  • i can't believe his stuff is still in there....

  • he died in there. haha

  • How could one go somewhere like this and act how she did? This place is spiritual, almost sacred. Yet she acts like it's just another trip to the mall. Sickening.

  • Bucket list....

  • what a shitty place to die

  • great video girl

    fuck all haters

  • damn i wish i had blue eyes like you

  • Why does all of those people who go there have to do a video of how they keep talking about things they don't know. Really, I can't understand what you wanted to see there. You didn't read the book, you have no idea of what happened but you need to do a video? That sucks big time.

  • I don't like the way you are touching the things inside that bus.

  • great video, taking the hike and seeing the bus must have been very interesting, regardless of how much you knew about chris mccandless. I definitely recommend reading the book, espically for anybody who is interested in adventure or wanting to try new things in life. And I hope you don't take any negative comments personally, andbody who comments this video in a negative way is simply mad that you are out enjoying your life and they are sitting home on youtube :)

  • Hey dikheds! fat!? whatever... she made it!

  • The worst dedication to the majic bus! Yuck! Do everyone a favor and delete this.

She don't even know what the hell she is talking about.

  • The most charitable view among McCandless's detractors is that his behavior showed a profound lack of common sense. He chose not to bring a compass (which most people in the same situation would have considered essential). McCandless was completely unaware that a hand-operated tram crossed the otherwise impassable river ¼ mile from where he attempted to cross. Had McCandless known this, he could easily have saved his own life. Additionally, there were cabins stocked with emergency supplies.

  • you're fat.

  • fat bitch.

  • you can run 10 marathons a day, it don't mean shit if you're still fat.

  • Thank you.

That makes you want to get there... but I live a great deal far away from all that

  • You people talking shit about this video are fucking stupid... Why are you even watching it? It's pretty cool if you ask me.

  • you didnt even read the book did you, reffering to the car crash theroy a tree fell into the doorway and he would leave his pants to dry on it

  • @whatshisface130 No I haven't read the book, yet. I went on the hike with some friends who had and wanted to go. I want to read it though, just haven't had the time yet unfortunately.

  • @s402310 lol... that explanation was so sad. why did you hike 12h to get there if the only connection you had with CM was a movie and, maybe, a CD by someone 'indie'...

  • I have just gotten to the middle of the book. Poor kid....

Compare Dorothy Molter, up in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. What did she have that he didn't? She survived and thrived for years and people looked out for her too.

  • Comment removed

  • its ok if ppl write on it as far as its nice stuff

  • ill sleep here, aint you?

  • Amaizing place.. Someday i'll be going there!

  • How the hell did a bus get there?

  • @kickodude In the 1960s the state was going to upgrade the trail so that it could be used by trucks to haul ore from a nearby mine. Three buses were put in the area to house construction workers. The project was stopped because thawing permafrost and seasonal flooding made the route impassable, and they hauled two of the buses back out, but left one behind for hunters to use during the hunting season.

  • haters gonna hate... i am amazed by this story and the tribute that this bus is to his adventure... im sure he is smiling down from heaven while he takes breaks from hiking admiring the positive influence he has had on people... RIP my friend... i will see you when i get there. much love!!!

  • wher is the magic bus? u have a google map link!?

  • Ignore the people hating...thy're just jellin Lol I liked the video!

  • For the jerks calling her fat: Lets see you hike 12+ hrs thru rugged wilderness, rivers and streams to make it to the bus. She is in good shape to make that journey.

  • I will be quite emotional when I get to the bus, specially when I venture inside. Years ive planned to hike there and finally it will happen soon and im so very excited. I will walk into the wild!

  • great video mate! I plan to see the bus soon myself:)

  • whos chris and why is he special i dunno just asking

  • @EeLaMSaRu Go watch the movie. you will want to watch it again. i promise you...

  • thanx

  • thanx very special

  • 'Get busy living or get busy dying' is from Shawshank Redemption, no? Which was in 1994. Don't think that inscription was written by Chris McCandless.

  • @thejman2005 lol! There are so many things wrong with this comment... it must be a joke. I'll just choose to believe that hahahahaha.

  • @Aprilshowersss You'll have to explain your LOLing - not sure what you're on about

  • Wow, the disrespecting comments I see here. >_> Brainless idiots.

