  • This band is a piece of shit, anyone who like a this band doesn't know what good music is, and if you do like this it wouldn't surprise me if you like alien and farm-smooth criminal cover, as an artist I would be embarrassed to release this song

  • shut the fuck up,this is good shit

  • I really do like Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, but this certainly does do the song justice with a really awesome rock twist. Very nice.

  • Pretty hypocritical to criticize someone for covering Johnny Cash given his covers album, American IV: the Man Comes Around.

  • This is awesome!!!

  • i love ROCK over acoustic light music. So, for me this version is #1, but I love even better Eric Burdon's cover from the 'Love Is...' album.

  • this is actually pretty damn cool:)

  • Its a sad start to 2012, 30 people don't know what real music sounds like.

  • live version is a million times better

  • social distortion is the shit assclowns..... check out mike ness and his solo stuff u will really think it sucks shitbirds

but kids these days no nothing about music or where it all started

  • Saw them like 2 weeks ago @ Hampton Beach Maine. THEY WERE FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • What's that picture like 15 years old?

  • r.i.p. the man in black

  • I respect punk rock, but this, honestly, sucks

  • @LNBlack29 shut up u dont know dick!

  • @hammy14514 Nice argument

  • @hammy14514 He does know dick. LNBlack29 is a dick head.

  • this is a pretty awesome cover, love how they kept it very close to the original. Nice to see someone NOT mocking the lyrics for once :-

    )

  • this group need a new singer, this one just can't sing

  • There are two types of Johnny Cash fans commenting on this;

    1. Those who can appreciate the fact that this is a genuinely good cover.

    2. Those who call it terrible merely because it's a different genre to the the original (perhaps watch the acoustic version in the suggestions).

Also, I've heard that Johnny Cash himself said this was a good cover. That's a pretty good endorsement.

  • @allfantasticimages and johnny cash loved to make covers himself too. I love his cover of Hurt by Trent Reznor and also Thirteen wich (if I recall correctly) is originaly by Danzig. Beautiful!

  • wall of voodoo ! is better !

  • worst cover ever.

  • this sucks shit

  • realy cool

  • nothing beats johnny cash but this is still really good

  • there has never been a good cover of ring of fire. even frank goddamn zappa couldn't do it

  • ...Way to kill a good song...

  • johnny is proud of you!

  • STOP with the comments about mr cash version whas better social D just did this for love that they wanna show to cash music is for fun not who can make the best song !

    enjoy the music

  • This song should only be played on an acoustic guitar...

  • @NewToTheLyte Social distortion made an acoustic verzion also, check it out its pretty good

  • 15 ppl fallen into a ring of fire.

  • that was great they punked out ring of fire. lol. i started my day listening to george strait, willie nelson, waylon jennings, ray charles, toby keith, jimmy buffet and they all lead me to this excellent.

  • @beckett0113 they have their own songs. Can't they have fun and do something by a true legend? VERY MUCH TALENT. Social D, ftw.

  • It is very nice version of this song, i sing a songs from Johnny Cash, because he was legend, best legend, this is well done ;)

  • Matanza - Ring of Fire . Another band in tribut to the Johnny Cash

  • Love it!!!!!

  • is it weird to say that the guy in the middle-left looks like machete and the guy on the right looks like a younger quentin tarantino.

  • I enjoy Mr. Johnny Cash's original, but I love the driving bass beat that only a punk band can deliver. This is awesome music!

  • che tristezza

  • The Johnny Cash official facebook page brought me here, a great endorsement for a great cover.

  • Sorry... But never beter than johny... Damn good though... But not better than johnny

  • pfft no more then 80 Per 8th fools

  • stragaggia

  • If Johnny were still alive, I know he'd approve. His music was an infusion of Country, Gospel, Rock, and Folk music, so I know he'd approve of this rendition of Ring of Fire.

  • @JDuBTheAntiHero He would approve, at least his family does! The Johnny Cash official fb page posted this today!

  • nice nice version........

  • This is good

  • Since I've just heard the original, many wrote that SD did the only good cover of "Ring of Fire", but this version sounds like fucking college rock.

  • @StraightEdgeNL thats what the song is in the original anyways. if you like the original and your complaint abou this cover is that they play the same thing over and over agin your stupid.

  • @exitoftheend I just told him the same thing. Damn, you beat me to it lol

  • This is really the worst cover i've ever heard. Drum's and guitar are playing the same the whole song, pretty boring.

  • @StraightEdgeNL How can you complain about the cover playing the same the whole song when the actually song does it too?

  • Brilliant interpretation!

  • damn good, enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mommy's little monster all growed the fuck up and kickin' the shit out of everything in sight.

  • Very good. I like it.

  • Just one word is needed: Epic :D

  • best cover ever

    Troll..

  • Now i need to change my pants :)

  • 8 idiots. Or they can't hear. (:

  • i meet the guitarst!!!!!!!!!!!!! today no lieeeeee :)

    he looks youngggg <3

  • Love this cover. It really is gritty and keeps the earthy feel of Cash's work, even if in another genre. Working man's music.

