a mod that has restored about everything they could restore back to the game, and is released. I will not wait until TSLRP is done. I'm just trying to help.

@silentbf People are bit annoyed with Gizka, can't really blame them. I read some of the threads on Gizka's forums and those guys have lot to learn about...social interaction.
They should have known, that once they took the project there would be demands from the players, yes it's annoying but it's the way of things:Public always makes demands. Instead Gizka and Dashus seemed to do John Romero-moves and practically trash talked every one who questioned them.

But think you're right, I waited ages for that mod, a mod that in the end just ended up failed. But what saddens me the most is that LA rushed the game, I believe it could have been something more. Atleast I'm glad TSLRCM did something about it. Anyhow, I think you were right about what you said.

@silentbf There is one way how you can look at the work what they did. Year or two ago, one of the beta-testers got fed up with teams modus operandi. He or she leaked a beta version of gizkas mod to pirate bay, have you heard about it?

@silentbf I played trough it. It was interesting, though since it was beta there were few game breakers. And lack of finishing touches. Hk-factory, for example has med-kits and shields...but they don't do any good, since it supposed to be played with Hk-47 against high level Hk-50 units, who appear in groups of three. It was pain going trough it: I think I used 100 construction kits and load droid shields to beat them all.

@silentbf Most changes seem to make Malachor section of the game much enjoyable and smoother experience. (Party members are now involved with the game). I just went trough it and now play Stoney's mod to see if there is any changes. You might want to try it out, if only to see if they've done anything differently. I'd say Kotor 2 is much enjoyable with restoration mods than with out them.

@Thestarwarsmovies Team-Gizka stopped working with their mod when TSLRCM was done (Atleast that's how I remember). You should download the TSLRCM mod from deadlystream (google deadlystream TSLRCM). Regarding the Massive improvement mod, I don't think its done yet, it should otherwise be a download link on moddb for it.

This just shows what a fantastic game this would have been if finished properly... It seems that greed always wins. But it was epic even in it's unfinished state. I'm glad to have this mod.