But I liked the video. c:

  • @aznkeo12 I did at times want to cry. It was rather emotional being there.

  • Okay, first of all - you're not fat. Second of all - awesome video! I've watched a couple vids now on youtube of people who have ventured out to see the bus that Chris McCandless lived in during his own adventure. It must be a pretty awesome feeling knowing that you're experiencing, touching, and even interacting with HISTORY! Congrats and good for you that you made it all the way up there! I'm sure it was a really enjoyable experience. :)

  • Great stuff, adventure on!

  • thanks for uploading that x

  • thanks for uploading x

  • shes not fat shes big bonned :D

  • Hi, thanks very much for your video, I have watched the film and read the book, your details added to my interest. Well done

  • HOLY FUCK, YOU'RE SO FAT! :O

  • I think chris would have been happy people are experinceing the wild due to him liveing the way he did just for a while even! Enjoying the world for it's natural beauty and not for people in the world!

  • How did you get there?

  • Hey thanks for posting this vid. Most of the tardz in here wont even visit the magic buss, so at least u did. Your not fat. I'd "do" you.

  • Poor Chris...if well equipped hikers thought that hike was tough I can only imagine how he felt, he barely had anything with him.

  • awesome video.im thinking about hiking to the bus myself!

  • nice little clip and thank you for sharing..its good to see that people are respectful of the bus and replace what they use..the writings on the bus are small tributes left by those who were there..Well done camera girl and thank you for making the long trek.

  • so amazing! but I kind of feel that people are disrespectful to the bus; writing on walls and stuff /: I'm sure they're all nice things though. R.I.P. chris -3

  • Thank you so much for the footage... I'm going to Australia for 2 years in August but when I get back my plan is to get to this bus! Any information you have about how to reach it (as safely as possible haha) would be greatly appreciated!

PS don't listen to these assholes, I think you're pretty hot IMO =] x

  • @s402310 it's not the clothes its the disrespect and the double chin. I'm pissed because you walk in there and rifle thru all his things like it's a museum or something. you were disrespectufull.,..and you are fat. thats why you get the hate, or the truth. I GUARANTEE you didn't hike to that location on your own without help. DOUBLE CHIN gives it away. And YOUR GREEDY DISRESPECT makes me not give a shit what anyone replies.

  • @playdrums Hey idiot, the journals in the suitcase is for those who visit the bus & wish to leave their thoughts. MANY people have left writings on the walls which hurt nothing & frankly I think CM would have appreciated it. This girl was merely showing us what was in the suitcase, what was in the stove etc. So what. She disturbed nothing & left the bus as she found it. Even the family agrees the bus is to be USED by people. It's what it was put there long before CM died there. Get informed.

  • this is amazing and thank u for the tour inside the "magic bus" i always wanted to see how it looked in there

    R.I.P Chris McCandless

  • why is everyone bagging on the camera girl?? kids need to grow up

  • @blazeablunt4200 no shit and they should be thankful that someone was gracious enough to post a video so that the rest of us who can't make it up can actually see the real thing.

  • And for Gods Sake, what the hell is wrong with all of you? Leave the girl alone!

    Wow.

  • God bless you Chris.

  • thanks for posting this...someday i will make the trip out there. 12 hours...wow...i commend you!

the comment you made about chris writing "get busy living or get busy dying" is not accurate...it's a quote from the movie "shawshank redemption," which was released in 1994. as you know, chris died in 1992...so someone else wrote it.

  • this so cool. (:

  • @Victorsrp how could you be so rude?? If you have nothing better to do than shoot people self esteem than I feel sorry for you. And to the person who put this up, thank you. I think you leaving your symbol is perfectly fine, in fact encouraged. I hope to someday make the trip. Thanks for giving a tour to all who were fascinated by chris's story:)

  • great video...congrats on completing the hike! I am truly jealous. The bus has such a beautiful energy to it. Fuck all the haters posting negative comments...get a life...if you dont like it move on to something else you twat waffles

  • nice video, fuck all the assholes giving you a hard time

  • @georgebent1 hey man, take it easy! the girl did an awesome video!

  • thank you girl, thank you so much for this!

  • Extra video if I ever seen or lived christ!