  • There are four types of covers:

    1. Bad cover of a bad song. Not worth listening to.

    2. Bad cover of a good song. Often worse than #1.

    3. Good cover of a bad song. Often an interesting listen, rare.

    4. Good cover of a good song. This.

  • @jojolagger That's cause J.R. Cash was Punk Rawk at <3.

  • @jojolagger i was getting pissed the second i seen this.. then i read # 4

  • a great tribute to johnny cash! the accents are so fitting lol

  • I love johnny, but i love that they really preserved the sound of the song in the cover, thumbs up to a great band covering a great man.

  • Yay two of my favorite things. SD and Cash. Stuff like this makes life good

  • Good version of this song..usually don't like cover songs, but they really did a good job!

  • djs always play this at my city's rock club. everynight there's like 1500 people in there, and everyone knows this song. it feels good to know that somebody still reminds of this great song. i love it ;)

  • This song was actually written for Johnny by his wife, June Carter. But of course it was Johnny's original recording of it that made it the great song it is, and this is a kick-ass cover of it.

  • @1955RodHot Actually, the song was written by Merle Kilgore and June Carter for June's sister Anita, who was the first person to record and release the song. When Johnny listened to her recording, Johnny asked Anita if he could also record it, because he heard it in a dream with a horn section. Anita got the idea to write the song from her uncle, A.P. Carter, where she had read through one of his books and udnerlined was the phrase "Love is like a burning ring of fire."

  • love it !!!!!

  • Oh i thought that ring of fire was originally wall of voodoo's what a surprise ^_^

  • @Rewwgh O_O Oooookay

  • @Rewwgh its not social distortion's either, they're alot of covers of this song cuz its the greatest song every written. the original is by johnny cash, great man

  • @nayr3195 Yeah, I know. ;)

  • almost as good as the orginal!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • Johnny Cash would kick their asses for ruin such a great song

  • I think the cover of the Heideroosjes is better ;p

  • Badass cover!

  • Nice. This is a true cover with respect to a legendary original.

  • that's what i was lookin' for yes!!!!!!1

  • fucking great cover.

  • This is how a cover should be. These guys paid homage to the original song, while making it their own. Unfortunately a lot of covers are either a straight copy of the original, or they completely mutilate the original.

  • I just heard this in the car! It's fun to sing and dance to. I feel into a brunin' ring fo fire! In a deep vocie

  • great song

  • awesome awesome awesome hahaha awesome :)

  • better in rock n roll

  • @papacream hey smart guy Johny cash is rock

  • @bhavax8414 hey smart guy he's rock/country

  • @bhavax8414 hey smart guy, Johnny Cash is folk

  • @lupinincorporations Hey smart guy, he's also rock, country and rockabilly. No need to be a sarcastic dick.

  • @Swagger462 really? 'cause when I talk to dicks or dumbies I need to. "he's also rock, country and rockabilly", he is, when you are stupid, or deaf of course

  • @lupinincorporations And you think he's purely folk? I think you're the one that must be deaf you dead shit. Anyway, I'm right and you're too stupid to agree me with so argument over.

  • @papacream Johny Cash play Rock and Roll just the early stages of rock and roll

  • This song was on my mind today so I thought I would share it with you!

  • i heart social d, nice cover!

  • Who would have thought that Johnny Cash could work as punk? But man, it WORKS!

  • Johnny is smiling from wherever he is!

  • if it wasnt for me finding this song for a download on Rock Band 2 i probbly would have never heard of this band :/ but still kickass cover Johnny would be Proud.

  • WOOOw very good. not johnny cash but really good. I respect this cover. (:

  • I love this song ...... Can anybody put the guitar lesson for this? Not acoustic guitar but with electric guitar with distortion...........thanx

  • can any put the lesson for this this with electric guitar and with distortion

  • fucken bad ass!!!! love this song and "story of my life" Social D rocks

  • this goes to show how music drastically changes over the years. this song is ancient but yet a lot different. its still great !!!!

  • very good! not like johnny but damn good.

  • @6HA6VOK6 better than johnny

  • And, it's used as the opener to the progressive radio show, "Ring of Fire," with Mike Papantonio, Robert Kennedy Jr.!

  • @vandrews Robert Kennedy Jr has a radio show? Never heard of the other guy.

  • young desperado

  • nice try to cover it

but it would not be as great as johny cash :|

  • a true tribute to a true man

  • this needs to be out there more. hardly anyone knows about this.

  • Is that right? WOW, that caught me by surprise when I read "hardly anyone knows about this". But then I thought, maybe it just had always seemed like most everybody knows Social D.

I guess it only seems that way from within Orange County, Ca where if music means anything to you, you've heard Social D or else took too much, resulting in a coma

  • :D :D :D

  • and that my man is why were covering it and gettin it out there..it's a hell of a tribute

  • Did you know that this song was actually written by june carter? Well it was.

  • @523Rachel523 I knew that but it's one of those things I don't tend to remember :I

  • great song
