  • Listening to this while watching those snowflakes fall (:

  • genial

  • how the fuck did i get here? 0_O was´t i on a murderdolls video befor???

  • Horrible rendition! it's played so fast it's almost comical. This goes to prove how important tempi are- if the tempo of a song is altered from what it was intended to be- it ruins it. :(

  • @puccinislarondine Not as good, I agree. But I wouldn't say ruined. It adds a new character to fantastic melody; it's more playful.

  • Fenders? I don't think he had those in 1600's, but guitars did exist

  • did vivaldi actually write for guitar?

  • @Navajo549 Yeah he was a big fan of Fenders.

  • normally I hate classical music, and the snobby upper class twits that champion it, but as a guitar player I have to admit this is really beautiful, I remember \hearing this as a child in some wine commercial and... just fucking listen to where the change comes in at 0:18 seconds God thats beautiful

  • @SummernlightningUSA you're the narrow minded snob for thinking like that

  • @jacklemas

    oh shut up ya cunt

  • @SummernlightningUSA wow. you're clearly a really really shit person. and oh so bitter....

  • @SummernlightningUSA oh and also: HAHAHA - you're music is terrible.

    is that you singing.....?

    painful....

  • Beau morceau. Nous vous proposons notre version Flûte (Recorder) - Guitare

    DEMAREZ CASSIGNOL

  • Wonderful ...thank you ! :)

  • Not a great interpretation. I prefer it with original instruments.

  • @becomepostal: it doesn't matter what you prefer, if you want to value this interpretation. your argument is invalid.

  • @V0r4xX What do you mean by "to value this interpretation" ? I didn't intend to "value" it. It's just horrible.

  • @becomepostal

I mean giving this interpretation a rating referring to the instruments is an invalid argument ;)

You can rate this piece as it is, but the instrumentation is another case.

  • @V0r4xX Separating interpretation and composition is an abstract process that we like to rely on. It is quite good a way to proceed, as far as I can judge. But I try not to underestimate the value of interpretation, in regard to the importance of composition. Here I like the composition and I don't like the interpretation. That's a question of personal opinion, and of an opinion it is hard to argue. Let's say that I know and prefer interpretations that use "baroque" original instruments.

  • @becomepostal I don't understand how you can dislike this interpretation reffering to the instruments. It doesn't matter if the musician uses original or modern instruments, the interpretation is still the same. If you prefer baroque instruments, it's your opinion. But you can't dislike the interpretation because of "wrong" instruments.

I also don't understand why you're talking about separating interpretation and composition while we're separating interpretation and instrumentation?

  • @V0r4xX I understand your point of view.

As far as I'm concerned, I prefer to "say" that the choice of instruments is one part of interpretation. Of course, the way the musicians play is another part of interpretation. But this is just a question of word.

Let's say that the choice of instruments is not a part of interpretation, if you prefer.

I separate interpretation and composition, because I want to state clearly that I love this music, as far as composition is concerned. Not this recording.

  • I like this but I don't think it is very close to the original. The strings sound a bit too slushy. My favourite recording by far is the one with Los Romeros with The Academy of St Martins in the fields, with Iona Brown conducting. It has recently been re-released as a budget CD on Philips, Cat. No. 464 013-2

Like this, they have used guitars in place of lutes, but the effect is wonderful.

  • This music is just perfect to relax in a hammock on a beach somewhere!

  • This was originally written for Lute not Guitar similar sound but I Prefer the deeper sound of the lute, still it's beautiful music. and to think this was written almost 300 years a go thank goodness for those who like to keep things saved for future generations other wise we would not be enjoying it now.

  • @geekbaritone You might have already known this, but your comment is slightly ironic lol. Vivaldi was REDISCOVERED years after his time by the students of none other then JS Bach. They were religiously looking for Bach's scripts and found notations by Bach with Vivaldi written on them as Bach was influenced by the Venetian composer. Vivaldi has sort of risen and fallen in popularity, but thanks to the internet and digital media, he's probably here to stay...