  • Unfortunately Anything in there is not Chris's. Maybe the bible his parents left are the only thing that has any connection to him. The bed I suppose. But everything else all those clothes, shoes, broom, even suitcase. None of that was his. People long before either took it out. Or the family did. So the broom that she says is "his" . No. Sorry. Cool vid though congrats on the trip.

  • WTF in 1:10 ? JULY 1993 ? Alex Supertramp is dead in August 1992 !

  • @thechrisebeli this is a note from his parents, not from Chris. they came there after a year of his death.

And I agree that noone should doodle inside of bus. It is awful, stupid, selfish and it gets me angry becouse bus is like his tomb. profanation!

sorry for my english if it's uncorrect.

  • @nancyyumi

It's not his tomb. It's a bus... That was put out there for hunters... and he died in it...

Once you hike out there, we can talk. But until then keep your shitty comments to yourself.

  • @thechrisebeli his parents visted it about a year after his death

  • im glad he perished

  • Thank you for this video. I will go there one day to honor my hero's memory and legacy.

  • I'm reading the Jon Krakauer book in my English class. if I ever go to Alaska, I'll probably go there.

  • cool vid

i maybe making plans to go there some day but is it close to a village and so yes wat village

    thanks R

  • Careful what berries you eat out there.

  • @KnightOwl2006 or dont eat rotten potatoes...

  • my parents friends found his body in there

  • WINE BOTTLE ? thats a dom perignon champaign ffs

  • in the bus do you think there are any orginal objects or things/notes/books of his in the bus? just curious..

  • Im glad they never moved it...thats cool you guys visited...that...im really surprised its still there

  • Im glad they never moved it...

  • thank -you for sharing your snapshot of your experience

I usually enjoy reading comments inspired by peoples videos but some of these well they're ?ble ...

thanks for making your video and sharing your time

  • thnx for sharing that with the world

  • thats not wine, thats Dom P girl!!

  • going to the magic bus is on the top of my bucket list.

from 1 to 10 how difficult is the hike up there??

  • @misszana727 same here. i want to go this summer. chris is a hero of mine.

  • my question is how the FUCK did the bus got there from the very first place?Gratz for you that u had the luck and courage to go there(I am from Greece its a little bit far but well....Chris would do it and he'd wanted me to do that as well so i might as well visit!)

  • @Ninitos1

to eixan parathsei ekei giati eixe xalasei kapioi Ergates kai to xrhsimopoiousan kynhgoi san katafygio

  • @mastouris69 nai alla exei ekei dromo gia na perpathsei lewforeio???

  • hi there. its my dream to travel there to the magic bus. do you have a map to get there. i love to go there some time

  • " there is actually wood in here for people burning" nice.

  • Stupid video. I hate the idea the bus being a target for pilgrims. Hey, why don't we all go there and take photos of us standing next to the bus and write something "clever" to the wall. We could start charter helicopter-flights there and all really feel how he lived there. Major tourist-attraction.

Don't take me wrong but why don't we just leave the bus alone and respect Chris at that way? I respect him for living at his ideals and loved the book and movie. He lived his life at fullest.

  • i live in england and am currently preparing to get to the magic bus. this man is a true hero and has inspired me to live the way i do

  • you're right...that was needlessly mean of me...I have walked the trail three times, and lots of other Alaskan trails. Take care.

  • @georgebent1 And... you're a bitch who doesn't have the balls to walk the trail yourself.

  • @s402310 You go Girl dont let them give you shit! And to all you dummies who are squawking about desecration that suitcase was put there by Chris's parents for people to look thru, All his personal effects were taken when they investigated his death anything there now was put there at the parents direction. The bus is what it is, A shelter in the outback if it annoys you that people still use it build another one next to it! and quit yer Bitchin

  • @s402310 hahahaha great reply.

  • @s402310 Don't you worry about these fools & their hateful comments & thank you for uploading this. I saw some things in your video I hadn't seen in some of the other 'Magic Bus' videos. Some of these cretins giving you such a hard time are probably many of the folks that Chris McCandless sought to escape from in 'society':) Don't blame him a bit. Thanks again:)

  • thank U very much~

  • Wow !

This is one of my dreams !

Please, can you tell me how could you get to the bus? it would be a dream come tru for me !

    Please, answer me ASAP.

    Thank you so much

    Greetings from Europe !

