It's watchable on lots of formats but not download-able on all of them. Still mustn't grumble must we? It means we can watch some of our favourite proggys when we forgot they were on.
I love red dwarf LOL when stranded Kryten put his eye on his hand and sent it for help and cat and lister think it is a huge spider, we laughed till it hurt.
lol, i think thay have watched your rant about the BBC iplayer becasue now its available on pretty much evrything, including the Nintendo Wii, which im happy about because i often get kicked off the computer while watching stuff.
By the way, love reddwarf, always have, and i don't know how many people ive got to watch it over the years and they've more or less bought every series of it, inlcuding me, i just need series 8.
P.S. What is your favourate game console, if you have one?
You've probably already noticed (since you'd have got your "repeat fee", presumably) that the Beeb have recently repeated Series 1 of Red Dwarf in the small hours of the morning.
What I'm interested to know, Robert, is whether you'd get some sort of royalty for Red Dwarf appearing on iPlayer?
Actually Robert , i found your rant about the BBC IPlayer rather halarious , especially the why you shouted out " SHIT ! " in such a funny way , and i dont concider you a prick , whoever think you are should be shot in a Nazi Prisoner of War camp , HA HA ! .
I would like nothing better than to see Red Dwarf back on the air. I adore it and I'm only fifteen, in fact a majority of my friends like it so bring it back!
To be honest I'm surprised the BBC don't repeat Red Dwarf anyway, it was quality programming and even now is quite popular. (I know several people in my age group, just coming up on 20, that love Red Dwarf)
what the bbc need in this time of no money is to comission something cheap, something which has been done before and had great success. Something which has a loyal fanbase that craves every new morsel of information on it.
Doctor Who, i hear you cry. Well they already did that. How about, oh i dont know. Red Dwarf!!!.
And im sure you'd get more than a repeat fee for that Rob.
I love the bbc but yeah they are starting to pee me off. I hate repeats(why pay a tv licence when they just show the same stuff)but a lot of the progs they do make are fantastic but over the past few years we are seeing more trash sadly(on all channels, not just the beeb)
"This content can only be downloaded by users in the UK."
That's a shame.. I would gladly pay the license fee if I could. BBC has the finest programmes you can find. Oh well I guess I have to settle for torrents for now.
Screw the beeb, everything on there is a pile of shite anyway, if I do watch T.V. it will be one of the Sky channels. RD repeats would be nice, that it bothers me as I own the entire collection but I hope they do repeat it so you collect a fee Rob =)
Arrghhhg the iplayer is still in Beta, that's why it's only Windows and ie 6. They always planned for general release.
that said, since using it, I've realised how poor BBC content has been recently. I think there must be 3 programmes a week I might actually watch. I also can't believe how easy it is the pirate the content.
Though iplayer has it's many problems at the moment it's been very useful to me of late because I haven't had a tv for the past two months.
I do find it interesting to see that through they seem to be letting go of a lot of people, they are also advertising for many other jobs there from what I seen on their recruitment page a short while back. ... might be wrong on that of course.
I wonder if they'll do repeats and show them on iplayer.
its a real shame about the bbc and basicaly all other braodcasters are now owned by that scum bag Rupert Murdoch. yeea soon we will be abble to only watch 24 hour phone in quizes like itv is currently doing...
Yay for RD repeats, but I can't understand how the BBC got into this black hole of debt. I suppose I can say goodbye to decent programmes. Is it going to get to the point where Screenwipe, will be the only show worth watching?
they need to bring back red dwarf, even though i can see it on the internet, theres nothing like relaxing on the couch and watching a spot of the televsion device. besides, the brown ketchup with lobster bit, never gets old XD
I recon your right, they are listening to you.. :¬D It is terrible when you give out about somthing, then you turn around and they take it in the direction you where complaining about.. :¬D Hey, I'd like it if they reshow the Red Dwarf series too, but totaly for viewing pleasure... Ah well, nice to see you Robert! :¬D
too right, some eps of red dwarf have only been on terrestrial twice - in 20 years! I imagine David Jason's repeat fees for fools and horses must have him bathing in pink champagne...
Well even if the beeb doesn't repeat dwarf...channel 'Dave' on freeview is.....hopefully the equity rates for that are the same.... :) (Although barring in mind the stuff going on betwen GN prods and them, if it does is anyones guess.)
Glad to hear my MacBook will be compatible as I'm on YouTube a lot and keep missing stuff on the telly! 'You're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you...' ;-) Cheers, Lesley
Great; so the Beeb sorts out its Internet technology just in time for us to be able to "catch up" on TV programming that's going to be all repeats anyway...!
Still, if they do end up repeating Red Dwarf and that makes it onto the iPlayer thing, does that repeat fee apply on a per-click basis?
I cant play iplayer on firefox anymore.. have to use chrome

@staplerjm: Chrome is great. Starts up the fastest for me. Still, if my laptop were a human being, I'd shoot it in the face.

Pity they can't do something about accessing iplayer internationally....then I too would be smiling!

BBC asked the government for a rise in the licence fee to cover all the new digital stuff they're doing, and the government said no. sort of.

At least I can watch on my macbook now anyway.