  • Vivaldi is Awesome !!!!!! Buy as expensive Headphones as you can, Freq Range: 5 - 50 000 Hz. Heaven !! :)

  • music rules

  • A long shot but is there anyway of you burning me the CD, I have tried every way to get this - and can't seem to get hold of it.

  • Hi

ok now I finally get it! Sorry - not a user of upload sites. However the link not available - have you taken it off?

    Thanks

  • Hi

I think something got removed from your original message. Please could you just look at the CD and post which arrangement, conductor and orchestra etc the 2nd movement is on this recording is and perhaps I will be able to get hold of it from a music shop.

    Thanks.

  • @MrCatkin1 /?d=8DHUA5KU (place this after megaup****.com)

  • Thank you for coming back to me on this. I am after the one track for my wedding. Would you know if you can get hold of this without buying all 5 CD's? I have bought a couple of other versions, but when i got them home, they are much slower than this particular one!

    Thanks

  • @MrCatkin1 you won't find it, i will try to upload on easyshare the whole cd of vivaldi

  • Does anyone one know which recording this is???

  • @MrCatkin1 it's a selection from reader's digest, 5 genius of classical music, 5 gênios da música clássica (in portuguese)

  • Does anyone know which recording this is please? It is a faster tempo than some versions and I need to get hold of the CD.

  • It was also the intro music to the "CBS Morning News with John Hart" from 1969-1972, during which they would show scenes of sunrise somewhere in America. Back when CBS was run by cultured gentlemen.

  • George Delarue, a French composer took this piece and incorporated it into a Bright Jazz Score for a Movie called "A Little Romance" (1978). Many people, including me, consider one of the most movie scores ever written. Magnificent!

  • The Red Priest lives on in his incredible body of work. Vivaldi is what I expect to hear when I've died and, hopefully, gone to heaven.

  • this a lute concerto not guitar!

  • @InbictaProductionzZ its called a spanish guitar you dumbass

  • @dilbert250 oh yeah? as far as i know, vivaldi is a baroque composer. in baroque era, there was no spanish guitar, whatsoever. and this a mandolin concerto, just look for it

try to make your facts straight before insulting people

  • @InbictaProductionzZ ya then why the fuck did you say this was a lute concert?

  • @InbictaProductionzZ and the mandolin wasn't developed until the middle of the 18th century, after vivaldi's death. fucker

  • @dilbert250 fucker? it was a mistake, check the comments, i refered to this concert as a lute one earlier-.-

  • @InbictaProductionzZ im sorry. i love you <3 :D

  • Θεσπέσιο..!

  • Very relaxing so pleasant to listen. Thanks for posting

  • Wonderful, sounds great. I thank Google for adding such people to their homepage so I can discover a great piece of history.

  • it just make me looking back in time...miss my lovely childhood..

  • :17 until :40ish is the best progression ever written.

  • I absolutely agree...

  • This is my favorite piece by the great Vivaldi-I first heard it many years ago as a little girl when I saw a film by then-child star Diane Lane "A Little Romance". It still brings me to tears. ♥

  • This is my favorite piece by Vivaldi! Beautiful!

  • i didnt think this was uploaded on here!

this has to be his best piece.

its in the same league as da vinci's mona lisa...

    timeless.

    never forgotten.

  • My favorite Vivald piece of all time. Thanks so much for sharing! Lovely, haunting, lyrical. Remembered forever for this masterpiece.

  • Love love love this...

  • Does he like this tune?

    shalom

  • Keep your pants on bongkung. It's a fine piece of music, but dude...

  • i'm in heaven.

  • @bongkung

    I´m in heaven too!!

  • I'm crying with joy.

  • Vivaldi must have been in heaven next to God when he wrote this music.

  • @bongkung I would not doubt it. I'd say Bach, Pachelbel, and Beethoven may have had a few sessions with THE MAN HIMSELF a few times in their lives. ♪♫

  • Thank you Vivaldi, thank you for this beautiful music.