  • read the inside cover of the bible..left there by his parents when they came to honor him..kool man

  • nice to see the bus in that good of condition,,seen another video where it had been trashed,,some people have no respect..the bus is based on the honor system..its a shelter and food for those who need it..read the bible .or just get drunk and trash the place, like the cool people that knock over head stones at the graveyards, God forbid some one cut there wrist breaking the glass after destroying everything,.....GodBless the SuperTramp...The Majic Bus is his headstone.......

  • sometimes i'll go there

  • People who refer to Chris as an "idiot" are just ignorant. I'll be willing to bet anything you couldn't even get INTO Emory college, let alone graduate with a GPA close to perfect. AND I bet you wouldn't last half as long as Chris did in the wild. People who think he was ill prepared because he didn't bring a map or a compass or whatever...are you kidding? Have you read the book? That was the whole point!

  • bottle of Dom Perignon champagne, the antithesis of the Mcandless mindset.who cares really,he was an idiot who did not prepare and died as many do each year in AK!

  • My love to you...for showing us the beauty bus and Hopefully (if im alive) ill make it to the bus ....

    Thanks

  • people dont make sense to me, this bus is like a memorial for good man with good spirit and they write all over it, i find it extremley disturbing that people are that disrespectful

  • i heard the bus was moved into a museum, is that true?

  • @danguhz0n3 no it's not true. the bus is still on the trail

  • @danguhz0n3 Not true. I was there in on July 2nd & 3rd 2010. I dont know for how much longer though. Sadly there are people that insist that the bus be moved so that people dont get hurt trying to get to it. I think it's sad that anyone would ever consider it. Approximately 100 people EVERY YEAR die trying to hike the Smokey Mountains. Should we cut them down too? Life is what you make it. Choose for yourself and savor the moments. Safety police need not apply.

  • But the bus is original? It is accessible to the public? We are your objects inside? Thanks

  • Thanks for the video! I ´d wish go there but right now I´m faraway down in Argentina.

  • Thank you babe!! Loved it!!

  • quit writing on the bus. respect chris. i hope you die there to

  • Grave desecration. He died in that bus. Go and visit it, respect him, but entering the bus, going through his stuff - embarrassing.

  • @XanderHarris88 It seems that the bus is there to be used by hunters, even after his death. Thats the shame. For me it is a sacred place too, but I am sure the girl in this tape entered it with respect and soul...nothing bad in that. I think. I thank her to share it with the world. God bless us all ;)

  • @nymphima Thank you for the nice comment. I completely respect Chris and only wish I had what he had. Hope you can one day make the journey too.

  • @s402310 Thanks to you! It is a moving tape...I hope one day I will go too!! And I think we all have a little of Alex in us, thats why we can understand his journey and feel so touched by it ;-)

  • @nymphima I understand where you're coming from, but think of this:

    You just finished hunting.

    You're tired and cold.

The wind is whipping at 35 miles an hour, hard to start a fire.

You see that bus, with it's stove, thick glass, ect.

I'm gonna guess the hunters went for survival over respect.

But, that's just my personal opinion, I in no ways mean to say that I think your answer is stupid, just that I disagree with it.

  • @Beatleboy62 For me that bus should be taken and kept it as the place where Alex lived and died...Alaska should have another place for the hunters...build a cabin or something and leave the bus intact..so all the people in the world that felt connected with Alex life could go there and have a moment of silence for his soul...I am sure the girl in the tape did that...that what she is giving us through this video...I thank her because I am far away to go myself.. And I feel Alex´s life very much

  • @nymphima 0-0

    Epic idea!

You're right, I never thought that they could build a cabin near there. If they could haul a bus, they sure as hell could build a cabin. (Or just haul another bus there XD)

  • @Beatleboy62 yes, I think it would be a good thing to do ;-)

  • @nymphima No disrespect to your feelings but I disagree with your statement. People should use the bus just like Chris did. It wasn't his bus. There are many place in the wilderness where people die, many cabins, huts, sights...It shouldn't make a difference just 'cause he "became" famous.

  • @Ljwaggy Yes, well...we all can disagree. I just think it would be nice to keep that bus as Alex left it..maybe now is too late for that. People has been using it as if no one passed away in that bus. And yes, Christopher/Alex was a great guy, had a passionate life worth to know..symbol of the grunge era..no surprise eddie vedder made the soundtrack for the movie..would be nice to keep it as it is.It is just my modest opinion ;-)

  • this is the magic bus. amazing.

