when i was in school it was number munchers that everybody played. we did have oregon trail but only for like a couple of months because everybody sucked at it.

WOW when I was school it was not in color, the computers at school only had to colors, black and green.

You can get it for free at myabandonware doot com. You need to get the dosbox program to play it, which is linked to at that site as well. I just got done playing it myself

After comparing this version with the Apple version, I actually like Apple's better because:

1) When trading, you don't lose any time.

2) Money can be traded.

3) With hard work, it's possible to be at a fort, trade x amount of items for LESS than what it costs to but x at that fort's general store.

With Apple II, good luck hunting, you can only take back 100 pounds there making it harder.

I just beat this game on teacher and got 9219 points :D Really though, the game is broken because you can just keep trading and get as many supplies as you want. Some advice: the guide says to ford when the river's lower than 2.5 ft and to caulk when it's higher than 2.5 ft. You don't need to buy spare parts because you can always trade for them. You should have bought more non-perishable food. I like to keep everyone's health at good.

Absolutely right. This version doesn't consider wagon weight, so you can carry the full ton of food and not slow down. Not to mention how much money you can make with all that spare food (money is second-best for points, only to people in good health).