  • Lurida turista del cazzo , te le taglierei quelle sudicie mani! Non illordare quel magico luogo con la tua cazzo di telecamera!

  • Уёбищный язык. Снимает фильм! А комментирует как во рту к*й застрял...

  • why the fuck are people writing on that bus. Keep it jst as christopher left it

  • @tomuchchocolatemilk yeah!! ryt!! dont write der !! it is still christopher's thing!not urs!!!

  • @tomuchchocolatemilk i agree , lets not destroy , PEACE

  • @tomuchchocolatemilk i totally agree..kind of disrespectful that people have to doodle all over something that has such deep meaning.

  • @tomuchchocolatemilk he didn't care, he lived how he wanted, he would want us to live how we want

  • hey thanx 2 taking us there....................

  • Christopher Johnson McCandless R.I.P. (February 28, 1968 - 1992)

    Good Memory's Never Lost .

    We Love You (Chris)

  • im going to make it my mission to hike all the way up there when i win the lottery so i can pimp it all out with wifi and hook up an hdtv with an xbox and like 300 games an d some satellite cable and leave it on FOX news while I slap on NRA, and Sarah Palin stickers all over the walls! and then I'm gonna scratch off Chris's quotes and put "I can see Russia from my backyard!"

  • I doubt chris wrote in sharpie still legible after 18 years. XD Nice video though, I can't believe the bus is still there. It's strange how this stories touches so many. It's unexplainable.

  • Thanks. You all are awesome. It was an amazing experience and i totally recommend going if you get the chance.... or maybe even making a chance. *smiles*

  • @s402310 thank U very much~

  • cool! :) thats awesome :)

  • oh yes his shoes have not been nicked by the 3000 people before you......

  • Wow really ? Is this really the bus he lived in ? I mean I thought it would become a sort of attraction with cops all over

  • @yodathedeathshadow It's in the middle of nowhere.

  • Chris's parents actually left a whole survival kit for future inhabitants of the bus.

  • I don't know. This just doesn't seem right. But good for you, hiking for 24 hours!

  • You are a fat whiny grafitti mongrel. you actually videoed your crimes of tagging your stupid "symbol" on a bus. and you breath heavy because you packed out ding dongs on your hike.

  • Really interesting. When was this? I saw another video where a guy found the place completely trashed. Was this after that? If so I am happy to the place was shown respect....as you do in this video.

  • It would be awesome to visit that spot! You're lucky.

  • Thank you.

  • @s402310 Honestly, I doubt Chris would ever care if someone wrote on the wall of the magic bus. I think he would be honored that so many found it comforting! Free spirits such as himself couldn't care less nor would he waste his time with negative anything! We should all be so busy living!!!

  • hey, just watched the video.. i say, good for you for getting out there and doing it. don't care what people think or say. sitting in front of a computer typing up negative comments to people pretty much sums up their existence.. hope you had fun, i know i would have.

  • Coolness!

  • Chris denounced society and lived in the wilderness in order to escape from many of the very same people who are now making pilgrimages to his bus. I read the book over a a decade ago and for ten yrs couldn't find anyone who was interested in the story or his life. Penn creates a bogus and romanticized film version, complete with a 'kewl' Hollywood soundtrack and a pretty death, and suddenly all the sheeple are now hard core 'fans'. Predictable. His death was HORRIFIC and he wanted to live

  • Why did you want to visit the site of a person's suffering? Get a life.

  • thanks for posting this. i'm glad to see people have stopped vandalizing the bus, at least for the time being.

  • So you guys hiked back for 12 hours without getting any sleep in between hikes?

  • We hiked 12 hours to the bus then slept there over night and then hiked back. So 24 hours of hiking in 36 hours. It was.... awesome.

  • Hey. ya sorry about the turning of the camera. It was my first time using the video function ... and well, i was slight exhausted.

You can't drive to the bus... but you can take an ATV if the river levels are not to high. i would prefer hicking however. The bus was put out on the trail for moose hunters when there use to be a mining trail....

And I agree, the Czech flag is awesome. But i am not sure what was written on the flag, i didn't look. sorry.

  • thank you very much!ken from fairbanks
